Chapter 43 Backer

Shen Yu pursed his lips and didn't say anything, but his expression clearly showed his disagreement.

Old Master Shen smiled slyly: "As long as we get a divorce, I'll give you all 20% of my shares. How about it?"

Upon hearing this, Shen Yu raised his head in surprise, then resolutely refused under the old man's expectant gaze:

“From the day I agreed to marry you, I never thought about getting a divorce. I, Shen Yu, don’t need to sell my wife for personal gain. I will earn what I want myself.”

"Even if I give the shares to your third uncle, you won't regret it?"

Just as Shen Yu was about to blurt out "No regrets," he suddenly froze: "Give it to Third Uncle?"

He looked up at the old man suspiciously, only to find that the old fox was smiling at him, looking like he was watching a good show, without a trace of the anger he had imagined.

Shen Yu seemed to understand something: "Grandpa, you..."

Grandpa Shen stood up and patted his grandson's shoulder. "Weiyang is a good child. Although she's a bit slow, she doesn't have any bad intentions. I feel very reassured having her with you."

For some reason, Shen Yu subconsciously thought that if Jing Weiyang were here, she would definitely pout and ask him angrily, "Where am I stupid!"

It really is adorable.

He couldn't help but chuckle softly.

After chatting with the old man for a while, Shen Yu was about to leave when he couldn't help but stop again just before leaving:

"But Grandpa, why?"

"Why?"

Grandpa Shen gave him a comical look: "What do you think? Isn't she the most beautiful girl you've ever seen?"

Shen Yu frowned, his tone slightly disdainful: "Just because of this?"

This time, the old man was unhappy: "What do you mean, 'just because of this'? Do you think your grandmother and your mother married into the Shen family in such a way?"

Isn't it simply because they were the most beautiful women of their generation?

"And you yourself, dare you deny that you only agreed to marry her because she's pretty? Your father begged you so much back then, and you insisted on not getting married, but as soon as you saw a picture of that young girl, you immediately..."

"Grandpa, I'm going downstairs now!"

Shen Yu couldn't listen anymore and disobeyed the old man, walking out the door.

The old man's smug words, however, drifted out through the crack in the door at that moment:

"Remember, the old man isn't joking. If you want this 20% share, you'd better have a great-grandson with Weiyang. My shares only count if they are given to Weiyang's child."

The door closed, and Grandpa Shen continued to look at his wood carving with a smile. Such a beautiful and charming granddaughter-in-law, only a fool wouldn't like her!

Shen Yu sighed at the door. What his little fool didn't know was that her biggest support in the family was actually the person inside the house.

As long as the old man is around, no one dares to question her status as the Crown Princess.

He couldn't help but chuckle as he walked downstairs, unaware that there was someone around the corner who had overheard their conversation clearly. In the darkness, she wore a shocked expression...

When Shen Yu came downstairs, Jing Weiyang was playing mahjong with everyone in place of Madam Shen, who was on the phone for a long time.

But who are these people? How could someone like her, with her rudimentary skills and equipment, possibly handle such card games?

Although Madam Shen generously said before leaving that the chips could be used freely and that any losses would be hers, Jing Weiyang still wanted to shout it out loud:

I can't do it!

Seeing that she hadn't won a single game since she sat down, and her coins were just flowing out of her pocket, Jing Weiyang's heart was practically bleeding.

Just then, a male voice, which she had once paid no attention to but now found as heavenly, rang in her ears: "How did the victory go?"
