Shen Yu suddenly reached out and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into his embrace.
His long, slender fingers gripped Jing Weiyang's delicate chin without any tenderness, his deep voice carrying a warning and threat:
"Think carefully before you answer. Is it true or false?"
This was the first time Jing Weiyang sensed anger in Shen Yu. In the past, no matter how many times he had been angry, he had always maintained a graceful and refined demeanor.
This time, however, she felt that if she answered incorrectly, he would transform into a leopard and tear her apart on the spot.
Shen Yu felt the body in his arms trembling slightly, and he knew that the woman was afraid.
He already knew the answer in his heart. This woman seemed audacious, but she was actually incredibly cowardly. He would never believe she would cheat on him.
Besides, that man in the photo—well, I'm not bragging, anyone with eyes could tell who to choose.
He just wanted to hear the truth from her.
Jing Weiyang looked at Shen Yu, carefully sketching his appearance in her mind.
She thought this might be the last time they would be so close.
"I'm telling you this seriously too," she said, her heart aching terribly, yet she still managed a smile.
"The photos are all real. That man is my first love. We met again after many years, and our old feelings rekindled. Are you satisfied with this answer?"
Shen Yu's face darkened completely. He hadn't expected such a simple question to elicit such an infuriating answer. He abruptly shook off her hand, stood up, and looked down at the woman on the bed:
"Jing Weiyang, there are consequences for speaking recklessly."
“I’m telling the truth,” Jing Weiyang said, maintaining her smile. “But the truth is never the most pleasant thing to hear.”
Seeing her like this, Shen Yu knew the conversation was over and turned to leave.
But the moment her hand touched the doorknob, she heard those heart-wrenching words coming from behind her:
"If you're tired too, the best solution is to get a divorce, so you'll never have to see me again."
Shen Yu paused, not turning around, but his cold, cruel words seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth:
"It's not your place to decide about divorce!"
Then, with a loud "bang," the door was slammed shut.
Jing Weiyang was startled, the man's words echoing in her mind:
It's not her place to bring up divorce?
Does this mean that Shen Yu has started to seriously consider it?
Once he's made up his mind, their fake "plastic marriage" will come to an end.
That's wonderful.
Jing Weiyang forced a big smile, but as she smiled, tears began to stream down her face.
Waaaaah, Shen Yu, you big bastard!
—
As the Cold War continued to escalate, Shen Yuming had already returned, but he did not return to Yijing Shengyuan for two consecutive days. The servants assumed that the master of the house was busy with work and did not think anything of it.
Jing Weiyang hesitated about whether to call him, but ultimately chose not to.
Since she's already said those things, there's no point in hoping for a good outcome.
Having achieved her "goal," she stayed home for the next few days and declined invitations from friends.
But that afternoon, two uninvited guests arrived at Yijing Shengyuan—
"Who did you say came?" Jing Weiyang paused, her fingers holding the book pages, and her long eyelashes trembled almost imperceptibly.
"They said they were your mother and sister."
"What's your name?"
"What?" The housekeeper was stunned for a moment, thinking she had misheard.
"nothing,"
Jing Weiyang closed the book and stood up: "Please ask them to wait in the living room. I'll be right down."
