Jing Weiyang looked at him with admiration: "Honey, you're so smart."
Shen Yu smiled at her as well.
Then she got a tap on the head, and was told, "Idiot."
Jing Weiyang: ? ? ?
"Boss, it's a call from General Manager Xie of Yuanfang Group."
The assistant, who had been trying to suppress a laugh for a while, came up and handed over the phone.
He then realized that the landlady was so beautiful and lovely; no wonder the boss would always go home, no matter how late he worked, whenever he was in China.
If he had such a lovely wife, he wouldn't bear to leave her alone at home.
But what's the deal with the divorce they keep talking about?
Is it a new kind of romance between husband and wife?
I don't understand.
Jing Weiyang wanted to argue with Shen Yu, but seeing him answer the phone, she didn't dare to disturb him. She could only silently curse Shen Yu in her heart as a pervert, a tyrant, and a two-faced person.
Just then, her right hand was suddenly grasped, a slender, clean hand slipped between her fingers, interlocking them.
Then I heard the man's voice, still pleasant but clearly carrying a sense of oppression and threat, coming from above:
"There's nothing to discuss. She hurt my wife. Sending her out of the country is the greatest mercy I can show. If you can't bear to part with your daughter, Mr. Xie, I don't mind helping you."
"No! No need!" The middle-aged man's voice on the other end of the phone suddenly rose, like a chicken being strangled and making its last cry. Jing Weiyang frowned when she heard it, feeling a little sorry for Shen Yu's ears.
But the phone was handed to her the next moment, and the man's voice was calm as ever: "Answer it, he has something to say to you."
"Me? Who is it?" Jing Weiyang picked up the phone in a daze: "Hello, this is Jing Weiyang..."
"Mrs. Shen, I'm so sorry. It was all my stupid daughter who did this. She offended you, and it has nothing to do with the Xie family! I've already taught her a lesson, and the plane tickets are already bought. I'll send her abroad soon. I hope you won't be angry..."
Just then, a woman's screams and shouts came from the other end of the phone:
"Dad, I don't want to go abroad! I don't want to go abroad!"
Then came the middle-aged man's powerful rebuttal:
"That's not up to you to say!"
Then there was another burst of noise, and after a while the man spoke again, seemingly from a different location:
"I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting. I just gave her a good scolding again. It was our fault for causing misunderstandings between you and Mr. Shen. If Mrs. Shen doesn't mind, we have a small private room in the Fragrant Mansion that we'd like to offer you as an apology."
Jing Weiyang blinked. What was he saying?
Her bewildered expression caught Shen Yu's attention: "What's wrong?"
She looked up blankly and said, "Husband, he said he's going to give me a house."
Shen Yu frowned slightly and took the phone back from her hand: "President Xie, just do as I say. As for the house and such, I will give my wife to her myself, so you don't need to worry about it."
He hung up the phone as soon as he finished speaking, but when he turned around, he met Jing Weiyang's big, bright eyes staring at him.
Shen Yu raised an eyebrow with a half-smile: "What, you want someone else's house?"
Jing Weiyang shook her head vigorously in denial, but couldn't help being curious: "Who is this husband of mine? What does he mean by saying his daughter offended me?"
Before Shen Yu could speak, his assistant, who had been largely absent for a long time, immediately stepped forward: "Madam, you'll understand once you hear this."
Although Jing Weiyang was startled by his sudden use of the word "wife," she didn't say anything. She watched as he tapped something on the laptop, and the green sound waves began to move—
