Chapter 126 Another Peril

"I've told you so many times, wolves are very intelligent, just like people. There are good people and bad people. Some people are heartless and have low morals. They are even worse than wolves." Ye Moxun could spout a whole bunch of profound truths.

Song Tantan nodded, finding the words quite reasonable. He reached out and patted Taishan's head. Taishan squinted, seemingly enjoying the touch.

Despite its seemingly docile nature, Taishan is actually a dog that no one in the entire village, except for Ye Moxun and Song Tantan, can touch. It is a very individualistic dog and no one it approves of can get close to it, not even Song Zhuiyan.

With the crisis averted, the two dared not delay any longer and quickened their pace. At this point, they had no time to gather herbs; their priority was to leave this dangerous place as quickly as possible.

More than a month later, Song Zhuiyan and Zhong Qingyi finally emerged from the deep mountains. They had heard from the flower thieves that it would only take about twenty days to get out of the deep mountains, but it took them more than thirty days to get out. The paths in the forest were very difficult to walk on, and they almost got lost along the way.

Fortunately, they did not encounter any large predators along the way, but they did manage to hunt some small prey, which they roasted and ate on the way. Now they only had three bamboo rats, two wild rabbits and two pheasants with them.

"That flower thief was able to enter the deep mountains in just over twenty days, which means he's obviously not a stranger to this route and is very familiar with the terrain. It's fortunate he's dead, otherwise he would have posed a huge threat to Songlin Village." Song Zhuiyan looked back at the deep mountains behind her and sighed softly. It would take more than a month to get back, which was too difficult.

Having emerged from the deep mountains, they were still greeted by a desolate wilderness. The two were unfamiliar with the area and had no idea how much longer they would have to walk before reaching the main road or seeing any villages.

The sun was directly overhead, shining so brightly that Song Zhuiyan used whatever was available, pulling up some vines and branches, and skillfully wove two simple straw hats to wear.

Zhong Qingyi was somewhat resistant. Why would a grown man like him need to wear such a thing? But since they had already made it for him, he couldn't just throw it away.

"It's so sunny, put it on." Song Zhuiyan glanced at him, her eyes clearly saying, 'Try not wearing it.'

Deep in the mountains, Song Tantan wore a flower wreath on her head, her little face flushed from the sun. She held a wooden stick in her hand to probe the way, muttering to herself, "I wonder how much longer we have to walk. My aunt and the others should have gone out by now."

She had to go into the space to meet her aunt that night and ask about the situation. In the past month or so, she and her aunt had only met twice. Because they were deep in the mountains, her aunt didn't dare to go into the space easily, fearing that a wild beast might suddenly appear and Uncle Zhong wouldn't be able to handle it alone, thus becoming a burden to him.

So she only went into her space once every two weeks to let Song Tantan know she was safe. To avoid arousing her aunt's suspicion, she rarely went into her space, afraid of giving herself away.

Of course, the supermarket had a lot of things on display, including a huge pile of herbs, a leopard, two wild boars weighing around 100 pounds each, a dozen or so wild rabbits, and three pythons.

In comparison, Song Tantan and Ye Moxun's trip was much more dangerous. They encountered wolves and wild boars, and were even chased by pythons. Normally, pythons do not attack people unless provoked, but they were unlucky and encountered fierce and venomous pythons. All three of them were aggressive and would chase any living creature they saw.

Two of the pythons appeared to be male and female. When they spotted them, they attacked together. The female wanted to swallow Song Tantan, while the male wanted to swallow Ye Moxun.

Song Tantan was not afraid. She had practiced martial arts since childhood and reacted quickly. She dodged the python's huge mouth, jumped to the snake's tail, and grabbed it with her small hand. When her hand touched the python, the python was instantly put into the supermarket space.

Ye Moxun suffered a loss. Although he scattered the powder in time, the python itself was probably venomous and seemed to have a certain degree of immunity to the poison. Other living creatures collapsed instantly upon smelling the medicine, but this male python only rolled its eyes and twisted its body wildly. It was not poisoned to death, and it did not even faint.

With a flick of its tail, the snake tightly coiled around Ye Moxun, its mouth wide open, as if it wanted to swallow him whole.

Song Tantan screamed in fright, trying to rush over and take the male python away, but she was too far away and her speed was far slower than the male python's speed in swallowing Ye Moxun. These processes could often be completed in the blink of an eye.

"Ye Moxun, don't die!" Song Tantan cried out, her voice cracking, tears streaming down her face.

She regretted it. She should have listened to her aunt and not run away. It would have been fine if she had run away on her own, but why did she have to bring Ye Moxun with her? She always thought she could handle all difficulties. When the accident actually happened, she realized that even with her spatial ability, she was still powerless at times.

Seeing Ye Moxun about to be swallowed, she couldn't bear to look at the scene and closed her eyes. But she only closed them for three seconds before opening them again. How could she back down? If she didn't do her best to save him at this critical moment, would she still be human?

"Awoo!" Taishan leaped suddenly, biting the male python's vital spot with perfect accuracy.

Then the second and third snakes bit the male python's head and body respectively. Before dying, the male python coiled its body even tighter. It was unwilling to die like this and wanted to take someone down with it. That tiny human was just a little more force away from strangling it and making it die with its mate.

With trembling hands, Song Tantan took out a handful of realgar and a large bag of lime powder from his spatial storage and sprinkled them on the python's body. Taishan's three mouths also bit down harder, and the python finally couldn't hold on any longer and died.

"Ah Xun, Ye Moxun, wake up! Don't scare me! You're not allowed to die! Come back to life!" Song Tantan cried as she dragged him off the python and placed him on the ground.

After shaking him for a while, he didn't react. His face was too pale, so pale that you couldn't see any blood in it, and you couldn't feel any life in it.

Song Tantan pressed her hands together against his chest to perform CPR, then pinched his nose and began mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
