Chapter 264 Small Matter, Don't Panic

As it turned out, Song Tantan's guess was correct. The beast was motionless, and there was a pool of blood on the ground, indicating that it had obviously died from the fall.

Ye Moxun touched the tip of his nose, looking somewhat embarrassed. He quickened his pace and walked over. Upon closer inspection, he saw that it was an adult snow leopard. Its snow-white fur with small black spots was particularly eye-catching, although it was somewhat mangled and bloody.

"There was a snow leopard here, but it's dead." Song Tantan said with a look of regret.

Ye Moxun crouched down to examine it and concluded, "It was probably severely injured by a tiger, then escaped to a tree, and finally couldn't support itself due to its injuries and fell to its death."

Song Tantan was extremely conflicted. The fur was beautiful and valuable. Should she put the snow leopard into her spatial storage?

"There seems to be another one on the tree, right at the top." Ye Moxun gazed thoughtfully at the towering tree before him.

Song Tantan listened carefully and indeed heard a faint whimpering sound, like a small animal whimpering. She said, "I'll climb up and take a look."

"No, that's too dangerous," Ye Moxun immediately objected.

After thinking for a moment, Song Tantan took out a pair of binoculars from the supermarket and looked up to observe the situation. After a while, she exclaimed in surprise, "There's a little snow leopard in the tree! It looks like it was just born. It must be the mother leopard's cub. I'll go up and pick it up."

Seeing that he didn't believe her, Song Tantan handed him the binoculars so he could see for himself if it was real. After Ye Moxun looked at them, he didn't object anymore, but still warned, "Be careful, there might be other ferocious beasts."

Snakes and insects love to live in trees, but trees in deep forests are not easy to climb; danger is everywhere.

"I understand, don't worry." Song Tantan's eyes sparkled, clearly determined to get her hands on the little snow leopard.

She was physically strong and climbed the tree, which was more than ten meters high, to the top in one go. She did not see any other wild beasts along the way, but there were bloodstains on the tree trunks, which must have been left by the snow leopard when it climbed the tree.

The little snow leopard was curled up on a thick tree trunk, fast asleep, occasionally letting out a soft whimper. Song Tantan was overjoyed. She had found it! She had really found it! This little cub would be her beloved pet from now on, hehe.

She took out a backpack, carefully placed the little guy inside, then only zipped it halfway up, leaving a gap for the snow leopard cub to breathe, before huffing and puffing as she carried her new pet down the hill.

Ye Moxun stood under the tree watching her sway precariously. This girl couldn't even stay still while climbing a tree, swaying back and forth so cocky. Wasn't she afraid of falling and turning into a meat pie?

"Song Tantan, behave yourself. Don't sway around, or you'll fall." He couldn't stand it anymore and warned through gritted teeth.

Song Tantan was in the middle of her excitement when he was yelled at, and she almost fell down because she didn't hold on to the tree trunk properly.

Whew, that was close! Luckily, she's strong and quick-witted, and immediately threw a hook from the supermarket and snagged it on a tree branch.

"Song Tantan!" Ye Moxun was also terrified by her.

"Don't shout, don't shout, you're disturbing my climbing. Don't say anything, I'll come down right away," Song Tantan quickly explained, and her movements as she climbed down the tree became even more swift.

When she was about three meters above the ground, she let go and jumped down, landing steadily on the ground. She wiped the sweat from her forehead, her breathing a little unsteady. "Ah Xun, look, a baby leopard."

At this moment, the little snow leopard opened its eyes, and its pink little tongue licked its lips. It was so cute that Song Tantan almost screamed with excitement, "Look, it keeps sniffing. It must have smelled something wrong. Maybe it's hungry and wants to find its mother to drink its milk."

"This little cub originally had a brother/sister, who was probably killed by a tiger. The snow leopard mother tried to save him but was powerless, and in the end, she was also killed by the tiger. If we hadn't happened to run into them, this little guy would have died too." Ye Moxun said, pointing to a bloody mess not far away.

Song Tantan went over to take a look and saw that it really was a snow leopard cub, but it had been bitten beyond recognition. She was heartbroken. The leopard cub of Duoke's family, and the hateful big tiger was going to eat it.

"Try to think positively. It's a jungle, survival of the fittest. That's the law of nature," Ye Moxun said calmly.

"Let's dig a hole and bury the mother and cub." Since we're going to adopt the snow leopard cub, it's inappropriate to take its relatives' fur; their relatives should be laid to rest.

Ye Moxun didn't say anything, took the hoe she handed him and started digging a hole with all his might. Song Tantan wasn't idle either; she hung the backpack containing the little snow leopard on a tree branch and started digging a hole as well.

About an incense stick later, a pit two meters deep was dug. Song Tantan and Ye Moxun carried the adult snow leopard inside, and then put the cubs together. Just as they were about to start filling the pit with soil, the two of them felt a blur before their eyes as a dark shadow swiftly flew by.

Immediately afterward, the broken system's chattering voice rang in Ye Moxun's mind: "Host, be careful! A pack of wolves is coming! Song Tantan's backpack has been snatched by wolves, and the little snow leopard cub is in grave danger."

Ye Moxun was no longer willing to speak, and various medicinal powders were prepared in his hands. At this critical moment, Song Tantan suddenly drew his broadsword and pointed angrily at a large gray wolf carrying a backpack five meters away.

"You wretched creature, how dare you steal my leopard cub! If you dare to harm a single hair on its head, I will wipe out your entire wolf pack today, and you will all pay with your lives."

She spewed out harsh words as if they were free, but in reality, she didn't dare to make any rash moves.

"Taishan, retrieve the little leopard." Compared to Song Tantan's frantic pace, Ye Moxun remained calm and composed as he gave the order.

It's nothing to panic about. This kind of situation of being surrounded by wolves has happened many times before, so there's really nothing surprising about it.
