Chapter Fifty-Five: Suddenly Chopping Wood

Everyone's hearts skipped a beat; Miss Song was indeed cold and ruthless, her face and heart were both cold.

Song Zhuiyan didn't care what others thought of her or how they viewed her. She thought that there wasn't much firewood at home, and it would be troublesome to go out and chop firewood after the snow. She might as well take advantage of the time now to chop more. Although Tantan could get firewood from her space, she still had to make an appearance. Otherwise, how would she explain that she hadn't chopped a single piece of firewood but had a pile of it at home?

"Brother Zhong, I'll leave this to you. I'm going to chop some firewood." Then she took the big knife and started chopping firewood with all her might. To be honest, this knife was good for cutting people, but it wasn't as practical for chopping firewood, so she could only cut down trees as thick as her arm for firewood.

Fortunately, the forest is large and has many trees.

Those around her trembled at Song Zhuiyan's fierceness. It was just chopping firewood, so why did she seem to have a grudge against the trees, chopping so fiercely? Was she doing this on purpose to show everyone that although her family only had two little girls, one big and one small, they were not easy to bully?

The two young girls from the Song family are not to be trifled with; everyone in the village knows that, right? Could it be that they really carried too much grain back last night and are afraid someone will rob them, so they staged this scene as a warning?

As if she knew what everyone was thinking, Song Zhuiyan came over after chopping firewood for an hour or so, wiping her sweat, and said, "It's too cold, so I put in extra effort while working. It really does make me warmer."

“Miss Song is right. It’s good to move around a lot to keep warm in this weather. My legs are stiff from standing here. I have to stomp my feet to feel better.” The middle-aged woman chuckled and stomped her feet on the ground.

In the Song family home, Song Tantan and Ye Moxun sat side by side on the bed. Song Tantan's bed was very warm, with a cotton quilt and a coral fleece blanket underneath, and a 1.8-meter by 2.3-meter, 10-pound coral fleece blanket on top, plus a 10-pound down comforter. Even on such a snowy day, her bed was still very warm.

Ye Moxun crawled into her bed as soon as he arrived, and she couldn't get rid of him no matter what she did.
