Chapter 179 Lowering One's Posture

Before Liu Chuyu could agree, He Tiantian shoved the tray into his hands.

And without giving him any chance to refuse, she turned around and went to the front hall to busy herself with bookkeeping.

People kept coming in to order food, and He Tiantian quickly noted down what dishes each table had ordered. Then she hurried to the backyard and handed the note to Liu Chuyu.

"Serve the dishes according to this menu, and be quick."

Liu Chuyu looked at the form shoved into her hand. What was this writing made of? It didn't look like it was done with a calligraphy brush...

"What? You can't read?" He Tiantian asked, seeing Liu Chuyu's blank expression.

Liu Chuyu snapped out of her daze, clutched the note in her hand, and gave He Tiantian a disgruntled look.

"Who do you think you're underestimating? I started learning to read when I was three years old..."

"That's good, get to work." He Tiantian urged.

Liu Chuyu swallowed back the rest of his boastful words, and took the tray into the kitchen to start serving the dishes.

When the food was actually served, Liu Chuyu realized just how delicious this unassuming little shop really was.

At least, he didn't know how many times he swallowed his saliva while serving the fried rice.

The people in the lobby were urging her on, and Liu Chuyu was initially slow and hesitant when serving the dishes, looking like she was about to get angry.

He then worked faster and faster, to the point that he himself didn't know why he was so enthusiastic.

Perhaps because everyone in the store was busy, he unconsciously became anxious as well.

When Zhao Dahai and Zhao Xiangbei arrived by car, it was the busiest time for the shop to be packed with customers.

Zhao Dahai and Zhao Xiangbei were visiting for the first time, and they had to ask several people along the way before they finally found He Tiantian's shop.

The two looked at the densely packed crowd inside the shop; every table seemed to be full.

Some people had nowhere to sit, so they bought breakfast and took it away.

Zhao Dahai handed the reins to Zhao Xiangbei, saying, "Brother, you stay here and watch over things. I'm going in to take a look."

Zhao Xiangbei took the reins and nodded.

Although it wasn't his first time in the city, this was his first time visiting this place.

Is this the restaurant owned by my second brother's wife? Business is booming!

Zhao Xiangbei stared enviously inside, a smile unconsciously spreading across his face.

As soon as Zhao Dahai entered the room, he saw He Tiantian. Overjoyed, he quickly ran over to her.

"Auntie, I've brought you water."

He Tiantian looked up and saw that it was Zhao Dahai.

"Ocean, you've finally arrived. We'll need the water if we're any later."

He Tiantian had been thinking about this matter since she woke up in the morning. When the water arrived, she finally felt relieved.

"I'm sorry, Auntie, I was a little delayed on the way." Actually, it was because it was Zhao Dahai's first time driving a horse-drawn carriage into the city, and he was a little hesitant to drive too fast.

After all, the truck was carrying water, and it could spill out if you weren't careful.

These days, water is as precious as money.

"It's alright, I'll take you to the back gate. We can't get in from the front right now."

He Tiantian dropped the ledger in her hand and walked around the table to come out.

When she went outside, she saw that Zhao Xiangbei had also arrived, but He Tiantian wasn't too surprised.

She greeted Zhao Xiangbei quite naturally, "Big Brother".

Zhao Xiangbei nodded shyly, "Second sister-in-law, I've come to bring you water."

He Tiantian led the way, while Zhao Xiangbei and Zhao Dahai led the carriage around to the back gate of the courtyard.

The carriage was loaded with two large buckets of water and two bundles of firewood.

The firewood should have been chopped by He Shitou. That child is thrifty and can't stand seeing He Tiantian spending money to buy firewood.

Zhao Xiangbei and Zhao Dahai carried the water and firewood down, and together they carried them into the kitchen.

This water delivery can last for about two days.

Liu Chuyu kept serving dishes, feeling like she was going crazy with busyness.

He became increasingly impatient as he worked, and his whole demeanor became increasingly agitated.

Is Aunt He treating him like a mule? He hasn't done as much work in the ten years he's been at home!

After Liu Chuyu finished serving the dishes, she returned to the courtyard and saw two burly men, Zhao Xiangbei and Zhao Dahai.

He didn't care what they were there for, but they seemed to know Aunt He very well.

"Are you two alright now?" Liu Chuyu called out.

He Tiantian looked at Liu Chuyu with confusion, while Zhao Xiangbei and Zhao Dahai nodded blankly without thinking too much about it.

"It's better if nothing's wrong. Come and help me serve the guests." He'd be exhausted running around all by himself.

The two looked at He Tiantian, who could see that Liu Chuyu was indeed too busy to handle everything.

He said, quite embarrassed, "I'm too busy. If you two aren't in a hurry to go back, could you help me out at the shop for a while?"

Zhao Dahai and Zhao Xiangbei readily agreed, as it was a simple matter for them.

When three men serve the food together, the process is much faster.

Zhao Denglong, Zhao Xiaolan, and Zhao Yanniang were managing to keep things busy in the kitchen.

The food was cooked just as fast as the customers were taking their orders.

As more and more guests arrived, the academy's teachers and a few students arrived almost at the same time.

The fried rice with eggs that Zhao Yan brought for these teachers yesterday, each of them only took one bite, but the aroma was so delicious that the teachers talked about it all night.

So I couldn't wait to come and eat today.

More than twenty teachers came in total, and each of them ordered a bowl of egg fried rice.

Zhao Denglong cracked eggs at a speed that was one per second, while two large pots were cooking simultaneously.

Zhao Dahai and Zhao Xiangbei were both strong men; they could easily carry ten bowls of fried rice with a tray.

Their arrival left Liu Chuyu with absolutely no free time.
