Chapter 302 Is he/she biologically related?

Zhao Denglong was really tired, and fell asleep shortly after lying in the warm quilt.

However, Zhao Wanzi and Zhao Xiaocao couldn't sleep because what Sister Lantern had just said was really hard to digest.

This caused the two of them to become increasingly confused, and in the end, they couldn't figure it out no matter what they did.

So, the two of them stayed in bed the next day, not knowing how long they had been asleep the night before.

When the whole family had finished eating and were about to go to Tiezhu's house at the foot of the mountain, Zhao Wanzi and Zhao Xiaocao finally peeked out from under the covers.

He Tiantian and the others had already gone there with lanterns, along with Xiao Lan, Xiao Lü, and Shi Tou. Chen Shi and He Chun also went there to join in the fun.

Even the household hardware and coconuts eagerly followed their owner out the door.

So, in this huge house, only Maruko and Xiaocao remained as children.

Zhao Xiaocao was awakened by the bright light outside; she hadn't realized she'd slept for so long.

She slowly sat up from under the covers and saw Zhao Wanzi lying next to her.

Oh no, it should be Zhao Wanzi, who's lying down and fast asleep.

Zhao Xiaocao nudged Zhao Wanzi a few times and called out, "Wanzi, get up! The sun's already high in the sky!"

Zhao Wanzi sucked the drool that had dripped to her mouth, turned over, and intended to continue sleeping.

Zhao Xiaocao felt that the house was quiet, and then she suddenly remembered that Sister Lantern had told them before leaving that they had all gone to see the bride.

Tell them to get up quickly and go help as soon as possible.

Zhao Xiaocao suddenly remembered that today was her second brother's big day, and her sleepiness vanished instantly. She jumped out of bed.

"Little Maruko, get up quickly, we still need to see the bride!" Zhao Xiaocao shouted loudly.

Zhao Wanzi suddenly opened her eyes and woke up instantly.

"Oh right! I forgot about that! It's all because we chatted so late last night before going to sleep."

The two children hurriedly started getting dressed, oblivious to the chilly winter wind.

After washing up, Zhao Wanzi casually went to the stove to see what was available to eat.

There were two boiled eggs and two radish cakes in the pot, still warm.

Zhao Wanzi picked up the breakfast, wrapped it in her clothes, and then gave Zhao Xiaocao an egg and a radish cake.

"Sister Xiaocao, let's eat while we go."

Zhao Xiaocao nodded, and after looking at the pancake and egg in her hand, she couldn't wait to eat them.

I ate so much delicious food last night, why am I still so hungry this morning?

Zhao Xiaocao wondered if her stomach had a hole in it, or if she was just being too greedy.

She peeled the egg like Zhao Wanzi did, the white egg white still steaming.

This was the first time she had ever eaten an egg in her life, and she couldn't bear to put it all in her mouth at once.

After taking a small bite, Zhao Xiaocao became very happy.

The eggs smelled so good; they were the best thing she had ever eaten, even better than meat.

Zhao Xiaocao was engrossed in the deliciousness of the eggs and did not notice that her mother, Cheng Shi, had spotted her and rushed over with lightning speed.

Almost all the men, women, and children from the village had come to the open space in front of Tiezhu's house today.

In front of so many people, Cheng grabbed Zhao Xiaocao's ear, startling her so much that she dropped the egg she was holding.

"You brat! You didn't come home all night, so you've climbed up the social ladder. Eat, eat, eat! How about you choke to death?!" Cheng Shi cursed angrily.

God knows how long she waited for that brat before going to sleep last night; she had wanted to vent her anger from the day.

But Cheng waited and waited, and even in the middle of the night, Zhao Xiaocao did not return.

Not only was Cheng's anger not appeased, but she hated Zhao Xiaocao even more.

Zhao Xiaocao was furious. Seeing her eggs lying on the ground, she grabbed her mother's hand and started biting them.

"Ah! You little brat!" Cheng Shi subconsciously let go of his hand after being bitten.

Zhao Xiaocao quickly picked up the eggs from the ground, not bothering to wipe off the dirt, and stuffed them into her mouth, swallowing them in a few bites.

Her actions were noticed by everyone in the village.

The other children in the neighboring village were envious, especially Zhao Erhua, who used to play with Zhao Xiaocao quite well.

She was incredibly envious when she saw Zhao Xiaocao eat a whole egg.

"Little grass, little grass, where did you get your eggs?" Zhao Erhua licked her lips, her mouth practically watering.

Zhao Xiaocao was definitely not in the mood to pay attention to Zhao Erhua right now; instead, she was glaring at her mother with hatred.

Mrs. Cheng was startled by her daughter's look, but she quickly recovered.

She raised this brat; how dare she challenge her?

Thinking of this, Cheng felt more confident.

She glanced at the people around her, then raised her voice to scold her daughter, "Xiaocao, you heartless bastard! You didn't come home all night for an egg! Don't you care about your parents anymore?!"

When the child didn't come home, everyone instinctively felt that it was Zhao Xiaocao's fault.

Seeing Cheng's furious expression, the older women standing at the front began to speak.

"Little Grass, look how angry you've made your mother! Hurry up and apologize to her."

"Yes, why are you such a worry?"

Zhao Xiaocao remained unmoved. She snorted coldly and asked indifferently, "Am I your biological daughter?"

The tone carried a deep sense of questioning.

Cheng had never seen Zhao Xiaocao so terrifying before. A hint of panic flashed across her face before she regained her composure.
