Chapter 137 Mother, I want to raise her.

Chen Chuan's timing was unfortunate; neither Old Master Chen nor Old Madam Chen were home. Chen Chuan wasn't in the mood for anything else, so he simply went to the study and set out the chessboard he and Old Shang had been playing.

When Mr. and Mrs. Chen returned home that evening, the nanny told them that Chen Chuan had been waiting for them all day. Knowing that Chen Chuan was in the study, Mr. Chen went there.

"Chuanzi, the nanny said you waited for us all day."

"Um."

"What's wrong?"

"Father, come and take a look at this game of chess."

Old Chen went over and watched for a while: "This game is difficult. What's wrong? Are you stuck?"

"He didn't want to play chess with me; he wanted to use chess to imply that I should know when to back down, when to retreat, to preserve my strength, and that there would be plenty of time in the future."

Old Chen pondered his son's words. After thinking it over, he picked up a chess piece and made a few moves. The game changed slightly, but not much.

"Like this." Chen Chuan picked up a chess piece and made a few moves, and the entire game immediately came to life.

Old Chen's eyes lit up immediately: "Where is this person?" There were some things he hadn't told Chen Chuan yet: "I want to see him."

"They're gone."

"Gone? Where did he go? Can you find him?"

"Yes. However, since he didn't say it explicitly, it means he doesn't want to be disturbed. Father, although I know what he's trying to imply to me, I haven't figured out why he's trying to imply it to me all day."

Old Chen sat down in the chair: "There are some things I haven't figured out yet, so I haven't told you. Now, I think I understand."

The father and son locked themselves in the study and talked all night.

After finishing his explanation, Old Chen asked his son who this wise man who had guided them was. Upon learning that it was the elderly woman Wang Xiaoman had adopted, Old Chen remained silent for a while. Finally, he said, "Your sister may never win Zhang Jun's heart in this lifetime."

The next day, Old Chen called his other sons back.

Then, Old Chen gradually transferred Chen Chuan's younger brothers to local positions. These positions weren't particularly important.

Originally, Old Master Chen had also wanted to transfer Chen Chuan out of Beijing. However… firstly, Chen Chuan was his eldest son. Secondly, if he transferred all his sons out, it would definitely attract attention. After much consideration, Old Master Chen decided to keep Chen Chuan by his side.

Meanwhile, Xiaoman took the children on a trip outside for over a month. It wasn't until Naonao and Tengteng were about to start school that Xiaoman brought them back.

When Han Bin returned home that evening, he saw the gate was open and rushed inside. As soon as he entered, he saw the children playing in the yard.

Nao Nao, Tengteng, Zuo Zuo, and You You saw Han Bin and said in unison, "Dad, we're back."

After the children finished shouting, Xiaoman, Lao Shang, and Lao Guo also came out of the house.

Han Bin was happy to see them, but he also wanted them to know that he was very unhappy that they hadn't come back. For a moment, Han Bin's expression was particularly strange.

Nao Nao: "Dad, what happened to your face?"

Tengteng: "Dad, why is the corner of your mouth moving?"

Zuo Zuo: "Dad, we brought you lots of gifts."

Youyou came over and hugged Han Bin's leg: "Daddy, hug me."

Youyou usually doesn't let anyone hold her.

Hearing Youyou ask him to hug her, Han Bin no longer cared about being unhappy. "Okay."

Zuo Zuo ran over too: "Dad, I missed you so much."

Han Bin picked up Zuo Zuo as well: "Daddy missed you all so much. Come on, tell Daddy, where did you all go?"

The four children chatted amongst themselves. Although it was a bit noisy, Han Bin was very happy.

At night, after the children had all gone to sleep, Zuo Zuo and You You, who were a little over two years old, took their blankets and pillows and went to Nao Nao and Tengteng's room. They thought their older brothers' rooms were more fun than their parents' rooms.

With the children away, Han Bin was free to do whatever he wanted.

Han Bin moved faster and faster on Xiaoman's body.

Soon, Han Bin surrendered.

Han Bin leaned on Xiao Man for a while to rest: "Do you not want to come back after you go out?"

Xiaoman patted Han Bin on the back: "No."

"Then why have you been gone for so many days?"

"We'll talk about it tomorrow." Xiaoman kissed Han Bin's ear: "Go to sleep."

Are you tired?

"without."

"Then..." Han Bin pressed Xiaoman down again: "You've starved me for so long, I'm going to eat my fill tonight."

Xiaoman whispered two words in Han Bin's ear: "I'll play along."

The next day, Han Bin looked to his side as soon as he woke up. Seeing that no one was around, he immediately sat up and called out, "Xiao Man."

Xiaoman's voice came from outside: "What's wrong?"

Han Bin: "It's nothing."

Xiaoman smiled.

After finishing breakfast, Han Bin left.

A moment later, Ma Xiumei and Wang Erni came in from outside.

Ma Xiumei looked at Xiaoman and said, "I heard you were back when I got off work yesterday. I didn't come over because I was worried you were tired."

Wang Erni: "How's your brother's wedding going?"

"Successfully. Come in and have a seat."

Ma Xiumei: "No, we just came to see you."

Wang Erni: "We should go to work too."

Xiaoman: "Let's chat again when we have time."

Ma Xiumei and Wang Erni: "Okay."

Just as Xiaoman was about to go back inside, Naonao and Tengteng led Zuozuo and Youyou out of the house.

Nao Nao: "Mom, we're going out to play."

"Okay. Take good care of your younger brother."

Nao Nao and Tengteng: "Okay."

After the children left, Xiaoman called Lao Shang into the living room. Xiaoman poured Lao Shang a cup of tea: "Uncle Shang, how long will this matter last?"

"ten years."

Xiaoman sighed. "After this calamity, will a prosperous era arrive?"

"Can."

Xiaoman's mood improved a bit. "Do you know what will happen in the next ten years?"

"I only know the general direction. I don't know the specifics of what will happen."

Xiaoman took the children out this time for two reasons: first, to broaden their horizons, and second, to learn about the outside world, which is why they stayed outside for so long.

Xiaoman shared her guess with Lao Shang.

After listening, Lao Shang nodded: "As expected of a prince."

Xiaoman: "I'd rather I guessed wrong."

The children returned as soon as Xiaoman finished speaking.

Nao Nao: "Mom, we found a little girl."

Tengteng: "Mom, she can't talk."

Zuo Zuo: "Mom, she's about my age."

Youyou: "Mom, I want to raise her."

Xiaoman looked up and saw a little girl being held in her right hand. The little girl was exceptionally pretty. "Where did you find her?"

Nao Nao: "School."

"Then she must be the child of one of your school's teachers."

Nao Nao: "No. I know both the teacher's children, Tengteng and I."

Tengteng: "Yeah. We've never seen her before."

Youyou: "Mom, I want to raise her."

Xiaoman looked at Youyou: "She has parents."

Youyou: "Her parents abandoned her, and I found her."

Xiaoman: "They might be playing at school. But you all think they're lost."

Nao Nao: "There's no one at school."

Xiaoman: "How do you know there's no one at school?"

Tengteng: "We walked around the school, but there wasn't a single person there."

Zuo Zuo: "Hmm. Nobody's here."

Youyou: "Mom, I want to raise her."

Xiaoman looked at Youyou: "You're still being raised by me and your dad."

“Then…” Youyou thought for a moment, “Then I’ll share half of my food with her.”

Xiaoman: "You'll starve."

"Then...then you raise her, that's right. Mother, didn't you want a daughter? She is a daughter."
