Chapter 478 The True Form Was Caught

Xiaoman: "Can you tell what his true form is?"

“I’ll give it a try.” The older sister stared at the fake-looking thing covered in gorilla skin for a while. “It’s a person.”

Xiaoman narrowed her eyes. "Are the animals watching those people all afraid of this hypocrite?"

The older sister nodded.

Xiaoman looked over at Lao Shang. "It seems he was the one behind all this."

"Hmm. He has no demonic aura, yet the animals in the mountains fear him. It seems this person is likely a cultivator as well. But," Old Shang was puzzled, "why does he capture so many people? To refine pills?"

The older sister shook her head. "It seems like he's trying to get those gorillas to learn from these people."

Lao Shang: "Study?"

The older sister nodded. "Those gorillas are all trying to walk like humans now. Some of them aren't quite right at it, and that one pretending to be friendly even got punched a few times."

Now even Old Shang was confused. "What exactly does this person want?"

Xiaoman's lips curled up slightly. "His true colors will show sooner or later. Let's go."

Old Shang: "Okay."

The older sister called out loudly towards the riverbank, "Little brother, are you done washing? We're leaving."

"I'll be done washing soon. Wait two minutes."

"good."

Meanwhile, Tengteng called over the two people who knew metaphysics. "So? Did you find anything?"

Old Zhou shook his head.

Old Jiang: "There doesn't seem to be any demonic aura in this mountain."

Tengteng could also tell that there was no demonic aura in the mountain. "Then let's go and ask those two scientists for their advice."

Old Zhou and Old Jiang: "Okay."

Tengteng led Lao Jiang and Lao Zhou to the scientists' tent. "Hello, how did you sleep last night?"

Zhang Aiguo stood up from the ground. "Very good. Comrade, shall we set off?"

"Well. Before we set off, I'd like to ask if you two have any suggestions?"

Zhang Aiguo shook his head.

Tengteng looked at Zhang Aiguo and his colleagues. "If you find anything, tell me."

Zhang Aiguo: "Okay."

Tengteng looked at the special forces soldiers responsible for protecting Zhang Aiguo and his colleagues: "You must protect the two scientists well."

The special forces soldiers answered loudly, "Yes!"

Originally, with her older sister there, Xiaoman and her siblings could have easily found the missing people and the fake gorilla. However, since the missing people weren't in any immediate danger, Xiaoman wanted to take this opportunity to train her younger brother. So, after her brother finished washing the dishes, Xiaoman looked at him and said, "Yesterday, your sister scouted ahead while you took care of Grandpa Shang. Today, you and your sister will switch."

"good."

The younger brother was taught by Xiaoman. Although he didn't join the army, his scouting skills are in no way inferior to Tengteng's.

Three days later, Xiaoman and Tengteng found the missing people almost simultaneously. However, the younger brother took a slightly roundabout route to avoid Tengteng's group.

When Tengteng and his group arrived, the missing people were sitting on the ground eating wild fruit.

Upon seeing the Tengtengs, those people excitedly stood up.

"Comrades, are you here to rescue us?"

"Comrade, please get us out of here quickly."

"Comrade, those gorillas have become sentient beings."

...

The special forces soldiers who had been captured by the gorillas felt a little ashamed. However, the leader of the special forces soldiers looked at Tengteng and said, "Comrades, don't come any closer. There are a lot of snakes in the trees around us."

Tengteng nodded. "Okay. What's your name?"

"My name is Du Zhiwei."

Some people wanted to walk towards the Tengtengs. But they had only taken a few steps when two or three hundred snakes suddenly sprang out from the surrounding trees.

Those people's faces turned pale instantly.

Du Zhiwei looked at Tengteng and said, "We were ambushed by these snakes."

Another special forces soldier continued, "There were at least a thousand snakes attacking us at the time."

Tengteng looked at the snakes in the tree. "Why aren't they attacking you now?"

Du Zhiwei: "The gorillas made them watch us. That's why they didn't attack us."

The man who led the group into the mountains to search for the wild man looked at Tengteng and said, "Comrade, those gorillas are really intelligent. They can not only command snakes, but they can also command other animals. Comrade, we've been like animals in a zoo these past few days, surrounded and stared at by those gorillas. Comrade, please think of a way to rescue us."

Tengteng looked at the people trapped in the snake's coils. "Don't worry. We'll get you out. Du Zhiwei, tell us what's happened these past few days."

"Okay." Du Zhiwei recounted the events of the past few days to Tengteng.

After listening, Tengteng thought for a moment. "You mean, there's a gorilla that can command all the animals in the mountains?"

Du Zhiwei nodded.

Tengteng looked over at Lao Zhou and Lao Jiang.

Old Zhou: "That shouldn't be the case."

Old Jiang thought for a moment, looked at Du Zhiwei and said, "You just said that the gorilla made other gorillas learn to walk like you?"

Du Zhiwei: "Hmm."

Old Jiang had a sudden inspiration. "Could he be planning to train all the gorillas in the mountains to be human?"

Upon hearing this, Tengteng looked towards the group that had gone into the mountains to search for the wild man. "The wild man you're looking for isn't these gorillas, is it?"

Those people were stunned when they heard that.

Zhang Aiguo adjusted his glasses. "Very likely. Gorillas are very similar to humans in both appearance and intelligence."

Tengteng looked at Du Zhiwei: "When are those gorillas coming back?"

Du Zhiwei looked up at the sky. "It's almost noon. They should be back soon."

“Okay.” Tengteng looked at the four special forces soldiers responsible for the safety of Zhang Aiguo and his colleagues. “You take the two scientists to a safe place to hide.”

Zhang Aiguo was very curious about the gorilla that could control other animals. "Comrade, I..."

He had barely uttered two words when he interrupted, "I know what you're trying to say. But I have to guarantee your safety."

"Oh well."

After Zhang Aiguo and the others left, Tengteng looked at the rest of the group. "You all hide too. No one is allowed to move without my order."

After everyone was hidden, Tengteng looked at the people surrounded by snakes. "You can continue doing what you were doing the past few days."

Du Zhiwei: "Yes."

One of the people who went into the mountains to look for the wild man said, "Comrade, why don't you rescue us while those gorillas aren't around?"

Another chimed in, "Exactly. If they come back, we won't be able to leave."

Tengteng raised an eyebrow. "Du Zhiwei, how many snakes did you say were attacking you?"

"Thousands of them."

Tengteng looked at the two people who were speaking and said, "Do you think you can run faster than snakes in the mountains?"

The two people fell silent.

Tengteng glanced at them and then jumped up into the tree.

More than an hour later, the gorillas returned. One of them was clearly the leader.

Tengteng and Du Zhiwei exchanged a hand gesture. After confirming that this was the same gorilla that could control other animals, Tengteng prepared to take action.

When the gorillas reached the tree where Tengteng was hiding, Tengteng jumped down from the tree. Tengteng chose a good angle, and landed right on the back of the fake gorilla.

The fake gorilla seemed momentarily stunned.

Tengteng quickly tied up the fake gorilla.

After realizing what was happening, the fake gorilla began to struggle. Whether it was because the fake gorilla struggled too hard or because the fake skin wasn't glued on properly, the skin on the fake gorilla suddenly tore open.

Upon seeing the fake gorilla's chest, even the well-traveled Tengteng was taken aback. "Are you human?"

On the other hand, the moment Xiaoman saw the fake gorilla skin crack open, she understood everything.
