Chapter 41 Tracking
Langxi Yicun hugged Ma Guihua and whispered to each other, making promises that even a dog wouldn't believe—oh, except for Ma Guihua.
"Guihua, wait a little longer. When I finish my mission and go home, I will definitely take you and the three of you with me. I'm sorry to have to trouble you."
"Forget about feeling wronged, I'm just glad you're safe..."
"Osmanthus, you are so kind."
“Ah Lang…”
Gu Zuozuo, who was squatting in the corner pretending to be a mushroom, turned pale, then black, then red, then black again, then pale again. Listening to the moans and groans coming from inside again, she felt like donating her ears.
However, judging from what this man said, he was here on a mission?
What kind of mission could someone from an island nation possibly have in this godforsaken place?
Biting her fingertips, Gu Zuozuo began to recall the history of this era.
It was during that chaotic decade, with people being ransacked and paraded through the streets in big cities, and everyone living in fear. But these remote mountain villages, because of the difficult roads, were much quieter and less bloody.
But now it seems that's not necessarily true; at least behind the scenes, things aren't so peaceful.
An hour later, the two who had been making love inside finally tidied up and reluctantly said goodbye.
Gu Zuozuo hid in the shadows, quietly watching Ma Guihua, who was beaming with pride, descend the mountain. She hadn't expected this man to be so capable; no wonder Ma Guihua was so devoted to him.
Only then did Gu Zuozuo turn her gaze to the face of the man who had finally revealed his true appearance.
He's quite handsome, which explains why Ma Guihua is so devoted to him. But his height is typical of Japanese people—he's incredibly short.
With a hint of disdain in her eyes, Gu Zuozuo flicked her fingertips, sending out a wisp of invisible white smoke that stuck to the man's back the moment he turned around.
This man was probably quite skilled, judging from his bulging temples and short, thick, powerful limbs. He walked silently, had a steady breath, and his eyes held a sharpness that outsiders couldn't see.
Luckily, I was careful enough, otherwise I would have really run into it. If we had collided, we would have definitely started fighting, and it might have been a fight to the death.
The man moved nimbly through the dense forest with wary eyes. Two hundred meters behind him, Gu Zuozuo followed at a leisurely pace behind a bee.
Suddenly, the bees started circling in place, seemingly having lost their source of fragrance.
Gu Zuozuo's eyes sharpened, and with a wave of her hand, she put away the bees. With a light tap of her toes, she disappeared from the spot without wasting a second.
A second after her figure disappeared from the spot, the man's figure slowly appeared beside a large tree, his eyes warily scanning his surroundings, occasionally frowning, as if wondering if his intuition was wrong.
Langxi Village was on high alert, scrutinizing his surroundings meticulously, not missing a single blade of grass. He clearly sensed someone behind him, but after observing for a while, he couldn't find a single hair. Was it just his imagination?
Gu Zuozuo watched with sparkling eyes as the man concealed himself once more, her heart pounding with excitement.
Ninja!
They're ninjas!
Although the ninjas of the island nation do not have the long history of ancient martial arts in China, their international reputation is in no way inferior to that of ancient Chinese martial arts.
