Chapter 31 Finally, I met my uncle.

Chapter 31 Finally, I met my uncle.

Xu Qingyan had been resting with her eyes closed.

He knew very well that no one was coming near him.

But the pen moved.

A slight tremor ran through him; he knew it was "it." His index finger, which was resting on the armrest of the chair, twitched slightly.

Yin Xiaoyin could see that Xu Qingyan knew she had arrived.

Curious, I followed him, observing what had happened.

She saw Xu Qingyan stand up and said impatiently, "I have other things to do. Take me home."

They had to ask Xu Qingyan to come over several times before he could. Under his companion's prompting, Kari had no choice but to suppress his arrogance and awkwardly say, "Mr. Xu, I will cooperate with your work."

Yin Xiaoyin watched Xu Qingyan's dramatic performance and wanted to applaud him, but unfortunately, the audience couldn't see it.

"Ha, I don't want to waste any more time here. Hurry up and find the people doing the relevant research for me. I need to confirm the parameters again. I don't want to stay here any longer."

Although Yin Xiaoyin couldn't see Xu Qingyan's expression clearly, she thought that since his tone was emotionless, his expression was probably calm and indifferent.

Kari snorted: "Go and take him to my office."

He then glanced coldly at Xu Qingyan: "Mr. Xu, you are very different from other Chinese people. You have piqued my interest."

Xu Qingyan continued to play with the pen in her hand with her head down, without looking up.

Kari is different from Risa. Risa probably relies on her beauty to act recklessly, while Kari considers himself to be a person with medical talent.

Therefore, even when Kari decides to please someone, it's with an air of condescending charity.

While observing the scene, Yin Xiaoyin speculated.

At that moment, she had no idea that she would soon meet her beloved uncle.

Seemingly because of Xu Qingyan's attitude, Kari and the others did not waste any more time. Before long, the sound of a car came from outside, and a group of people brought someone in.

Yin Xiaoyin, who was initially just curious, paused for a second before suddenly running in that direction.

"Uncle, Uncle..."

Unfortunately, no matter how loud she spoke, Liang Dewen couldn't hear her, and he didn't even realize that his beloved little niece had appeared in front of him.

Yin Xiaoyin finally stopped in her tracks, staring blankly at Liang Dewen.

The man looked much older than I remembered.

The black part turned mostly white.

Yin Xiaoyin's gaze eventually fell on his legs. It was only a few steps from the door, but her uncle was limping over.

He didn't speak, he just stood there silently.

He seemed completely unconcerned as to why Kari and the others had brought him here.

Xu Qingyan over there also had her eyes closed, seemingly unaware that someone was coming.

No one spoke, and an eerie silence fell over the room.

Kari slightly raised her hand and tossed her hair before walking to Xu Qingyan's side. Her perfume was very strong, and Xu Qingyan unconsciously frowned.

“Mr. Xu, the person you are looking for has arrived. This Mr. Liang, like you, is an unlikable Chinese.”

Xu Qingyan opened her eyes expressionlessly, her gaze falling on the man standing not far away. In that instant, it seemed as if the world had changed.

The image of the two dying together flashed through my mind, but my thoughts returned to the person in front of me.

"You injured his leg?"

Xu Qingyan's tone was filled with anger.

Kari and the others were not surprised at all. Since being taken into their control, Mr. Xu Qingyan had been lukewarm towards them, but he was very protective of the Chinese scientists who were in the same situation as him.

"Mr. Xu, please don't misunderstand. We invited you to stay and work with the utmost sincerity. Mr. Liang was only injured because he wandered off on his own. We were just being humanitarian and arranged for him to receive treatment from the best doctors."

Xu Qingyan snorted coldly, clearly not believing it.

Yin Xiaoyin also came to her senses and looked at Xu Qingyan with some gratitude. At this moment, she could understand that Xu Qingyan's actions were all because he had promised to help her find her uncle.

Thinking back to the "future" Xu Qingyan had written last time, she felt a sharp pain in her heart. She would never, ever let anything happen to her uncle.

"Mr. Liang, are they right?"

Xu Qingyan's tone was indignant and full of youthful spirit.

Liang Dewen didn't even look up, just gave a faint "hmm" and curled his lips into a mocking smile. What would be the point of him saying anything anyway?

But his compatriot seemed completely oblivious to his reluctance to answer, and raised his voice again, asking, "Why won't you speak?"

Kari spoke lazily, "Mr. Liang, if you don't give Mr. Xu an answer, Mr. Xu doesn't seem quite satisfied."

Liang Dewen slowly raised his head. He had only intended to give a few perfunctory replies and had no intention of implicating his compatriots because of his own reasons.

But, in the instant I looked up...

His gaze instantly fell on the fountain pen that Xu Qingyan was playing with in her hand.

He knew that pen all too well; it was exactly the same one he was using now.

He quickly suppressed the sound that was about to escape his throat and said with difficulty, "Mr. Xu, I'm fine."

It's unclear whether these words were spoken to Xu Qingyan or to the true owner of the pen.

Liang Dewen knew that the more questions he had to ask, the less he should alert the enemy.

Kari and the others were extremely satisfied with this answer.

"Mr. Xu, I can only borrow him for a short while, is half an hour enough?"

Carrie raised his wrist and glanced at the time on his Rolex watch.

Xu Qingyan scoffed, unsure whether she believed him or not, "Don't be so greedy."

Everyone was used to Xu Qingyan's occasional sarcasm, and the gray-haired, lazy-eyed man smiled and said, "Let's get to work as soon as possible..."

The relevant materials were on the table, and Xu Qingyan and Liang Dewen sat together and began to deduce the results.

Kari and the others watched from the sidelines. They were all knowledgeable people and didn't think the two of them could cause any trouble under their noses.

As Liang Dewen was doing calculations, the pen in his hand suddenly broke off. He was stunned for a moment, and Xu Qingyan casually handed him her own pen.

"That went smoothly."

He and Xu Qingyan exchanged a glance. In that split second, both being intelligent people, they understood each other's unspoken meaning.

The moment Liang Dewen picked up the pen, he suddenly felt as if another hand was manipulating it. He suppressed his surprise and went with the flow, and a formula appeared under his pen.

It was the formula that Yin Xiaoyin had helped Liang Dewen calculate with her abacus.

Xu Qingyan glanced at it. The formula was difficult to deduce, but it didn't seem out of place at this moment, and it matched the data they wanted to verify perfectly.

Even experts like Kari couldn't discern anything from it.

Liang Dewen was somewhat excited, a thoughtful look flashed in his eyes, and then, as if due to physical weakness, he suddenly collapsed, the papers on the table being slashed by the sharp pen in his hand.
