Chapter 6: The Ambitious Interstellar Robot
Yin Xiaoyin also looked at Yin Wenying. Robots are usually calm, but now she is Yin Xiaoyin, a human, and has all her emotions. Her subconscious feeling of disgust is real.
And her feelings of disgust probably didn't come out of nowhere.
Originally, she let these emotions run their course. She was just there to act as a control group for the female protagonist in order to complete the task. The sign-in task would better highlight the female protagonist's thoughtfulness and kindness in the story.
But now, she had some doubts: was the description of the female protagonist in that period romance novel in her mind objective, or was it influenced by the author's subjective opinion?
Yin Wenying's behavior has been analyzed in her mind all along.
The female lead doesn't seem to be as she's supposed to be; it's more like she's using her to climb to the top.
First, she constantly talks about how lucky she is, and then subtly reveals her bad luck. Who wants to associate with someone who is unlucky?
The old lady of the Yin family, who is their grandmother, is very fond of Yin Wenying, the lucky star, and has a lot of opinions about this unlucky child.
Secondly, he often says things that seem to be helpful to her, but in reality, they make others think even worse of him.
After sorting out her thoughts, Yin Xiaoyin didn't have any emotional fluctuations; Yin Wenying was just a target of her mission.
"nothing."
Yin Xiaoyin said casually and left.
Yin Wenying watched Yin Xiaoyin's retreating figure, biting her lower lip. The strands of black hair in her hand seemed to be constantly tangling. She murmured, "If good things happen to Yin Xiaoyin, I wish it would happen to me instead."
She knew that everything would get her wish, just like countless times before.
Yin Xiaoyin suddenly felt an unusual electrical fluctuation in her body: "What a strange feeling."
It's busy farming season now. Before dawn, the villagers are woken up by the team's loudspeaker and come over one after another. Everyone has a task assigned, and they can only leave work and earn work points after completing it.
Each person gets a row of wheat per day, which looks like it has no boundaries and must be several miles long.
The work in the fields lasted from morning till night. By the end of the day, everyone was exhausted and felt completely drained. They relied on sheer willpower to keep going, and no one complained. Instead, they were full of hope.
With their stomachs empty, the crops in the fields were their only hope for the next season, and everyone treasured these crops.
Food is the most important thing for people.
Slacking off while working in the fields will earn you the contempt of everyone.
Even the educated youth who were sent to the countryside initially could not adapt, but later gradually adapted to the environment.
Leaving yesterday aside, many people were watching Yin Xiaoyin's movements closely, and some even speculated that Yin Xiaoyin might quit after a short time, just like yesterday.
However, thanks to the sweet potato yesterday, I didn't say it too bluntly, but just kept looking in that direction curiously.
Yin Xiaoyin, however, remained calm and composed. Having observed everyone's actions yesterday, she picked up her sickle today and began to work swiftly and accurately.
The robot's precision was ingrained in its very being; if you looked closely, the wheat that Yin Xiaoyin harvested was so neat it looked like it had been copied and pasted.
And her constant bending and standing movements were performed with tireless precision.
"Why does this girl seem to be more capable than us at work?"
Ji Yueyan had just managed to catch her breath after a long day of hard farm work when she saw Yin Xiaoyin not far away, sweeping everything aside with ease.
She doubted whether the delicate young girl could handle it yesterday, but she was proven wrong today?
The other person seems to be doing it more skillfully and faster than she, who has been working in the countryside for several years.
As everyone looked at her with admiration, Yin Xiaoyin's inner monologue was actually like this: Ah, the human body is really different from mine before. I feel so sore now, what should I do? No, stopping the data analysis now will only make me feel more tired.
An interstellar robot with an indomitable spirit.
During the lunch break, someone called out to Yin Xiaoyin that she could rest for a while, go get some water and eat, but Yin Xiaoyin waved her hand until she finished the tasks assigned to her.
His entire body instantly slumped to the ground like a limp noodle.
"I'm so tired."
At this moment, those who had been paying attention to her finally breathed a sigh of relief. They thought Yin Xiaoyin was really not tired at all, just like the iron woman described in the newspaper.
Ji Yueyan couldn't help but chuckle: "I thought you wouldn't get tired..."
Yin Xiaoyin took a breath: "My body is still too weak. I'm afraid I won't be able to continue if I stop."
Ji Yueyan gave her a thumbs up and said, "You're right. Sometimes, you really just rely on a burst of energy, and once you lose your temper, you can't keep going."
"Very impressive."
"Go report the progress to the accountant, then go back to the youth settlement to rest. You didn't eat anything at noon, aren't you hungry? This is for you, do you want some?"
Ji Yueyan asked the question with some hesitation.
The grain distributed at the educated youth settlement was mostly miscellaneous grains (mixed flour, corn), wheat bran, sweet potatoes, and the like. What she brought today was a gray dumpling made up of several kinds of grains. It was very irritating to the throat and she had to drink water to swallow it.
However, Yin Xiaoyin's first visit yesterday left a very deep impression on me.
Accompanied by her father, she was as exquisite as a little princess described in a book, casually grabbing handfuls of cookies and candies that they had almost never eaten.
Would she be willing to eat such coarse grains?
When she shared her food with Yin Wenying, Yin Wenying smiled at her gray-faced little dumpling and said, "My family prepared white cakes for me."
She subconsciously wanted to take the food back, since Yin Xiaoyin had brought quite a lot of things; how could she possibly lack food?
But the next second, the gray ball in her hand fell into a pair of fair hands, hands that were covered in blisters from a day's work.
The girl looked at her with bright eyes: "Thank you, I'm really hungry."
Then I took a bite.
"It tastes just as good as the village chief's."
Ji Yueyan smiled unconsciously, turned around and put herself aside like a kettle, then said, "I'm going back to work."
The accountant who was keeping score recorded Yin Xiaoyin's work. She had seen how Yin Xiaoyin worked, so she naturally wouldn't make things difficult for her. She even advised, "It's the first day, so let it go. Tomorrow you have to do the same as everyone else. If you do this every day, you'll be doing physical labor and going hungry. The autumn harvest is also very demanding, so you'll eventually break down. You need to learn to balance work and rest. Take a good break these few days."
Yin Xiaoyin seemed exhausted and hummed in response.
The accountant waved her off as she returned to the educated youth settlement.
After returning home, Yin Xiaoyin quickly wiped her face, collapsed onto her bed, and fell into a deep sleep, even snoring softly.
Even though her body was completely exhausted, it felt like she was dreaming again.
This time, however, it seemed to be a rather luxurious hotel room. The man sitting on the leather sofa looked troubled by something, smoking one cigarette after another, and the ashtray was already full.
He seemed to be on the phone with someone, and sounded somewhat angry: "Don't you people talk about human rights? You have no right to control my personal freedom..."
He hung up the phone angrily after someone said something on the other end.
The cigarette butt fell to the ground, burning a mark on the exquisite carpet.
She slept very soundly, and didn't even wake up when the other educated youth at the settlement gradually left work.
