Chapter 109 Catching the Adulterers on the Weekend

Many people come out for morning exercise on Saturday morning. If they run into someone they know, they will greet each other.

Xu Ruantang felt that everyone was looking at her differently today; some were gossipy, some were disdainful, and some were even openly rolling their eyes at her.

At first, she thought she had overexerted herself and was hallucinating.

After she got on her bicycle and left the compound, she gradually came to her senses.

It seemed like it was directed at her; the look in her eyes was as if she had stolen something from someone.

Without time to think further, Xu Ruantang got busy as soon as she arrived at the store.

She finished painting the promotional posters a few days ago and set them up at the entrance every morning.

Qiu Liang makes honey bread rolls, and Xu Ruantang makes small cakes.

Today is Saturday, which is the first day of the trial operation.

After making the bread rolls, Qiu Liang, as agreed beforehand, pushed his bicycle around to promote the store's new products and special offers.

Xu Ruantang stayed at the shop.

Qiu Liang could only leave with peace of mind knowing she was there.

She only made ten small cakes, originally planning to price them at five yuan each, but Qiu Liang thought it was too expensive and no one would buy them.

After some discussion, they changed the price to three yuan each.

This stuff costs much more than honey bread rolls.

As soon as Qiu Liang left, a group of fashionable and glamorous women entered the store.

Although they are called women, most of them are actually girls under twenty years old.

Xu Ruantang ignored their greetings and stared at her, looking her up and down.

"Hello, would you like to buy some pastries? They're freshly baked."

Xu Ruantang repeated it with a smile.

You can't hit a smiling face, but someone couldn't stand it anymore, so they took a step forward and their eyes fell on the pastries.

It smells delicious, but I don't know how it tastes.

Xu Ruantang picked up a small plate and handed it to the group of people, saying, "It's alright, you can try some first."

The plate contained small pieces of the sample she had cut up.

How much is this?

One of the girls pointed to the small cake and asked.

This little cake looks even more tempting, with flowers piped out of cream and fruit garnishing it, making it a feast for the eyes.

The fruit was canned.

"This is a fruit cream cake, a new product that we just launched. It's only available on weekends, and we only make ten a day. It costs three yuan a cake."

Upon hearing this, the girl raised her voice: "What?! This piece of junk costs three yuan?! Why don't you just rob it?!"

“Yeah, it’s way too expensive.” Another girl rolled her eyes. “Even state-run grocery stores wouldn’t dare sell it at this price.”

Xu Ruantang remained calm and composed, explaining, "This is expensive because it contains cream and fruit. If you don't like it, you can check out the honey bread rolls over here. Buy nine and get three free, twelve for three yuan."

"Twelve of them! You can't eat this stuff, who would buy so many at once!"

As soon as Xu Ruantang finished speaking, a girl retorted.

Actually, Xu Ruantang had considered this pricing strategy. In those days, most families had many members, and twelve pieces could be eaten up in two days at most.

At this point, she finally understood that these people weren't there to buy anything; they were there to cause trouble.

"Since there are many of you, you can buy it and split the cost among yourselves."

After Xu Ruantang finished speaking, she picked up the steamed buns she had bought that morning but hadn't had time to eat, and sat down to start munching on them.

Seeing that she dared to ignore them, the girls became anxious.

"How can you do business like this? You're not the boss, are you? Where's your boss? Tell him to come out here!"

Ignoring their clamor, Xu Ruantang slowly finished her steamed bun before standing up and asking, "Tell me, what exactly do you want?"

"We're buying things."

Seeing her calm demeanor, the girls showed a hint of panic.

They came to catch their partner in the act.

The news spread throughout the compound that Commander Chen's wife was openly having an affair and was even meeting with the man at the Xifosi Market, not far from the compound.

How could such a heroic and handsome man like Commander Chen be so pitiful?

First, he was pestered by Dr. Cheng from the military hospital, but when Dr. Cheng saw that he was sick, he stopped caring about him.

Now he's married a wife, but she's still as promiscuous as ever.

Commander Chen was willing to tolerate it, but those who respected heroes could not.

So everyone spontaneously organized themselves to catch the adulterers in the act over the weekend.

Once they find something wrong with Commander Chen's wife, Commander Chen will definitely divorce her, which can be considered a good deed they've done.

"You won't tell the truth? Then let's go to the police station and see if you'll tell the truth then!"

As Xu Ruantang spoke, she was about to close the door and take them to the police station.

They were all teenage girls, and they had never seen someone speak so harshly before, so they immediately panicked.

"We're not buying it anymore, can't we just leave!"

"Leave? Who knows what you're up to? No, we can't leave."

Xu Ruantang pretended to be fierce, putting one hand on her hip to block their way.

She suddenly remembered the way everyone looked at her that morning, and instinctively felt that these people were related to that matter, so she kept them behind to find out the truth.

What are you doing?

Just as Xu Ruantang was struggling with them, a deep male voice came from behind her.

When Qiu Liang returned with his bicycle, he saw this scene and thought someone was causing trouble, so he put down his bicycle and walked over.

Even though Xu Ruantang is fierce, she doesn't look like that kind of person, so she's not scary at all.

But Qiu Liang was different. He was tall and burly, and his dark face was particularly intimidating.

The timid girl was so frightened that she started to sob, saying intermittently, "You're being unreasonable. You're the one who cheated on me, and you're still acting so self-righteous."
