“Miss Xu, this is Mr. Li’s treasure. Usually when I want to see it, he is unwilling to take it out, saying that it is handmade and will be damaged if it is handled too much.”
Yang Weidong held a water glass, his smile refined.
Xu Ruantang felt inexplicably uncomfortable.
She forced a smile. "Really? I'll look through it slowly and make sure I don't damage it."
Xu Ruantang didn't really want to continue talking to him, but Yang Weidong showed no sign of leaving.
He stood next to Li Shuyang's desk, one hand resting on the back of the chair Xu Ruantang was sitting in. "Ms. Xu, may I take a look at your drawings?"
Xu Ruantang frowned. "I think it's better not to."
Yang Weidong completely disregarded Xu Ruantang's attitude and continued, "I can tell that Professor Li admires you. He is our dean's prized student. It was the dean who personally recommended him for the position of staying at the university."
The spots for staying on at the university were already hard to come by; others were scrambling to get them, and Li Shuyang almost gave them up.
I really don't know what temptations he could have to give up such a good job.
"To impress Teacher Li, Miss Xu must have some real skills. Shall we exchange ideas?" Yang Weidong leaned closer. "Or is it that Miss Xu looks down on me?"
Just before he got close, Xu Ruantang stood up from her chair and took a step back.
She really wanted to slap this person's face with the book in her hand.
But then she thought again, this was Li Shuyang's colleague, and she had only asked for his help, so she shouldn't cause trouble for Li Shuyang.
Xu Ruantang's face turned cold. "Teacher Yang, I said I don't need it. Can't you understand human language?"
Footsteps were heard, and the office door opened.
Li Shuyang walked in quickly, carrying two cups of tea in his hands.
He first placed a cup in front of Xu Ruantang, then looked up at Yang Weidong and asked, "Teacher Yang, is there anything else?"
Yang Weidong shook his head, his gaze still fixed on Xu Ruantang, and chuckled, "It's nothing, I just chatted with Miss Xu for a bit."
After he finished speaking, he looked away and stood up straight. "Teacher Li, now that you're back, I won't disturb your reunion. I have something to do, so I'll go out for a bit."
After he left, Li Shuyang smiled apologetically at Xu Ruantang: "Third sister-in-law, I'm sorry, Teacher Yang came back from abroad and he doesn't know how to behave properly. People at school say he's frivolous."
Xu Ruantang sat back in her chair. "She is quite frivolous and lacks a sense of boundaries."
Li Shuyang thought she would say it was okay, but when he heard her straightforward evaluation, he burst out laughing.
Besides the booklet he had collected, Li Shuyang also found some internal teaching materials that were only available in schools and stuffed them all into Xu Ruantang's hands.
"Third sister-in-law, these books are too much to read in half a day. Take them back and read them at your leisure."
Xu Ruantang was somewhat surprised, "I can take this booklet back too?"
Teacher Yang just said that Li Shuyang treasures his things very much.
In retrospect, it seems that Yang Weidong was being petty.
Li Shuyang had his reasons for not lending him the money; the man didn't look like a good person at all.
Li Shuyang readily nodded, "Of course, feel free to look around. Just tell my sister when you're done, and I'll go back and get it."

She cooked, and Chen Ji was the head chef.

Xu Ruantang looked down to check the book in her hand; thankfully, it hadn't gotten wet.
When she looked up again, the rain was pouring down and the sky was so dark it seemed it could engulf the world at any moment.
"Summer is over, but why does the rain still come out of nowhere?"
Xu Ruantang made a comment.
Li Shuyang also raised his hand to feel the raging wind and rain, then turned around and said with a smile, "Third Sister-in-law, there's no time like the present, why don't you treat me to a meal at the cafeteria?"
Since she couldn't leave anyway, Xu Ruantang readily agreed. Treating her to a meal would leave her feeling indebted, which she was more than happy to accept.
When Li Shuyang joked with the students about sweet and sour pork ribs, Xu Ruantang took note of it.
There weren't many sweet and sour pork ribs left, just enough for two people, so she took care of them.
Li Shuyang chose two vegetarian dishes and ordered two bowls of rice.
Xu Ruantang felt that hosting a dinner party should be done properly, so she went and ordered another piece of meat.
It was pouring rain outside. Li Shuyang and Xu Ruantang found an empty seat and sat down to eat facing each other.
Would you like a drink?
Xu Ruantang pointed to the convenience store at the entrance.
Li Shuyang stood up immediately. "I'll go buy it. Third Sister-in-law, eat first if you're hungry."
He was tall and had long legs, so he quickly disappeared into the distance.
Xu Ruantang didn't even have time to call him back. If she had known this would happen, she would have gone to buy it first.
When inviting someone to dinner, there's no reason to eat first, so Xu Ruantang simply sat down and looked around the art academy's cafeteria.
