Chapter 290 Your dad is so good to you

As she spoke, Jia Shuling looked puzzled, as if she couldn't understand how she could have done all these things.

She moved her fingers, raised her uninjured arm, and patted her head.

“I feel uncomfortable if I don’t do that.”

"But why should I do that?"

"I have no idea."

Jia Shuling seemed to be talking to herself.

Xu Ruantang suddenly had a bold conjecture.

Is it possible that Jia Shuling was originally designed as a villainous female supporting character, but the author created the character simply for the sake of creating the character?

There was no reasonable motive at all, so the two-dimensional characters slowly awakened?

The turning point was this attack, which allowed Jia Shuling to see her own heart clearly.

It's strange that she likes Lu Shishen.

If you like him, why did you marry Chen Gang? Knowing that Chen Gang is like that, did you just want a status and position?

If she was after status and position, why would she like Lu Shishen?

Wanting both? That's illogical.

This is absolutely amazing!

Xu Ruantang stared at Jia Shuling excitedly, as if trying to see right through her.

Jia Shuling felt extremely uncomfortable under Xu Ruantang's gaze. Her mind was already full of questions, and she had to endure Xu Ruantang's blatant stare.

She frowned. "Xu Ruantang, are you going to sleep or not?"

Xu Ruantang immediately lay down, "Sleeping, sleeping."

She suppressed her excitement and slowly calmed herself down.

There was a moment of silence in the ward.

After a long while, Xu Ruantang said softly, "Second Aunt, don't listen to those distracting voices, just follow your heart."

Hopefully, after she awakens to her true self, she can become a good person who is not manipulated.

The old lady and Ye Lan came to the hospital in the afternoon.

I also brought Xu Ruantang a change of clothes, probably because Chen Ji called home.

My godmother has the key to her and Chen Ji's courtyard, so she went back to help her tidy up.

The old lady and Ye Lan went to Chen Gang's place first, and then came to Jia Shuling's place.

Jia Shuling seemed to have something to ask.

Xu Ruantang, who was sitting on the bed swinging her legs, instantly understood when she met her gaze.

She got out of bed and stood still. "Grandma, Mom, I'm going to see Wang Xiuxiu. You two stay with Auntie for a while."

Xu Ruantang carried the pork rib soup that Ye Lan had brought and walked slowly.

Ye Lan brought two portions, one of which was specifically for her, but she knew she couldn't finish it, so she planned to share it with Wang Xiuxiu and Lu Xiaozhao.

As soon as she pushed open the ward door, she heard a man's loud laughter.

"Hahaha, cousin, listen to this, it's hilarious."

She recognized the voice; it belonged to Shen Youyou's cousin, Yang Weidong.

They arrived really quickly.

"Ruan Tang, come and sit down."

Wang Xiuxiu leaned against the bedside with an IV drip in her hand, and Xiao Zhao lay asleep beside her.

There was a man sitting by the bed, skillfully peeling an apple.

Xu Ruantang approached a little closer, "President Huan?"

Huan Yuanliang kept working with his hands, "Xiao Xu, you're here? Want an apple?"

Xu Ruantang shook her head, "I won't eat."

She placed the soup on the table and said to Wang Xiuxiu, "My mom made pork rib soup. We'll drink it together when Xiao Zhao wakes up."

Huan Yuanliang had already peeled the apple in his hand, and he handed it to Wang Xiuxiu.

Wang Xiuxiu took it, "Okay."

She held the apple in her hand, turned to Huan Yuanliang and said, "President Huan, you go ahead and get busy. I'll be able to go back to work in a few days."

Huan Yuanliang took out a handkerchief and slowly wiped his hands. "You're already like this, so don't rush to go to work."

He paused for a moment, then said, "I'll contact Xiao Xu if anything comes up."

As they were speaking, the curtain between the two hospital beds was suddenly pulled open.

Yang Weidong, with a half-smile, gripped the curtain and looked at Xu Ruantang, saying, "Miss Xu, what a coincidence that we meet here!"

Xu Ruantang glanced at him indifferently, "Yes, we should thank your cousin. Without her push, we wouldn't all be gathered in the ward."

She spoke very bluntly.

The patient in the next bed, who was putting on a watch, paused, and his face turned pale.

Yang Weidong curled his lips and smiled knowingly: "Youyou has been spoiled by her family since she was a child. She has the mentality of a child."

He turned his gaze to Wang Xiuxiu on the hospital bed, his smile becoming even more roguish: "Beautiful lady, if my cousin has offended you in any way, I apologize on her behalf."

"You're too magnanimous to hold a grudge against someone who's so ignorant. Just consider it her ignorance and forgive her."

As soon as Yang Weidong finished speaking, he was hit on the back.

He turned his head and saw Shen Youyou holding a book, her face full of anger.

"Oh dear, are you angry?"

Yang Weidong, with his unbridled teasing, reached out and snatched the book from Shen Youyou's hands.

"Alright, why are you so easily angered every day?"

Shen Youyou's face was cold, her tone aggrieved, and her voice trembled slightly: "Shut up."

The words, though meant to be a reprimand, somehow sounded like she was being coquettish when she said them.

The object of her teasing was her cousin; if it were any other man, it would really be considered coquettishness.

Yang Weidong sat down next to her, put his hands in his pockets, and raised his chin: "Look, cousin, I brought everything you wanted."

Upon hearing this, Shen Youyou lowered her eyes and began rummaging through her bag.

Yang Weidong said unhurriedly, "I've brought you your watch, the book you wanted, your notebook and pen, as well as a change of clothes, toiletries, and even shoes."

After he finished speaking, he smiled at Huan Yuanliang next door and said, "Brother, you see, women are so troublesome. If it were us men, we could travel the world in just a pair of underwear."

Besides him, Huan Yuanliang was probably the only other man in the ward.

Yang Weidong felt like he had found a kindred spirit and started complaining to him.
