Chapter 347 He's still a child!

Footsteps came from upstairs.

Xu Ruantang looked up in surprise, thinking it was Chen Gang coming down.

He has been staying at home ever since the last incident.

But he has never shown his face.

Even at the family dinner on New Year's Eve, Jia Shuling, who usually doesn't show up during mealtimes, made an unprecedented appearance.

Chen Gang still did not come down.

Although the old lady looked worried, she ultimately said nothing and let it pass as if no one knew anything.

Looking up, Xu Ruantang realized she had been overthinking things.

It was a man and a woman, both with regular features, walking anxiously towards the crowd.

"Mom, what's wrong?"

Looking at his son lying on the ground throwing a tantrum, Ye Tianyou frowned and asked.

A hint of guilt flashed across my aunt's face, and her eyes darted around as she asked, "Why did you get off? Didn't you say you were standing on the train all day and wanted to sleep?"

Seeing his mother's evasive manner, Ye Tianyou instantly understood.

He didn't ask any more questions, but stared coldly at the child rolling on the ground, and said in a serious tone, "Ye Shijie, stand up!"

Ye Tianyou always presented himself as a strict father to Ye Shijie.

"If you have something to say, stand up and talk it out. You're a grown child now, do you really think throwing a tantrum will solve anything?"

Ye Tianyou's voice was very loud, but Ye Shijie was also crying loudly. The two voices collided, and for a moment it was impossible to hear who was saying what.

Seeing that he was unmoved, Ye Tianyou simply rolled up his sleeves and prepared to pick him up.

But Ye Shijie was like an eel; even if an adult grabbed him by the collar, he could still slip to the ground, as if he had no bones.

While trying to escape, he cried and screamed for help, looking at his aunt with snot and tears streaming down his face, "Grandma, Grandma! Grandma, Daddy's going to kill me, please save me! Waaaaaah!"

His nose turned red from crying.

When the family of three returned, they could only buy one seat ticket; the other two were standing tickets.

Ye Tianyou and his wife stood all night and gave their seats to their child.

The family waited for Ye Tianyou to finish work before heading straight to the train station. They haven't slept for two days and one night.

When they got back, their aunt kindly told them to go upstairs and sleep for a while.

Just as I was dozing off, I heard a pig-like scream coming from downstairs.

Ye Tianyou knew that children spoiled by their mothers would cause trouble wherever they went.

He tried to pull Ye Shijie up from the ground with a grim expression, but the kid was surprisingly strong, as stubborn as a mule.

Ye Tianyou felt his vision blurring, unsure whether it was from anger or exhaustion.

Just as his hand was slowly losing strength and Ye Shijie was about to break free from his grasp, a strong arm appeared in front of him.

Soon, Ye Shijie was easily lifted up.

Ye Tianyou straightened up, turned his head to look, and his expression changed.

"Chen Ji..."

Ye Tianyou had an innate fear of his third cousin.

He doesn't talk much, but he's efficient and decisive. I heard he's already a deputy brigade commander.

If Ye Shijie falls into his hands, he's probably not going to have a good time.

He's still hanging in mid-air, struggling like a little chick.

Ye Tianyou's aunt was even more anxious than he was. She didn't care about anything else and rushed over to snatch the child.

He was still screaming in anguish, "Chen Ji! Let him go! He's still a child!"

"My dad said, 'Spare the rod and spoil the child.'"

Chen Ji grabbed Ye Shijie's clothes with one hand and slowly spun around halfway, dodging his aunt's hand.

His voice was clear and crisp as he continued slowly, "Aunt, Shijie is not a child anymore. If he is not disciplined, he will be capable of anything in the future. The soldiers under my command were trained gradually."

Everyone's expression changed.

In previous years, Chen Ji completely ignored Ye Shijie. No matter how much trouble Ye Shijie caused, as long as he didn't come to him directly, Chen Jijie would simply turn a blind eye.

Even when the walls and sofa were vandalized by the mischievous children, Chen Ji didn't say anything.

That's why my aunt dared to suggest that their whole family move into the courtyard.

She thought to herself that Chen Ji was probably considering Ye Lan's feelings, since they were blood relatives after all.

But now, everything has changed.

Aunt's face turned pale instantly, and she said with trembling lips, "Chen Ji, how old are your soldiers? Shijie is only five years old. You can't possibly make him run with heavy loads, can you?"

"This child is immature. His parents are here and will teach him slowly. Don't be like this."

As she spoke, my aunt glanced at my uncle, who remained silent to the side, her eyes seeming to want to devour him.

The eldest uncle actually believed in Chen Ji.

He also felt that his grandson was too mischievous, and it was his honor to have the deputy brigade commander teach him.

Perhaps when this child grows up, he will want to be like Chen Ji!

"Ahem... My stepson knows his limits, so don't worry about it."

The eldest uncle spoke with a wandering gaze, then quickly looked at his son and daughter-in-law, his tone becoming much gentler.

"Tianyou, if there's nothing else, go upstairs and catch up on your sleep with your wife."

My aunt was so angry she was practically fuming.

Unfortunately, his son and daughter-in-law really turned around and left, completely ignoring Ye Shijie's wailing.

Ye Lan pulled Xu Ruantang along and walked into the main room.

"Ruan Tang, are you hungry? Come on, let's go inside and eat."

Everyone left in an instant, leaving only Chen Ji, who was still dragging Ye Shijie along, and his aunt, who was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan.

Ye Tianyou and his wife went to the backyard first and apologized to Xu Ruantang.

“Sister-in-law, Shijie is spoiled. If he does anything wrong while he’s at home.”

Looking at his beautiful sister-in-law, Ye Tianyou thought to himself, "No wonder Chen Jineng got married."

He once thought that his third brother's life would end like this.

As he spoke, Ye Tianyou paused, turned to look at his wife beside him, and said resolutely, "If Shijie does anything wrong, punish him if he needs to, scold him if he needs to, don't be soft-hearted!"

Xu Ruantang was prepared for them to say, "Give way to the child."

To her surprise, the young couple didn't follow the usual pattern, leaving her somewhat speechless.

"Okay, I understand."

Xu Ruantang smiled and said, "Go upstairs and rest."

Being a parent is really not easy.

After the two went upstairs, Xu Ruantang listened carefully, and the originally ear-piercing howling had stopped at some point.

Chen Ji's aunt couldn't bear to see her grandson suffer, so he asked her to accompany him.

Even during the Lunar New Year, Ye Shijie was actually dragged to the training ground by Chen Ji.

A cold wind was blowing, and the soldiers in the unit saw the two uninvited guests, one big and one small, and they all came out to surround them.

Ye Shijie had never seen anything like this before. He opened his mouth as if to cry, but a single look from Chen Ji silenced him.

On the way here, he didn't want to walk and, as he usually does at home, wanted to lie down on the ground.

People come and go in the compound, just like at home. Even the strictest father is afraid that his son will run wild outside.

That would make the adults lose face.

He rolled onto the ground with a thud, performing the scene that adults fear most.

But things took an unexpected turn.
