Xu Ruantang quickly pressed down on his shoulder, "No need, the doctor at the clinic has already seen him."
Chen Ji insisted, and Xu Ruantang couldn't persuade him otherwise.
In the end, it was broad daylight when Chen Ji carried her into the car and took her to the hospital.
Despite her repeated insistence that she could walk on her own and that the injury to her back was not serious, Chen Ji insisted on carrying her on his back.
If it weren't for the injury on his back, Chen Ji probably would have been carried in his arms.
The two went around the hospital, and what the doctor said was exactly the same as what the health department said, but Chen Ji still got the hospital to issue a diagnosis certificate.
"I see. You want to get a certificate so you can use it when the police come?"
Chen Ji was driving, and Xu Ruantang was sitting diagonally in the seat, guessing what was going on.
"Don't rush ahead in everything in the future. The earth will keep turning even without you."
Chen Ji's voice was low and cold, completely ignoring Xu Ruantang's words.
Xu Ruantang glanced at him and noticed that his handsome face was filled with a gloomy aura.
She pursed her lips. "That's your mother."
The two returned to the compound, and Chen Ji carried her on his back as before, heading straight back to the Chen family home.
As soon as Xu Ruantang arrived at the Chen family's gate, she sensed that something was wrong.
The main problem was that a lot of people had gathered in front of my house.
"I'm back!"
Someone shouted, and the crowd instantly parted to make way.
Seeing Chen Ji's cold expression as he carried Xu Ruantang on his back, many people dared not breathe.
But some of the bolder ones shouted, "Deputy Brigade Commander Chen, the police are at your house, and the Cheng family of three has also come! What's going on?"

Inside the main room, Chen Lin sat in the center with a dark expression.
Ye Lan sat beside him, tears streaming down her face, and cried, "Officers, my daughter-in-law will be back soon, you'll see for yourselves. And so many people at the banquet today can testify. We don't want any compensation, we just want a fair resolution!"
The police officers who came to the door looked at Chen Lin, then turned to look at Cheng's father, and then exchanged glances with each other.
They're just unlucky to have gotten into this mess.
Footsteps reached the main room, and the seated people all stood up.
Chen Ji, with a cold expression, gently put Xu Ruantang down and sat down on the sofa next to her.
Cheng Dan originally did not want to come to the Chen family.
But since the police have already come to her door, if she doesn't come, she'll have to go directly back to the police station with them.
Even when the police came to her door, Cheng Dan remained calm.

Ye Lan stood up and said to the two police officers beside her, "My daughter-in-law is back. You can take her away."
Before the two police officers could speak, Cheng's father spoke first: "Wait, Chen Ji, Dandan was in the wrong. I've heard what happened from her mother."
Mr. Cheng sat up straight and looked at Chen Ji, saying, "Dandan is ignorant. Uncle came here today not to plead for her, but to hope that you will give her a chance, a chance to apologize and ask for forgiveness."
Mr. Cheng's father had probably been in a position of power for too long, and his tone of voice was never gentle.
He was clearly pleading for mercy.
