No matter the reason, she was happy to cooperate.
After all, she really doesn't like egg yolks!
I've never understood egg yolks since I was a child. Eating one would make me choke for ages, and I couldn't even swallow water.
She slowly broke the egg open, separating the egg white from the yolk. Xu Ruantang held the egg white and said, "Here, take it."
"Give it to me, I don't have any hands." Chen Ji nodded his chin, indicating that he should hold the baby, as his hands were occupied!
Xu Ruantang: "......"
Chen Ji is truly the first person in history to put on a show to this extent!
Oh well, she didn't wash her hands anyway.
He pinched out the egg yolk and held it to Chen Ji's lips. The old man parted his thin lips slightly and took a bite.
Xu Ruantang almost bit her finger, but quickly withdrew her hand, feeling extremely fortunate that she had reacted quickly!
Chen Zheng walked over to Tang Wan and picked up an egg to peel. Xu Ruantang quickly chewed the egg white in her mouth and said, "Big brother, Chen Ji and I won't eat it. You peel it for your sister-in-law!"
Chen Zheng chuckled softly, his voice magnetic and pleasant as he spoke, "You two are full, but take a look at the little one in your arms, drooling all over the place."
Xu Ruantang looked over and almost burst out laughing.
Little Bao drooled all over the sofa, dripping everywhere, and was still imitating her chewing.
"It's all your dad's fault." Xu Ruantang took out a handkerchief, wanting to wipe Xiaobao's drool.
Perhaps she's teething, because she's been drooling a lot lately and is very interested in adult food.
Children don't like others touching their faces. Xu Ruantang wiped her face with a handkerchief, and Xiao Bao turned her head sharply, drooling instantly onto Chen Ji.
Hahahaha.
Xu Ruantang couldn't hold back any longer and burst into laughter, reaching out to rub Xiaobao's face. "Bao, how can you be so cute!"
Chen Ji took the handkerchief from her hand and gently wiped it on her damp shirt, a slight smile playing on his lips. "It's my fault."
Chen Zheng handed over an egg, and Xu Ruantang only dared to give Xiaobao a small piece of yolk to satisfy his craving.
Tang Wan and Chen Zheng exchanged a glance, and both smiled with relief.
My third brother and his family of three are living happily together now, and they seem to be having a good time.
Laughter and children's shouts mingled in the living room. Aunt Wang patted the old lady who was secretly peeking, startling her.
"Sister Guiying, stop looking! I've already told you, that couple has a very good relationship, but you still don't believe me."
The old lady then turned around and continued slicing cucumber. "How can I believe that? You've seen it yourself, my third grandson always has a long face and doesn't get close to anyone. What woman would want to live with an ice pop?"
She sighed again, "Sigh, Ruan Tang is such a good kid, she even managed to warm up the popsicle she brought."
"Of course! My goddaughter is such a wonderful girl, he should be secretly happy to marry her!"
Aunt Wang was very proud, and the scallions in her hand bounced up when she shook them.
As Aunt Wang was cooking, she picked up the vinegar bottle, but the old lady snatched it away, saying, "My third grandson doesn't like vinegar, don't put it in."
Chen Ji disliked sweet and sour flavors and preferred a light taste, a fact the old lady remembered very clearly.
Aunt Wang frowned. "That won't do. My stir-fried shredded potatoes are only good if my goddaughter likes them spicy and sour. She says that without vinegar, they're not... oh right, the soul of the dish!"
The old lady paused, holding the vinegar bottle, thinking, "The taste is so different, this won't do!"
The next second, with a flick of the wrist, the bottle tilted, and the vinegar poured into the pot.
Aunt Wang quickly said, "That's enough, that's enough, any more and it'll get too sour!"
"Okay, add some more chili, the sour and spicy flavor is what makes it special!" Although the old lady couldn't understand, she imitated Aunt Wang's way of speaking and added another large spoonful of chili powder.
The old lady got some tiger-head shoes from somewhere; the tiny pair looked adorable on the little one's feet.
Xiao Bao could barely stand, yet he was in a hurry to walk. He kept sliding down Chen Ji's arms, trying to get down.
Xu Ruantang then instructed Chen Ji to help Xiaobao walk around the living room a few times.
Chen Ji bent down, and with a gentle lift of his strong arms, Xiao Bao stood steadily on the ground. As soon as he landed, he stuck out his bottom and arched forward, his little legs moving rapidly.
Tang Wan and Chen Zheng couldn't stop laughing as the four adults and one child were having a great time when footsteps came from outside the door.
"Third brother, you're here?"
Jia Shuling swayed her hips and walked into the living room first.
Behind her, besides Cheng Dan, there was a middle-aged couple.
The middle-aged man had faint frown lines between his eyebrows and a serious expression.
The middle-aged woman became excited when she saw Chen Ji. "Ji'er, you're back? Let Mom see you quickly."
Chen Ji ignored Jia Shuling's words, picked up Xiao Bao and said gently, "Mom, I'm fine."
Despite Chen Ji's words, the woman still scrutinized him closely, as if she wanted to turn him over and examine him closely.
The woman asked with concern, "Your gunshot wound was so serious, is it really all healed? What did the doctor say? Did you go to the military hospital for a thorough check-up?"
"No, Mom will take you tomorrow. We'll get you a thorough checkup! We can't let anything stay wrong with you."
The middle-aged woman spoke gently, but her face showed great excitement.
Cheng Dan quickly stepped forward and said with a smile, "Auntie, Chen Ji's check-up is scheduled for tomorrow. Don't worry, I will accompany him throughout the entire process and make sure he has a thorough check-up."
After Chen Ji returned, she kept reminding him to get checked out, but she rarely had the chance to see him.
The checkup was arranged by Xu Hanli. She happened to run into him at the hospital, but couldn't get any information out of him, so she just had the checkup done at the hospital.
Thanks to her connections at the hospital, she quickly found out what had happened.
Tomorrow is Sunday. She wasn't originally going to the hospital, but now she's making time for Chen Ji.
