Chapter 4 Lin Chengyu's Scheme

The Lin family has two sons and a daughter. Only their youngest son, Lin Chengyu, grew up with his grandparents and not with the Lin family. It's normal that the Lin family abandoned him.

Of course, this is Lin Chengyu's thought after his rebirth. In his previous life, when he returned to Shanghai in the 1980s and saw the Lin family members being happy and the children being filial, he was furious.

He lacked food and clothing in the countryside, and when he went fishing at sea, he was deliberately pushed into the sea and choked on seawater. After being rescued, his body became very weak.

When he wrote to his parents wanting to return to the city, they disagreed and cut off all contact with him, not speaking to him for the next ten years.

It was as if he had never existed.

He had no choice but to continue living in the village despite his frail health. The villagers sympathized with his situation and no one bothered him, as they were all worried that he would become a dependent.

When the college entrance examination was reinstated and educated youth were allowed to return to their hometowns, Lin Chengyu's body looked as if he had aged thirty years, and his lifespan had been exhausted.

He died directly in the educated youth compound in Shengang Village.

He died with his eyes wide open in disbelief.

After his death, his soul returned to Shanghai and saw that when the Lin family received the news of his death, none of them uttered a single word of lament, let alone expressed their grief.

After that, his spirit remained in Shanghai, watching the city undergo tremendous changes with the reform and opening up, and with the changing times.

Lin Chengyu watched as the Lin family built their mansion, hosted banquets, and then collapsed.

Seeing this, he felt completely relieved.

He thought he would return to the underworld to be reincarnated, but when he woke up again, he found that he had been reborn.

She was reborn when the Song family couple were forced to go to the countryside and asked the Lin family couple and her fiancé, him, to take care of Song Ziqing.

This time, the Lin couple readily agreed to the Song couple's request, without considering his opinion at all, and agreed to send the engaged couple to the countryside.

As a result, the Lin couple obtained the key to the Song family's mansion, and they assumed that the mansion and the treasures hidden inside were all theirs for the Lin family to possess.

Lin Chengyu then monitored Song Ziqing's every move, which is how he discovered her various changes early on.

He was so envious of her cheat code that he knocked on her black stick, intending to snatch it away.

Unfortunately, he failed.

It also turned Song Ziqing into a completely different person.

He was pleased to see her go to the neighborhood office and rent the villa that the Lin couple wanted to own directly to the neighborhood office.

He was given a second chance at life, and all he wanted was to see the Lin family living a miserable life.

He also secretly searched for the treasures hidden by the Song family, but he knew nothing about the villa and found nothing.

However, Song Ziqing was his fiancée, and he felt that it would be a good choice for the two of them to become a real couple in the future. After all, he had watched Song Ziqing steal a large warehouse of gold, silver, jewelry, antiques, and calligraphy and paintings that Wang Dagang and his group had hidden.

Based on these factors alone, Lin Chengyu felt that living off Song Ziqing was a good option.

Thinking of this, Lin Chengyu unconsciously followed behind Song Ziqing, watching her wander aimlessly through the streets.

Song Ziqing wasn't actually wandering around aimlessly; she was simply looking for the legendary black market. She wanted to buy some living creatures to put in her ring space and see if it was possible to raise them. If it was, then she wouldn't lack food when she went to the countryside.

She also plans to buy more food, vegetables, and dry goods that can be stored, as well as many other daily necessities to store.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, Song Ziqing grew hungry again and finally bought two steamed buns in a small alley to eat.

The old woman selling steamed buns looked at Song Ziqing with pity, seeing that although she was pretty, she looked dusty and worn out. She asked, "Ziqing, little girl, I've seen you wandering around nearby. What are you looking for?"

"Grandma, I... I'm going to the countryside. I... I want to buy some things I'll need there. I... I don't have any ration coupons."

Song Ziqing wasn't stupid. She also noticed that the old woman was very kind and looked at her with a very familiar gaze. She must know the original owner of this body and wouldn't harm anyone, so she directly revealed her purpose.

“You, you’re so young and you have to go to the countryside? Don’t your parents care about you?! Sigh, things are going to get chaotic again, and I probably won’t be able to keep this stall open for much longer. Going to the countryside might actually be a good thing for you.”

The old woman had actually heard about Song Ziqing's family situation. She thought that with the Song couple's relationship and connections, they would make arrangements for their only daughter. However, she did not expect that Song Ziqing was still like a headless fly, searching for the black market everywhere on the street.

If someone with ulterior motives discovers this, Song Ziqing might be in trouble again.

He said with a reassuring look, "Ah Nan, you shouldn't wander around the streets. It's not safe for you to be alone with your appearance, let alone go to the black market. You should find someone to accompany you."

Hearing the old woman's words, Song Ziqing finally realized that she had made such a big mistake.

"Grandma, I... I forgot. I've had so many things happen to me lately that I forgot all about it. I'll go home in a bit. But Grandma, do you know where the nearest black market is? I want to go buy some things to take to the countryside."

Song Ziqing thought she was living in modern society, where young and beautiful girls could walk safely on the street even in the middle of the night. She didn't realize that she had traveled through time to the chaotic 1960s.

Her face is safe in modern times, but in the 1960s, her face was a disaster.

The original owner was harmed because of that face, married to a fool, and taken advantage of by her father-in-law. Just thinking about it made Song Ziqing tremble with fear.

She was careless.

That's really oversimplifying things!

Having made up his mind, Song Ziqing finished eating the steamed buns at the street stall, then bought a few more to take home and store in his ring space so he could eat them whenever he was hungry.

She also wanted to try whether her ring had a food preservation function.

After finding out the exact location of the black market, Song Ziqing quickly paid the money and ran home. Only after Ping An ran back to the yard and closed the gate did she feel relieved.

As soon as she entered the courtyard, she checked the surrounding wall for any signs of climbing. After searching around and finding no other traces, she returned to her room with peace of mind and quickly put the steamed buns into her spatial storage.
