The next day at noon, the Deng family sent someone to deliver a message saying that Deng's third sister-in-law had given birth to a son last night, and she would be notified to go back when the full moon day was confirmed.
Upon hearing the news, Deng Qingling asked Guo Jianping to visit her parents' home first when he went to the county town, and asked Guo Jianping to take some milk powder and brown sugar to her third sister-in-law, saying that they were for nourishing her and the child, and she would return to her parents' home after the full moon.
After Guo Jianping went to work, Deng Qingling took care of the children at home during the day and took the children to the space at night, so she could work and take care of the children at the same time.
Time flies. Today is the full moon day of Deng Qingling's third sister-in-law's son.
She got up early in the morning with Haohao, and after breakfast she said to her mother-in-law Liang Xueying: "Mom, my third brother's son is one month old today, Haohao and I will go back to see him."
Liang Xueying said: "Okay, there is nothing good at home, so I will catch a chicken for you, and bring you a pound of rice and brown sugar, that will be just right." Last time when her daughter-in-law was in confinement, her in-laws brought a lot of things, so she had to give something in return.
Deng Qingling said, "Okay, thank you, Mom." These days, only the mother-in-law is willing to do facials for her daughter-in-law.
Although I can take the things in the space back to my parents' home, there are not many relatives in that village. If I take a few good things back to my parents' home, I am afraid that someone will say that someone's daughter-in-law is taking good things from her husband's family back to her parents' home. If my husband's family hears it too much, they will inevitably have opinions.
In this way, Deng Qingling carried Haohao on her back, holding a chicken in her right hand, a bamboo basket in her left hand, and a bag in front of her. When she reached the mountain pass and saw that there was no one around, she put Haohao down, wrapped him in a diaper, and put him back on her back, for fear that his clothes would get wet halfway through the journey.
He soon reached the vicinity of Tianxin Village, put Haohao down and changed his diaper back, then put him back on his back. He picked up his things, added a piece of pork and a bag of White Rabbit milk candy to the bamboo basket, and walked back quickly.
When Deng Qingling returned to the village, she ran into an acquaintance. Her aunt saw that she was carrying a lot of things and a child on her back, so she said, "Ah Qing, you're back. Did you walk here by yourself? You're carrying a child and so many things. Why didn't you ask your husband to drive you in an ox cart?"
Deng Qingling said, "Aunt, I thought it wasn't far down the mountain, so I didn't ask my father-in-law to bring it over."
My aunt said, "Yeah, do you want me to help you carry the things? You must be tired after walking such a long way." What a filial child.
She brought so many things back to her parents' home. It's a pity that she didn't marry my nephew, otherwise I would have had a share of these things.
No, it’s a good thing she didn’t get married, otherwise her parents’ home would have been emptied out.
Deng Qingling said: "No need, I'll be home soon, no need to trouble you, we can talk another day." It would be difficult if two enemies met.
Deng Qingling was also aware of the conflict between her aunt and her own mother. Both of them were stubborn and refused to give in. It was really easy to make enemies but difficult to resolve them.
"Okay, you can go back," my aunt said, waving her hand.
Before Deng Qingling even reached the door, she saw her eldest brother's little daughter running out, "Aunt, you're back. Give me the things, I'll take them."
"You're so good. I'm tired too," Deng Qingling said as she handed the chicken to her.
After entering the house, Deng Qingling put down all her things and saw her own mother and her third sister-in-law's mother walking out of her third sister-in-law's room. She walked over and called out, "Mom, Auntie, please help me carry Haohao down first." After that, she untied the baby's sling.
Liang Haidi picked up Haohao directly. Haohao was sleeping, but he woke up as soon as she was put down. When he saw the unfamiliar environment, he burst into tears.
Liang Haidi coaxed the baby skillfully, "Hey, hey, Haohao, don't cry, Podai will take you to see Niu Niu."
Soon Haohao stopped crying and showed a toothless smile.
Deng Qingling took the candies and went to find her nephews and nieces. She still trusted her mother. She had raised so many children, so it was impossible for her not to be able to coax Haohao.
"Come, come, come, come here, come to your aunt, your aunt will give you candy," Deng Qingling shouted.
As soon as she finished speaking, a group of children rushed over and surrounded Deng Qingling. There were her own children and her relatives' children, and they were chattering all the time.
"Aunt, give me some candy"
"Auntie, give me some candy first" sounded like hundreds of ducks quacking.
Deng Qingling shouted loudly, "Line up, everyone line up, if you don't line up, you won't get anything to eat." It was so noisy that it gave people a headache.
Sure enough, this was very effective. Seven or eight children quickly lined up in a row and each was given two candies. Some children took them and ate them, while others were reluctant to eat them and put them in their pockets.
After handing out the candy, Deng Qingling went to her third sister-in-law's room. Seeing her feeding and patting her baby to train them to sleep, she whispered, "Third sister-in-law, how are you? Are you okay? Is your baby obedient?"
Deng's third sister-in-law said: "It's okay, he has recovered. The baby is very obedient and will be trained after eating. He is very well behaved."
The two exchanged some parenting tips, and soon Liang Haidi came to call them out for dinner, and they chatted again after dinner.
It was really relaxing when I was at my mother's house. I had so much free time, the meals were cooked, and there were people to help take care of the kids. Time always passed quickly. As the sun moved westward, it was time for Deng Qingling to go home.
In a few days it was June.
Soon, it was June 16th, the day of the Great Heat.
Rice and corn are planted around Qingming Festival and harvested around Great Heat.
During the summer harvest, students are already on summer vacation. Except for those with mobility impairments and children under five years old, all other able-bodied people have to participate in the labor.
Deng Qingling was no exception, except that she only worked half a day.
When harvesting corn, she would take care of the children at home in the morning, and ask the child's grandmother to look after him while she put him to sleep at noon. She would cook the meals, deliver them, and then eat with them. After that, she would pick corn and would go home at five or six o'clock.
When I was breaking the corn, the corn leaves were a bit cutting, making my whole body uncomfortable, itchy and painful. It was even more uncomfortable when I sweated, and my wrists and neck were covered with red bumps.
As soon as the time came, Deng Qingling ran home and did nothing but take a bath, feed Haohao, and then prepare dinner.
