The three brothers stared at the meat in the bowl for a while before they realized that it was really pork.
I can’t remember how long it has been since I last saw meat.
Zhang Lihua excitedly took the bowl and said, "Fourth brother is so generous. We're having meat tonight, and the three kids are craving it too."
Li Lizhu thought of chopping the meat into pieces and making meat patties to eat.
Instead, Yang Daya took the meat out of the bowl and put it in her own bowl, then washed the bowl with water.
"Xiangnan, come here and give the bowl to your aunt."
Li Xiangnan came over happily with a few candies in his hand, "Mom, hold them for me."
"You're so generous to let me hold it, aren't you afraid that I'll eat it for you?"
Upon hearing this, Li Xiangnan said hesitantly: "I'll take it myself, mother, you give it to me."
"Go and serve the bowl quickly. I can't possibly snatch the food from you."
The children were so attracted by the candy that they didn't notice the meat on the table at all.
Li Mingqing and Sun Jiaxue brought the last piece of meat to Old Lady Li's room and gave her two red apples.
"Mom, don't be reluctant to eat it. It's warm now, and it will go bad if you keep it for too long."
"You two come over every now and then to eat, and your father and I have become fat."
Li Mingqing didn't notice that she had gained weight at all. Her face was actually a lot rosier because of drinking the spiritual spring water.
"If you and your father can't stay idle at home, I won't stop you from going to work, but you must take care of your health and don't work too hard. I can support you, son."
"Mom knows, you don't know how much the older ladies in the village envy me."
Old Mrs. Li couldn't hide the smile in her eyes; it was a genuine joy.
"Dad, Mom, we're going back."
"You guys stay here for dinner and try my cooking." Old Lady Li persuaded them to stay.
"We've eaten. Let's come back another day." He took Sun Jiaxue's hand and left.
