Chapter 831 Mother

"Ming Qing, something's wrong! Old Lady Zhang is here again!" Ye Hongzhuo took a deep breath. "I'll get off the car and deal with the old lady later. You leave now."

"Old Lady Zhang?" Li Mingqing was confused. "Could she be Zhang Dehai's biological mother?"

Ye Hongzhuo smiled bitterly and said, "Congratulations, you got the answer right."

"Looking at your appearance, the old woman must have come here often."

"I'm used to it. She comes to me every now and then to make trouble. Since we've known each other for so many years, I've tried to persuade Old Lady Zhang in every possible way, but it's a pity that I can't persuade her."

Li Mingqing asked, "Is there such a thing?"

"I understand that I miss my son so much," Ye Hongzhuo said with pity. "Leave quickly and don't let her get involved with you, or there will be trouble."

Li Mingqing raised his head and made eye contact with Old Lady Zhang.

"I'm afraid I can't leave."

Ye Hongzhuo looked up and saw Old Lady Zhang staring at Li Mingqing.

"If I had known, I wouldn't have sent you off. You're in trouble now."

"Get off the car," said Li Mingqing.

He stopped her and said, "Don't get off here. I'll back up."

Fortunately, there weren't so many people at noon, but it was not appropriate to be at the door.

Li Mingqing reminded, "The old woman shouldn't let you reverse the car. Be careful, she might lie down in the back."

"I have experience," Ye Hongzhuo said with a bitter fate.

"To be honest, I have experience in communicating with old ladies."

"Now is not the time to joke around. Zhang Dehai's mother is no ordinary old woman. Although she's old, she's more capable than young men in combat."

Ye Hongzhuo said as he reversed the car.

Old Lady Zhang climbed onto the hood of the car with incredible agility and lay on it steadily.

Through the glass, it looks like a ghost.

The sound of nails scratching on glass was particularly harsh.

"Dean Ye, you have a strong psychological endurance."

"My heart is filled with tears," he said with a wry smile. "You know why I went to visit Zhang Dehai? I wanted him to write a letter to comfort his elderly mother."

"He promised to write to his mother?"

Li Mingqing didn't expect Zhang Dehai to be so easy to talk to.

Ye Hongzhuo said awkwardly, "I'll go and try to persuade him some other day."

"I sympathize with you, but what about the other Zhang family members? The old lady is so old, aren't they worried?"

"I can't persuade her. My only son is locked up. I'm just thankful that she didn't attack me with a knife," Ye Hongzhuo backed the car to the open space behind the hospital.

Open the door and get out.

"Auntie, why are you here again?"

Old Lady Zhang put her hands on her hips and cursed, "Bah, you rotten-hearted bastard! When will Dehai come out? Give me a definite answer, or I'll come every day."

"Auntie, you can go see him."

"I'm not going! Let my son out now! I'm not done with you! I've lived enough at my age. If you can't handle this, I'll hang myself in front of the hospital."

Ye Hongzhuo took a deep breath and advised, "Auntie, don't be impulsive."

"Hurry up and find someone to release my son!"

Li Mingqing looked at her aggressive expression and said, "Auntie, Comrade Zhang Dehai has made a serious mistake."

"Big mistake? How can it be a big mistake if it's not murder or arson?"

Old Mrs. Zhang pointed at him and shouted.

"He embezzled so much money for life-saving treatment, not just for one or two people," Li Mingqing advised. "Auntie, the country has its own laws. If your son makes a mistake, he must stand at attention and be punished."

"Who are you? What's your business?" She looked at Ye Hongzhuo and asked, "Is he your lackey?"

Li Mingqing smiled, they were indeed mother and son.

"Auntie, I'm the director of Mingren Hospital."

Old Lady Zhang took a look and said, "Dean? Two deans, just in time, get my son out."

Ye Hongzhuo's eyes went dark.

Just fish, fish, fish. That’s all you know how to fish.

Did he just grab it whenever he wanted? It's hard to explain this to the old man.

"Auntie, why don't you stay at home and take care of your grandson? Don't waste your time here."

"Ye Hongzhuo! You used some trickery to send my son to jail, you can't just ignore it," she threatened. "When I said hanging, I wasn't kidding."

Li Mingqing said calmly, "Death by hanging is not a pretty sight."

"You——" Old Mrs. Zhang trembled with fear.

Most people avoid talking about death when they get older.

What's more, Mrs. Zhang, whose son is in prison, dreams of her son coming back.

At this age, I just want to be reunited with my family.

He added, "Auntie, I just heard from Dean Ye that you have a great-grandson. How wonderful it would be to have a grandson to play with. You've lived to this age and experienced a lot. You should understand that there is a price to pay for making mistakes."

Old Lady Zhang snapped, "De Hai is right!"

"Isn't that right? If you don't believe what Dean Ye and I said, then don't you believe in the country either?"

"I didn't say that. The great man led us to emancipate the serfs and sing, and the common people became masters of their own destiny. But he is my own son. I don't have many years left to live. I just want Dehai to take care of me in my old age and see me to the end of my life," said old lady Zhang choking up.

Ye Hongzhuo sighed and said, "Auntie, go home first. You will receive a letter from Dehai in a few days."

"I won't leave," she cried, "it's all your fault."

Li Mingqing advised: "Auntie, you should go back. It won't help even if you stay in the hospital."

"I only have this one son left. How can I watch him be imprisoned for life?" Old Mrs. Zhang cried heartbrokenly. "Back then, my eldest son insisted on going to the war. I carried him for ten months and raised him with great difficulty. But he walked for more than two months to reach the battlefield, wearing only thin clothes and straw sandals, carrying a tattered gun. He died in the time it took to eat a meal."

"From now on, I will be half your son," Li Mingqing choked.

The battlefield back then was a giant meat grinder.
