When we arrived at the town government, there were only five or six people there, and then dozens of people came one after another.
"Ming and Qing, these are representatives of each village."
Li Mingqing looked around and found that he was the only young man. Apart from him, the youngest one looked to be in his thirties.
"Uncle Village Chief, I'm a bit rare at my age, but I won't bring shame to our Li Village."
The village chief and the team leader were finally relieved. They had been worried that Li Mingqing would lose his composure.
Soon the mayor came over with a flashlight.
The first person he noticed when he came over was Li Mingqing, who stood out among the tall crowd.
"Comrade Li, why are you here?"
"Mayor, I'm here to attend the learning and exchange conference."
The mayor quickly reacted and praised: "Not bad, at such a young age, you have become the study team leader."
"That's a huge compliment. It's the villagers who think highly of me."
Li Mingqing was so humble and his feelings were genuine.
His performance made many people like him, but there were still many people who felt that he was too young to do the job, and many people recognized that he was the one who could drive a tractor.
The village chief and the team leader never thought that he would know the town mayor.
The exchange meeting lasted for more than an hour before it ended, and Li Mingqing was so confused that his head was about to explode.
"Uncle village chief, uncle team leader, let's go back to the village."
"How was your first visit?"
"That's great. You guys can come next time and just let me know when the time comes."
The village chief smiled and said, "Don't even think about it. Everyone knows you. You have no choice but to come."
Li Mingqing instantly felt like he was on a pirate ship.
Just when he was about to have a good talk with the two elders, a cry of surprise came from the crowd.
"Old Zhao, what's wrong with you?"
When he went over, he saw an old man who had suddenly fallen ill and fell to the ground unconscious.
Before he could decide whether to save his foot, he had already taken a step forward.
"Everyone, move aside."
Li Mingqing went over and took the pulse, then took out a silver needle and quickly inserted it into Village Chief Zhao's body.
"Is Village Chief Zhao okay? Are you okay? If anything happens to the Village Chief, I won't be able to explain myself back to the village."
The mayor said worriedly, "Comrade Li, how is Lao Zhao?"
"Don't worry, Mayor. This life has been saved."
As expected, Village Chief Zhao slowly opened his eyes, completely unaware of what had happened. "Why am I lying on the ground?"
"Thank goodness for Comrade Li, otherwise your life would be in danger."
Li Mingqing wanted to wave his hand and said, "It just happened that I went to see the village chief on Sunday because he fainted from exhaustion."
The people around him never expected that he could be so proficient in using silver needles at such a young age, and the way they looked at him was different.
The village chief and the team leader were also shocked.
When they saw him saving Xu Dagou's wife before, they thought it was just luck, but just now they saw it with their own eyes and it really did require real kung fu.
Li Mingqing left with the village chief and the team leader under everyone's inquiring gaze.
Now he became completely famous, and people in the surrounding villages were talking about his heroic deeds.
"Where did you learn this skill, Li family kid?"
"I followed a traveling medical practitioner before, but he only knew the basics."
The team leader and the village chief looked at each other, and since the village chief was unwilling to say anything, they did not continue to ask.
The three of them returned to Lijia Village under the moonlight.
When he was at the entrance of the village, Li Mingqing saw his wife standing there.
"Wife, what are you doing here? It's pitch dark. What if something happens?"
"It's okay. Two aunts just passed by here. Besides, I have a flashlight."
Sun Jiaxue couldn't stand staying at home alone, so she thought of coming to greet them.
The village chief and the team leader were very tactful and left to give the young couple some time alone.
"Jiaxue, don't come out next time. It's too dangerous."
"Brother Mingqing, have you had dinner?"
"Not yet. What a delicious meal! I'm exhausted this evening."
"I made your favorite dumplings and will cook them when we get home."
The two walked home hand in hand, a rare walk under the moon. From time to time, laughter and children's noises could be heard from the village.
At the door, I saw Old Lady Li hurriedly coming out of the yard.
"Mom, where are you going so late?"
She was relieved to see the couple coming back together. She had just looked around but couldn't find Sun Jiaxue, which made her very anxious.
"Where have you been, kid? Why didn't you tell me you were going out?"
"Mom, I'm going to the village entrance."
"You scared me so much that I broke out in a cold sweat. Fortunately, nothing happened."
Sun Jiaxue knew she was worried, and her heart warmed. She went over to her, supported her, and said, "I made dumplings. Come and eat with Dad."
"You two can eat, we just ate."
Back in the house, Sun Jiaxue was busy making dumplings, while Li Mingqing was talking about what happened today.
Sun Jiaxue listened with great interest and felt as if she was there.
"Brother Mingqing, thank you for your hard work. I tidied up the vegetable garden today, and the rapeseed we planted is growing well. We'll be able to eat it in a few days."
Li Mingqing praised: "That's amazing. I know nothing about growing vegetables. It seems we complement each other quite well."
Sun Jiaxue smiled when she heard what he said.
The next morning, Zheng Chenggong came to Lijia Village with some pieces of glass.
The rumbling sound of the pickup truck attracted villagers to come and watch.
As soon as Li Mingqing went out, he saw a small truck in front of the new house and Zheng Chenggong and the Wei brothers standing next to it.
"Brother Zheng, come in quickly."
