Chapter 6 Who stole the eggs (2/2)

Su Ningning sold a total of 23 bowls of fish soup noodles today, earning a total of four yuan and ten cents. The crucian carp was caught by her from the river. Noodles with soybeans and miscellaneous beans are relatively cheap in nature, and a large pot of flour only costs a few cents. Adding the cost of oil, chopped green onions, and vegetables, her net profit is four yuan!

If you work a little more every day, you can earn at least five dollars a day. Even if you only set up the stall for twenty days a month, you can earn hundreds of dollars!

One hundred yuan is a huge sum of money for people of this era. If Suningning really had that much money, wouldn't she be able to eat whatever she wants and study however she wants?

She was full of anticipation and walked with a light heart. She even imagined that when she made some money, she would buy herself a bicycle to ride. Otherwise, it would be inconvenient to always have to borrow one from others.

When Su Ningning was home, her family was still working in the garden. Usually, she and Su Lanlan were responsible for the housework at home and did not need to work in the garden.

But Su Lanlan has been lying in bed these days and refuses to get out of bed, so Su Ningning has to do the housework.

But Su Ningning also did things selectively. Her mother Wang Yumei would take her parents' clothes, her brother's wife's clothes, and her clothes to the river to wash in the morning. Whoever wanted to wash the eldest wife's clothes could wash them. She would sweep the yard with a broom in a short while, feed the chickens for a few minutes, and her main job was to cook.

Su Ningning also didn't want to eat food cooked by others. She thought her own cooking was the best. However, it was not easy to cook for more than a dozen people at once. Su Ningning couldn't help wondering, there were so many people in the family, why couldn't the first and second wives eat separately?

It would be great if we could really separate the family. With two big families mixed together, there would inevitably be a lot more trouble.

Thinking this, Su Ningning went to collect firewood to prepare dinner, but when she poked the hole in the pot, she immediately found something wrong. There seemed to be an egg shell in the hole!

The Su family always saved their eggs for eating during the New Year or other festivals, or for entertaining guests, or for selling them. How could there be egg shells here? Could it be that the weasel stole the eggs?!

But in Suningning's opinion, the people from the first house are more suspicious than the weasel!

After all, the person in charge of collecting eggs at home is Su Lanlan's mother Chen Jiao'e, so it's possible that someone from the first wife's house stole the eggs!

Su Ningning had doubts in her mind and began to observe secretly. As luck would have it, she discovered something fishy that night.

Su Lanlan still didn't come out to eat in the evening. In order to be angry with her father, her mother Chen Jiao'e brought in a bowl of noodle dumplings, but it was brought out intact. Su Ningning just didn't believe it. How could this person not be hungry if she didn't eat?

But she had observed over the past two days that Su Lanlan didn't look like she hadn't eaten. Normally, if a person skipped two of the three meals a day, their mental state would be different. Su Lanlan must have eaten something in private.

It was late at night and everyone was asleep. Su Ningning was reading a book when she suddenly heard a noise outside. In the past, everyone would have thought it was the sound of someone getting up at night, but this time, Su Ningning immediately put down the book and quietly opened the door.

The kitchen was pitch black, but Su Ningning still walked over in the dark. In the dim moonlight, she saw that the kitchen door was tightly closed. It was almost one o'clock in the morning, when everyone was fast asleep.

What's more, it's pitch dark in the countryside at night. Most people are afraid and can't wait to go back to their rooms after getting up at night.

But Su Lanlan walked and stopped at the kitchen door.

She pushed the door open suddenly, and Chen Jiao'e, who was stewing eggs in the dark in the kitchen, screamed "Ah!" in fright, which immediately woke up the entire Su family!
