Chapter 202: Inquiry (Additional chapter 3-2 for the Heshi Bi reward to Jiang Jiang 567)

Jiang Jun looked at Jiang Lan speechlessly.

Less than half a year after she left home, Jiang Lan had returned to her old ways.

"Sister, how many days will you stay at home? Are you going to work again? Oh, your clothes are so pretty, where did you buy them? I want them too!" Jiang Lan was only interested in looking at the new things and kept talking: "That's great, sister, you're at home, we can go out and play. It's a pity that our mother and uncle took the bicycle, otherwise you could take me out to play."

Jiang Jun couldn't stand it any longer. She came back to recuperate, not to go on vacation. She was still going out to play: "Look at my hands. I can't ride a bike even if I have one!"

Jiang Lan exclaimed, "Sister, your voice is so terrible! What's going on? What's wrong with you?"

Jiang Jun closed his eyes. With a sister like this, what kind of help could he expect from her? If she didn't cause trouble, he would be secretly smiling. "Go get me some water. I'll take some medicine."

Jiang Lan went to the kitchen to pour water and noticed something had changed in the backyard. She rushed to the hut in the backyard, took a look around, and ran out: "Sister! Did you pry open the lock of the hut? Mom will be so angry when she comes back! After you left, she turned the house upside down and changed the locks."

He also cursed her with a lot of ugly words! Jiang Lan added silently in her heart, it was so ugly that even her grandmother couldn't stand it and got angry with her mother.

Jiang Jun didn't care. She'd taken the medicine and could speak a few words now. She'd be fully recovered in a few days, by the weekend. Even if Zhang Xiuying came back and wanted to argue with her, she wouldn't be afraid. "Xiaolan, water!"

Jiang Lan stuck out her tongue and said, "I forgot!" She ran to the kitchen and brought out a bowl of water. "Sis, I didn't see your cup, so I used the bowl."

Jiang Lan finally remembered that her sister didn't like sharing bowls and cups with others.

Jiang Jun took the medicine, looked at his curious sister, and preemptively asked, "How's school going for you? Who did you meet? Why did you go to their house for dinner?"

Jiang Lan pouted: "It's Aunt Tian's house. They're having dumplings today and asked me to go, so I went."

Jiang Jun rolled his eyes, displeased with Jiang Lan's greedy look: "Auntie Tian asked what did I tell you?"

Jiang Lan lay on the dining table carelessly: "I didn't say anything, I just asked why our dad hasn't come back yet, is he not coming back?"

"What else did Aunt Tian ask?"

"Well, let me think about it. Oh, and I asked you where you were going."

"She's asked this more than once, hasn't she?"

"Yeah, Auntie Tian and Mom were always guessing where you were! Once they even said you ran off with someone!"

Jiang Jun's face changed. This Aunt Tian was not a good person either. She was blatantly provoking and slandering him. Only Zhang Xiuying would believe it, right?

"From now on you..." Jiang Jun hesitated to speak.

Jiang Lan asked curiously, "What will happen next?"

Jiang Jun waved her hands, too lazy to say anything more. Jiang Lan simply didn't learn her lesson. If she didn't keep an eye on her, Jiang Lan would go back to her old ways in three days. She'd better not waste her energy.

Jiang Lan said heartlessly: "Sister, you must be tired. You are so sick, but how did our teacher know you were sick? And he specially asked me to take a vacation to come back and take care of you."

Jiang Yun's head was smoking: "Your teacher asked you to come back and take care of me?"

Jiang Lan tilted her head and looked at her sister: "He didn't ask me to take care of you, he just asked me to stay at home for a few days and wait for notice before going to school."

Jiang Jun frowned slightly. Jiang Lan had gone home, so would Qiangzi also be given a day off? What about Zhang Xiuying? What about my uncle and aunt?

"Xiaolan, who else in your school has a holiday?"

"There are only two. One is me, and the other is a boy from the third grade. I don't know his name, but I know where he lives."

"Where do you live?"

"It's in Building 27, the second one from the front. His mother sometimes takes him for a walk. His classmates tease him and nickname him Morning Glory. Oh, and I think his name is Niu Zhuangzhuang."

"What does his father do?"

"have no idea!"

Building 27, right next to the health center.

Jiang Jun came up with an idea. He took the bowl of water, stood up and went to the kitchen. He deliberately tilted the bowl and poured the unfinished water onto his hands.

"Oh, Xiaolan, my hands are wet. Come with me to the health room to change the medicine."

"Okay!" Jiang Lan never sits still. As long as she's going out, no matter where she goes, she'll lock the door for you. Grandma and Grandpa have the key to the front door.

Jiang Jun carried the backpack, Jiang Lan locked the door, hung the key around her neck, and held the medicine powder and ointment for her sister, walking quickly.

"Sister, why are you walking so slowly?" Jiang Lan finally realized something was wrong: "What's wrong with your feet?"

To make it easier to put on shoes, Jiang Jun only applied ointment without gauze or socks. He wore cloth shoes barefoot. When he walked, his trouser legs rubbed against the wound, which made him feel a little uncomfortable. "Xiao Lan, if you keep yelling, I'm going to faint. You're making my head hurt."

Jiang Lan took Jiang Yun's arm and said, "Sister, let me help you walk. I told you I'm here to take care of you. Sister, if you go home, your salary won't be deducted, right?"

Jiang Jun was annoyed: "Didn't you hear that I ran away with someone?"

Jiang Lan pouted: "I didn't say that!"

Jiang Yun felt that she had to educate Jiang Lan promptly and pull the crooked seedling back to the right path: "I am your sister. No matter what happens to me, when others are making wild guesses or saying bad things about me, you must defend me and speak out loudly to stop them. Otherwise, people will think that if the elder sister is bad, the younger sister must not be a good person either."

Jiang Lan was stunned: "Ah? Is this true?"

Jiang Jun nodded at Jiang Lan: "Do you remember when we went to the open-air movie and they couldn't grab your seat, they said you were just like our mom, always quarreling!"

Jiang Lan felt a little aggrieved: "Yes."

Jiang Jun continued to enlighten Jiang Lan: "And your classmate named Liu Yan, she always talks about her dad's goodness in front of you, right? Are you particularly envious of her for having such a good father?

Look at our family. Zhang Xiuying keeps saying that our dad is not good in this way or that way. When Liu Yan praises her dad, do you have nothing to say?

"Our dad is taller than Liu Yan's dad, has better handwriting, cooks delicious meals, and never speaks ill of anyone, right? He never even speaks ill of Zhang Xiuying, right?"

This series of words confused Jiang Lan, who could only reply, "Hmm!"

Jiang Jun said it all in one breath and felt much better. He cleared his throat and it seemed that his throat was not so hoarse anymore.

She lost her voice when she was at Chen's house, probably because of her anger. It was not until she heard Zhang Mingtao tell her about Jiang Yonghua's whereabouts that she began to be able to make a little sound.

"While I'm applying medicine in the clinic, you go and walk around in front of Niu Zhuangzhuang's house. Just look and don't talk. And you can't say anything to me unless I ask you. Remember that?"
