Chapter 22 Mother and Daughter

"Maybe the kids in the yard are still playing." Jiang Yonghua returned the drawing paper to Jiang Yun, opened the curtains and checked the latch. After confirming it was secure, he reminded her again, "Xiaojun, remember this: if you hear any noise again, don't open the window. Ask loudly who it is. If anything happens, the family might hear it too."

This must be emphasized again. Last time someone broke into the warehouse, they announced to the outside world that nothing was stolen. However, they found out through an internal confidential meeting that ten discarded bullets were lost. The soldiers on duty were punished, and the superiors also specifically reminded Jiang Yonghua to pay more attention to the situation at home, because when the accident happened, only someone from the Jiang family was there. It stands to reason that they could not have escaped so quickly, and they were probably hiding somewhere.

"Xiaojun, the situation outside is very serious right now. Bad guys are everywhere. You'd better be careful." Jiang Yonghua turned around and said to Zhang Xiuying, "You too, when you're at home during the day, you should pay more attention to what's going on outside."

Zhang Xiuying finally got a chance to enter the hut, and now she had to look for some clues in front of Jiang Yonghua: "Wait, if there is someone hiding in this room, there really is a place to hide!"

As Zhang Xiuying spoke, she squatted down to look under the bed, then stood up to open the wooden box.

Jiang Jun became angry, his face showing impatience: "How could there be someone inside!"

In this family, it seems that just by virtue of being a mother, she can rummage through her children's belongings at will without even asking for permission.

"Someone has moved this box!" Zhang Xiuying felt the excitement of catching a thief: "What's wrong with this bed sheet? It wasn't originally placed there!"

Jiang Jun held back her anger and whispered, "I'm trying to find a piece of cloth to learn embroidery, but I can't find any. My classmates are all learning embroidery and knitting."

Many of my female classmates' mothers can embroider and knit sweaters. The popularity of needlework in the compound also comes in waves. For example, the most popular this year is knitting interlaced sweaters.

Fortunately, Jiang Yonghua believed in her: "Girls are growing up and knowing how to appreciate beauty, which is good." He also had high hopes for her: "When the time comes, draw a beautiful pattern and knit a sweater for your dad."

Zhang Xiuying didn't accomplish anything, so she was naturally unhappy. Before leaving, she gave Jiang Yun a fierce look and walked back to her room with heavy steps.

This unexpected incident, which was a close call, forced Jiang Yun to be extremely cautious.

Lying in bed, I recalled my parents in another time and space, a couple with devout religious beliefs who were always very tolerant of her and respected any choice she made.

Jiang Jun regretted her single status, which she had once been proud of. How lonely her parents must be when she left that time and space!

Will Jiang Heng take care of her parents on her behalf?

As Jiang Yun thought about it, her tears unknowingly wet the pillowcase.

She must return the favor to be worthy of Jiang Yonghua's trust.

The next morning, Jiang Jun sat in front of the window and worked hard to draw patterns, patterns to be knitted on sweaters.

Oh, God knows how she could say such a thing, what a stupid idea she came up with in a hurry!

Now I really need to knit!

He Xiangdong knocked on her window and asked her to go out and play, but she refused: "I want to stay home and cook! And I also need to paint!"

In the name of safety, Zhang Xiuying watched Jiang Jun closely, like a farmhand. She would run to the backyard and walk around Xiaolan's room, almost whipping him.

How could Zhou Baopi's high-pressure policy control Jiang Yun? She didn't go out to play, she just didn't want to go out to play.

He Xiangdong stuck his head in through the window and tilted his head to look at Jiang Yun's painting: "This flower is really beautiful. Embroidering pillows and door curtains is really nice to look at. My mom is also embroidering."

This lovely classmate appeared at the right time. She should learn from other people’s mothers. If someone can embroider, he or she can definitely knit sweaters.

As long as there are small circles, there will be small groups, and within them there will be outstanding people who do well.

She had seen the aunts and grandmas in the compound sitting together, each knitting a sweater. The skilled ones could chat without even looking at the needles in their hands.

Jiang Yun immediately asked, "Can I go to your house and learn how to embroider from your mother?"

He Xiangdong had been having a lot of fun with Jiang Yun these past few days. As long as he could get Jiang Yun out of the house, he would agree to anything Jiang Yun asked. "Sure, my mom likes girls who can embroider the most. You draw so beautifully, my mom will definitely like you."

Jiang Jun put away the few pieces of draft paper he had drawn, took a book to hold them, closed the window and locked the door, and went to the outer room to greet Zhang Xiuying: "He Xiangdong asked me to go to her house to see the flowers her mother embroidered."

No matter how angry he was, he still had to say hello. Jiang Jun just deliberately omitted the title.

Zhang Xiuying snorted, "Come back early to cook. Xiaolan is growing and can't stand being hungry. Don't play outside all the time. If you don't work, you don't eat."

Jiang Jun, who had been deliberately keeping aloof, was suddenly provoked into anger by Zhang Xiuying's words. His chest heaved twice, and he turned and left without saying a word.

Zhang Xiuying snorted coldly behind her: "Look at you, you're using your father's tricks against me again. Get out!"

Jiang Jun clenched his fists, trying hard to restrain himself from looking back. He quickened his pace and fled out of the house.

She didn't want to argue with a middle-aged woman with menopausal cancer. It would be better to use wits than to act brute force.

He Xiangdong stood at the end of the bungalow. When Jiang Yun approached, he asked in a low voice, "Did your mother scold you again? Did she not let you go out to play?"

Jiang Jun nodded slightly and looked at He Xiangdong with a helpless look in his eyes: "Do you think I will become like her when I get old?"

He Xiangdong quickly comforted her: "No, no, look at your dad. My parents often praise him for being so gentle and refined, saying that he is like the teachers in the old society universities. You are very much like your dad, so you will definitely be a teacher in the future."

Jiang Jun smiled slightly: "Really?"

With a mother like this, Jiang Jun has no choice but to ask others not to look at her with the perspective of "like mother, like daughter". It would be best to completely distinguish her from Zhang Xiuying's type.

He Xiangdong nodded repeatedly: "It's true, you look like your father and speak in a delicate voice. Your sister looks like your mother."

Jiang Lan looked exactly like Zhang Xiuying, with thick eyebrows, large eyes, a high nose bridge, and a wide mouth. They were clearly mother and daughter. Their temperaments were especially similar: loud, extroverted, and unable to hide anything, they would reveal things they had agreed not to say.

Jiang Yun smiled and asked, "Xiangdong, who do you look like?"

When He Xiangdong saw Jiang Jun smiling, he breathed a sigh of relief and said casually, "You'll know who I look like when you come to our house and look at the photos."
