Chapter 307: A Different Look

When interacting with classmates and colleagues, Xiao Xingxing always managed to take the initiative and gain the upper hand. He had never been asked a direct question before and was stunned for a moment.

Jiang Jun continued to ask, "Commander Gao and Deputy Commander Chen treat every soldier with respect. They're not just attentive to me. You can ask the guards around them and you'll know how meticulous they are in all matters!"

The guards around the commander are all respectful to me, Jiang Jun. Why do you, a secretary of the Foreign Affairs Office, suspect me just based on your personal preferences?

If Jiang Jun hadn't been concerned that the foreign affairs activities had not yet ended, he really wanted to throw the last two sentences at Xiao Xingxing.

Xiao Xingxing reacted quickly, and the embarrassment almost disappeared in an instant. He even said confidently: "I'm just kindly reminding you not to be disrespectful in front of the leader. If you accidentally say the wrong thing, you won't know how you died!"

Jiang Jun stared at Xiao Xingxing's face, narrowed his eyes, and suddenly said, "You look a lot like someone I know."

Xiao Xingxing was caught off guard and was stunned. He turned his face away guiltily: "Who?"

Jiang Jun sneered. She just suddenly thought of Mo Xiaohui and felt that Xiao Xingxing's expression was exactly the same as Mo Xiaohui's at times.

Unfortunately, Jiang Jun did not continue to have the intuition and sensitivity of a woman, so she only guessed the beginning but not what would happen next.

"What do you think?"

Xiao Xingxing came back to his senses: "How could I possibly know someone you know?!"

Jiang Jun was no longer interested in talking. The dress fit her perfectly, but she needed a new bow tie. She had to go out and look for a suitable bow tie before she could decide on her hairstyle.

"Secretary Xiao, my mission was assigned by the commander and has nothing to do with your work. If you are dissatisfied with me in any way, please go to the commander to make your complaint, or report it to the relevant department. If you speak directly to me, it would be considered as overstepping my authority!"

After saying this, Jiang Jun left with the bag and dress. As for whether Xiao Xingxing was jumping up and down or getting mad, she didn't bother to even look at her.

She really didn't understand what these people were so proud of. Where did this inexplicable sense of superiority come from?

I remember that when she was training in the United States, her mentor repeatedly emphasized that the more material wealth a person possesses, the nobler his character should be; the higher a person's status and the greater his power, the broader his mind should be; the stronger a person's ability, the more responsibility he should bear for this society!

A person with noble character, a broad mind, and a sense of responsibility must have clear and bright eyes.

Haha, classmate Xiao Xingxing didn’t even dare to look into her eyes, so she could only laugh.

Walking out of the room, Jiang Jun also left behind all the troubles and unhappiness. The adjective used by Jenny was really right. Only by moving forward bravely and never looking back like Orpheus can one avoid falling into pain.

The waiter on duty saw Jiang Jun and quickly said, "Breakfast isn't until 6:30, and the restaurant isn't open yet."

Jiang Jun waved his hand. "I don't want breakfast. I need to find a guard. Where does the commander's guard live?"

It is definitely too late to look for bow tie accessories elsewhere now. The only way is to go back to Chen's house to look for them.

The waiter hesitated and didn't dare to speak.

Jiang Jun understood that with foreign guests present, security at the VIP building would be even tighter. "Then go find them for me. Any guard, as long as they're the commander's guard, will do. Just say that the translator, Xiao Jiang, has something urgent to ask. I'll just sit here and wait for you, okay?"

The waiter then happily ran off to find someone.

In the blink of an eye, Xiaohu came running over: "Teacher Xiao Jiang, what's going on?"

Jiang Jun said succinctly, "I don't have a suitable bow tie to go with my tuxedo. I need to go back to Deputy Commander Chen's house to get one. It'll only take half an hour to go there and back, so I'll be back just in time for breakfast."

Xiaohu immediately said: "Then I will take you back now."

When his commander heard that it was Teacher Xiao Jiang who wanted to see him urgently, he immediately ordered him to cooperate with Teacher Xiao Jiang at any time.

It usually takes fifteen minutes to walk from the guesthouse to Chen's house, but now Jiang Yun and Xiaohu walked quickly and it only took less than five minutes.

Jiang Jun didn't dare call back, for fear of disturbing Ye Qingyin. When he got to the gate of the courtyard and opened the door with his key, he deliberately made a loud noise so as not to scare the people in the house. "Aunt Liu, are you there? I'm Xiao Jiang. I came back to get something."

Ye Qingyin had been feeling unwell these past few days and had been a light sleeper. She was sitting in the living room listening to the radio, waiting for daybreak to go out for a walk.

Turning around, I saw Jiang Jun standing at the door. She was wearing a white sweater, a green skirt, stockings, and high-top leather shoes. Her hair was draped over her shoulders. She was as pure as a middle school student. The phrase "dewy white rose" suddenly popped up in my mind, and I was stunned by what I saw.

Jiang Jun smiled sweetly and greeted, "Aunt Ye, this is Uncle Gao's guard, Xiaohu. He sent me here to get something."

Ye Qingyin was stunned for a moment before asking, "What are you coming here to get?"

Jiang Jun walked forward, holding her coat and bag, and took out a pink bow tie and jeweled hairpin. "Aunt Ye, I've been interpreting for Uncle Gao these past few days while entertaining foreign guests. Look, this is the pink bow tie I wore yesterday. I also had a pink hair knot, but one of the foreign guests was a girl about my age, and she insisted on using her jeweled hairpin, so she replaced my pink hair knot. But my pink bow tie and the jeweled hairpin don't match, and the textures don't match."

She explained so much in detail just to get Ye Qingyin to give her some advice.

Ye Qingyin picked up the jeweled hairpin and immediately recognized it as something that belonged to a European noblewoman. The polishing and inlaying techniques used on the jewels were completely different from the jewel beads used by the Chinese. "With just this little hair, how can you wear this hairpin?"

When Jiang Yun heard that there was a chance, she quickly put down the things in her hands, took out a comb from her bag, and started to braid the princess braid: "Auntie Ye, look, just insert the small comb on the hairpin into the braid!"

Ye Qingyin looked around, picked up the pink bow tie and gestured: "Well, this bow tie is too light."

Jiang Yun asked eagerly, "Auntie Ye, what kind of collar would look good with it?"

Ye Qingyin shouted, "Sister Liu, go to my room and bring me my gold silk scarf."

Sister Liu rushed out of the kitchen in response: "Hey, I'll get it right away!"

Ye Qingyin had a milky white silk scarf with gold threads woven into it, tied around her neck. It looked inconspicuous from a distance, but when you got closer, you could see bits of golden light shining like stars.

Jiang Yun tied the gold silk scarf into a Japanese bow under the collar of her shirt. The fluffy and soft scarf bow looked a bit like a blooming white peony.

Ye Qingyin couldn't help but praise: "Beautiful!"

Jiang Jun smiled sweetly, "Auntie Ye, could you lend me this scarf for a day? I'll return it tonight."

Ye Qingyin raised her hand: "Go!"
