Chapter 124 Teacher Wang

The next morning, Wen Ruan slept in late, a rare occurrence, and didn't get up until almost noon. Everyone else in the dormitory had already packed their things and gone home, leaving only Zhou Wen sitting at the table eating lunch.

After Wen Ruan got up and greeted her, she started packing her things to go home. Just before leaving the dormitory, she invited Zhou Wen: "Big sister, summer vacation is so long, if you're free on the weekend, you can come to my house to play."

Zhou Wen readily agreed, and after they said goodbye, Wen Ruan left.

After returning home, Wen Ruan had nothing to do, so she prepared to do a thorough cleaning. In the past two months, she had hardly ever been home, and Song Yan was not around either, so the house felt lifeless.

It took Wen Ruan most of the afternoon to finish cleaning the house. Only then did she realize that she hadn't eaten all day, but since she was home alone, she was too lazy to bother.

So he got dressed, grabbed his things, and prepared to head to the steel factory's residential compound.

As soon as she took out her keys and opened the door, Wen's mother came in upon hearing the noise and asked, "Ruan Ruan, what brings you here today? Are you on holiday?"

Wen's mother suddenly remembered that she had said last week that she planned to go home for a few days after the holiday, but seeing that she didn't seem to be carrying much luggage, she hesitated to speak.

Seeing the disappointment on her mother's face, Wen Ruan understood and explained, "Yes, it's the holidays, about two months long, but Professor Lin Qingyou recommended me for an internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I'm going to go and complete the necessary procedures next Monday, maybe..."

Before she could finish speaking, Wen's mother's eyes lit up with immense joy, and her laughter echoed into the kitchen. Wen's father, who was busy cooking, couldn't help but peek out to see what was going on.

"Old Wen, your daughter has really made something of herself! A professor saw how outstanding she is and recommended her for an internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Wow, my daughter is amazing! She's only a freshman and she already has such a great opportunity." Wen's mother said to Wen's father with great joy and a slightly exaggerated tone.

Mr. Wen was overjoyed and kept praising it. He quickly went into the kitchen to wash his hands, then went to the door, picked up his coat, put it on, and prepared to go out.

Wen Ruan was very puzzled, wondering what he was going to do, so she asked, "Dad, where are you going?"

"I need to hurry over and see if there's anything left to buy before the market closes. My daughter has worked so hard; I need to buy her some good food to nourish her." With that, Mr. Wen went out.

Wen Ruan felt a little embarrassed, thinking that her father was exaggerating. She looked at her mother, but her mother was even more exaggerated, quickly telling Wen Ruan to sit still and not move, and to go read a book or something.

Even when she wanted to help in the kitchen, her mother wouldn't let her.

All I could do was stand in the kitchen, watching Wen's mother busy herself around, and chat with her.

When Wen's father returned, the two of them busied themselves in the kitchen for a long time before finally preparing dinner.

The three of them sat in the living room eating and chatting together. Wen Ruan talked about her university life and told her parents that she had skipped a grade and would be entering the second semester of her sophomore year.

The two were overjoyed. Wen's mother kept saying to Wen's father, "See, I told you so. As soon as Ruan Ruan was born, I felt that her intelligence was just like mine..."

Mr. Wen, who was standing to the side, kept agreeing with him.

Wen Ruan told the two that she still had time off and that she had nothing to do at home, so she planned to stay home for two days. The two nodded repeatedly.

Wen's mother also told Wen Ruan to stay at the Song family's house for a few days and tell her mother-in-law about the good news. Wen Ruan nodded in agreement.

When Wen Ruan arrived at the compound, her mother accompanied her. Before Wen Ruan could even speak, her mother vividly recounted a series of achievements Wen Ruan had recently made, much to Song's delight.

It just so happened to be Saturday, so the two of them went to the department store to buy the best fabric and find a good tailor to make two sets of clothes for Wen Ruan to wear to work.

Despite her repeated insistence that she had plenty of clothes and didn't need anything specially made, the two men seemed not to hear her and continued enthusiastically discussing the shirt's style, even offering to pay extra for expedited service so Wen Ruan could wear it on Monday...

Soon, it was time for Wen Ruan to go to her internship. She was wearing a fitted white shirt and a pair of black suit pants. This outfit was picked up from the tailor shop by Song's mother and Wen's mother the night before, as they said it was specially rushed.

The design of the clothes is very simple and elegant, and paired with Wen Ruan's ponytail, it makes her look very capable.

As Wen Ruan approached the entrance of the office compound, she saw several small yellow buildings arranged in a neat and orderly manner. Everyone entering and leaving was dressed neatly and formally. Wen Ruan looked at the old man standing at the door.

The gatekeeper was responsible for checking the credentials of everyone entering the compound. Wen Ruan did not have a special credential and could not enter.

"Who are you looking for? What do you need?" the gatekeeper asked routinely.

"Hello sir, I'm Wen Ruan, the new intern..." Wen Ruan answered truthfully.

"Who is your mentor? Or who do you need to contact? I need to give him a letter and ask him to come to the door to meet you. You can't come and go as you please without identification."

“It’s Professor Wang Qing,” Wen Ruan replied. Lin Qingyou had said that after arriving here, he would contact someone named Wang Qing, who was his classmate in France and now works at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This spot was also given to Lin Qingyou by him, asking him to recommend a suitable student.

"Oh, it's Teacher Wang. Please wait a moment." He knew almost everyone in the office, so he recognized Wen Ruan as soon as she spoke.

After waiting for about ten minutes, a young man ran quickly towards the door. Upon seeing Wen Ruan, he asked, "Are you Wen Ruan?"
