Chapter 50 Drunkenness

These past few days, Song's mother has been extremely busy, specifically looking for people to discuss and find an auspicious day for moving.

Finally, November 11th was set as the date for Wen Ruan and Song Yan's official move.

To be honest, when Wen Ruan learned that her mother-in-law had gone to great lengths to choose an auspicious date, which turned out to be Singles' Day (November 11th), she was both shocked and somewhat embarrassed. It was easy to recall her own extravagant spending spree in her past life.

I can't think about it anymore, otherwise I'll start missing my phone and all my game cartridges again...

After the date was set, Song's mother asked the couple to inform Wen's parents, who said they would definitely come to help on that day.

Even Hu Dali and Yu Wei were very enthusiastic when they learned that their brother Yan was moving to a new house. They insisted on coming to see the new home and sharing in the joy.

On Singles' Day, the Song family was particularly lively, with everyone arriving early to lend a hand to the two.

The two of them actually had very few things, especially Song Yan's things, which could be packed into a large bag.

The rest were mostly Wen Ruan's things, especially since Song Yan had made a special trip to the Wen family a few days ago to bring back Wen Ruan's old clothes and some small odds and ends.

A group of people started moving things around 8 or 9 in the morning. With the furniture in the two people's house and Wen Ruan's dowry, it wasn't until 3 or 4 in the afternoon that they had almost finished moving everything.

Song's mother invited everyone to rest in the courtyard, and then hurriedly instructed Song Yan to cut the watermelon that Wen Ruan had brought back from the black market the day before...

Meanwhile, Wen Ruan and her mother were preparing the housewarming dinner for the evening. The day before, Wen Ruan and her mother had made several trips to the supply and marketing cooperative. They even went to the black market to buy some seasonings that were hard to find, all for the first meal in the new house.

The group of people resting in the courtyard felt a strong aroma wafting from the kitchen after a short while. The aroma was both fragrant and spicy, making them swallow hard.

Hu Dali and Yu Wei teased Song Yan, envying his good fortune, and urged him to talk to his sister-in-law and ask if she knew any suitable girls who could be half as good as her, so they could introduce them to the two of them.

Mr. Song specially found some tea leaves, and the group drank tea while waiting for dinner, which took about an hour.

Wen Ruan prepared an exceptionally lavish feast, with three meat dishes and three vegetable dishes, all in very large quantities, filling the entire table.

A group of people sat around the dining table to celebrate Song Yan and Wen Ruan moving into their new home. Song's father was so happy that he opened two bottles of his collection of fine wines and invited everyone to raise a toast in celebration.

Song Yan knew that Wen Ruan had never drunk alcohol before and probably couldn't hold her liquor, especially not this kind of strong liquor. Ignoring the teasing looks from the others, he specially went to get her a glass of plain water and even sprinkled some sugar in it.

Wen Ruan took a small sip and found the taste exceptionally sweet.

The table was laden with delicious food, and everyone enjoyed the meal immensely.

One dish in particular, the spicy chicken, is a beautiful reddish-brown color with a glossy sheen, a rich numbing and spicy flavor, and a delicious and savory taste that is loved by many.

Wen Ruan herself particularly liked this dish, but she felt that today's spicy chicken might be due to a slightly different variety of dried chilies she had bought; the chilies were extremely pungent and strong-flavored...

Wen Ruan is the kind of person who is both a savory eater and a foodie. Even though the spicy chicken was so spicy that she couldn't stand it, she still couldn't resist reaching for the dish with her chopsticks. Finally, when she couldn't bear the spiciness anymore, she quickly picked up the "sweet soup" next to her and gulped it down.

After drinking it, Wen Ruan realized something was wrong. She seemed to have picked up the wrong cup! That should have been Song Yan's cup!

In such a short time, Wen Ruan felt waves of heat rising up her body and face. She was dizzy and only had one thought in her mind: "So drinking alcohol really does relieve the spiciness!"

After a long while, Song Yan noticed that Wen Ruan hadn't moved or touched her chopsticks. He assumed she was just shy because there were so many people around. Seeing that she really liked the dish, he used a spoon to scoop some food onto her plate.

Looking down at Wen Ruan beside him, wanting to ask if she needed anything, he suddenly realized something was wrong.

Wen Ruan's eyes were somewhat unfocused, her face flushed, and her movements were very slow. She mechanically tried to pick up food from her plate, but couldn't manage it. However, she seemed to be determined to get the food out of her plate, persistently trying again and again...

Looking at the two glasses in front of her, she noticed that one of them, which smelled of baijiu (Chinese liquor), was empty, and she instantly realized something! Her eyelids twitched involuntarily.

Song Yan frowned. Seeing that it was getting late, he told everyone and prepared to stand up and help Wen Ruan to rest.

Song's mother and Wen's mother also noticed that Wen Ruan was not in a good state, and quickly instructed Song Yan to take good care of her.

Song Yan gently coaxed Wen Ruan to stand up, and she obediently held onto Song Yan's clothes, following him wherever he went.

A moment of uncontrollable tenderness welled up in Song Yan's heart. He felt that his wife was so obedient and wonderful in every way that he wished he could put her in his pocket and carry her with him at all times.

After finally leading Wen Ruan to their room, Song Yan prepared to fetch water himself to help his little princess wash up, but no matter how he coaxed her, he couldn't get Wen Ruan to let go of his hand.

Song Yan had no choice but to take her along, but Wen Ruan was no longer as obedient as before, and simply wouldn't move...

Song Yan tightened his grip slightly, trying to make her let go, but Wen Ruan looked aggrieved: "Stop moving around! I hate you so much! My head hurts... Waaah..."

As Wen Ruan spoke, her eyes began to well up with tears, which startled Song Yan so much that he quickly stepped forward, hugged her, and patiently comforted her.

"Ruan Ruan, be good, don't fuss. I'll go get you some water to wash up. You'll feel better after you wash up and take a nap..." He coaxed her gently while patting Wen Ruan's back.

But Wen Ruan probably still felt it was too noisy and wanted Song Yan to be quiet and shut up. However, her body was being hugged by him, and she couldn't free her hands. So, she could only follow her first instinct and go forward to silence Song Yan with her mouth.

Song Yan felt his lips soften, and the aroma of wine from his little ancestor's mouth immediately filled his nostrils.

As if curious about the feel of her own lips, she then gently nibbled at his lips.

Song Yan felt a jolt in his heart, a sudden shortness of breath, his lips involuntarily parting slightly, as if trying to draw in some air... and then a wet, soft... suddenly slipped inside... Song Yan could no longer restrain himself, and pressed forward, actively engaging her in a wild dance...

The silence of the room was gradually broken, filled with the sounds of panting and sucking as lips met...

Song Yan's eyes were almost bloodshot with suppressed emotion as he watched Wen Ruan reach out and grab his neck. His muscles were tense, and his eyes were filled with complex and unreadable emotions.

Song Yan gently restrained her hands, which were trying to wreak havoc on him: "Ruan Ruan, wake up, look at me."
