Chapter 102 Shocked by His Daughter

Wu Hong, who was clinging to Luo Shicheng's leg, heard the villagers' discussion and looked up to see Luo Shicheng holding Luo Yan in his arms.

When did Luo Yan arrive? Why didn't she see her?

Didn't she work for nothing?

Wu Hong tried to struggle a little longer, pointing at Luo Yan and yelling.

"He stole this child! He beat people, trafficked children, and even... Waaah! Catch him!"

The sight of Xu Tai and Wu Chao lying on the ground was evidence of Luo Shicheng's assault. In addition, Wu Hong was disheveled, and the villagers surrounded Luo Shicheng with weapons.

"Hand over the child."

The villagers gave orders to Luo Shicheng.

Luo Shicheng remained calm, while Luo Yan, nestled in his arms, sobbed softly.

"Daddy, I'm scared, sob sob sob."

Villagers, "..."

"Little girl, is he your father?" someone asked Luo Yan, skeptical.

With tears welling up in her eyes, Luo Yan nodded, "Daddy beats bad boy."

Luo Shicheng patted Luo Yan's back affectionately, pointed at the unconscious Xu Tai, and said in a deep voice to the villagers.

"He's a child trafficker who stole my child. I'm here to rescue my child. I'm not a thug."

The villagers couldn't help but laugh when they saw what Luo Shicheng looked like, and some of them teased Wu Hong.

"You're like a shrew. Let alone such a handsome young man, even I, an old hand, couldn't bring myself to lay a hand on him. How dare you accuse him of being a hooligan?"

Feeling embarrassed by what she was being said, Wu Hong let go of Luo Shicheng's leg, got up, and ran back into the house.

Since it concerned Hua Li's reputation, Luo Shicheng didn't want things to escalate. He asked the villagers to tie Xu Tai up with ropes and then stated that this matter had nothing to do with the Wu family or Fuyuan Village. He only asked Xu Tai to take the human trafficker away.

The villagers were worried that the village would lose its eligibility for advanced status because of the Wu siblings, so they were very happy to hear this.

Luo Shicheng carried Luo Yan in one arm and Xu Tai on his shoulder with the other, bidding farewell to the villagers.

The villagers were amazed by Luo Shicheng's strength and couldn't help but admire the father and daughter's good looks and politeness. They escorted them to the village entrance before dispersing.

After leaving Fuyuan Village, Luo Shicheng turned into an abandoned house deep in the mountains.

Luo Shicheng tore off Xu Tai's clothes and covered his head with them, then told Luo Yan to keep quiet before waking Xu Tai up.

Luo Shicheng had plenty of interrogation techniques, and even the toughest Xu Tai couldn't withstand it, quickly confessing what happened back then.

Knowing that he couldn't stop Luo Shicheng from marrying Hua Li, Liu Jingqiu sought Xu Tai's help.

Taking advantage of Luo Shicheng's thirst after the wedding banquet, Liu Jingqiu put the kind of medicine for livestock that she had bought from the veterinarian into the water.

After Liu Jingqiu used the excuse that An Xiaotong had a high fever to call Luo Shicheng away, he sneaked into the bridal chamber, knocked Hua Li unconscious, and carried her away.

Just as he was about to attack Hua Li, Luo Shicheng escaped from Aunt Gao's house and heard Hua Li's cries for help as he passed by.

Xu Tai was knocked unconscious by Luo Shicheng and didn't wake up until the next morning, when he was woken up by Hua Li hitting him with a stick.

When Hua Li saw that he was awake, he was so frightened that he dropped the stick and ran away. Fearing that he would be discovered, he ran away as well.

"Whose house is No. 123, Sugar Factory Residence?" Luo Shicheng asked, shaking the blood off his hands.

At the time, he checked the ownership of that house, and it belonged to a long-time employee of the sugar factory named Donnie.

Donnie had no children and her husband died early. After his death, the house was inherited by a distant relative, but the neighbors all said they had never seen Donnie's distant relative come to visit.

Xu Tai wouldn't just barge into someone's house to do bad things unless he knew Tang Nier.

"I... I just knew that house was empty, so... Ah!"

Luo Shicheng showed no mercy, and Xu Tai was in so much pain that he convulsed.

“I’ll tell you, I’ll tell you, Tang Ni’er is my biological mother. Liu Jingqiu and I were given away by her when we were little…”

Before she died, she found me and Liu Jingqiu, leaving me the apartment at number 123 in the sugar factory, and asking me to take good care of my younger sister. I'm telling the truth, please stop hitting me.

"Liu Jingqiu is your own sister?" Luo Shicheng's voice was hoarse, as if he wished he could tear Xu Tai, who had almost killed Hua Li, to pieces.

"Yes, but she looks like my dad and I look like my mom, so we don't look alike."

Thinking back to the awful things he had done to Hua Li for Liu Jingqiu and her daughter, Luo Shicheng irritably rubbed his spiky hair.

What happened to your face?

When it came to appearance, Luo Shicheng asked the most crucial question.

Xu Tai hesitated, his eyes darting around, which earned him a good beating from Luo Shicheng.

But this time, Xu Tai would rather be beaten to death than reveal another word.

Originally, the goal was to uncover the truth of what happened back then and clear Hua Li's name, but judging from Xu Tai's reaction, Luo Shicheng realized the seriousness of the problem.

Under Luo Shicheng's insistence, Luo Yan could only sit with her back to him.

As Xu Tai confessed, the truth about Hua Li's wrongful conviction was revealed, and Luo Yan silently lit three incense sticks for her father in her heart.

Hearing that Xu Tai refused to reveal the reason for his changed appearance, Luo Yan took out paper and pen from her backpack and drew a picture of a bat hanging upside down.

Luo Yan shook the paper in her hand.

Not wanting his appearance to frighten the baby, Luo Shicheng suppressed his fierce aura, wiped his hands clean with the clothes covering Xu Tai's head, and walked over.

Seeing the painting in Luo Yan's hand, Luo Shicheng's brow twitched. The little girl was so ruthless, but he liked it.

Luo Shicheng tied Xu Tai's limbs with ropes, swung the ropes over the beam to suspend him, tightened the ropes binding his hands and feet together, and hung Xu Tai face down in a 'bat-like' upside-down position.

This posture won't hurt anyone, but it will cause extreme soreness due to the stretching. Xu Tai was in so much pain that he screamed like a pig being slaughtered after only a short while.

Luo Shicheng went out and gathered some grass to stuff into Xu Tai's mouth, only removing it when Xu Tai was soaked to the bone.

"Tell me what happened to your face."

Xu Tai was barely breathing. "I was born this way."
