Yang Tie and Leng Jian didn't take Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu seriously at all.
Yang Tie performed a set of punches with great vigor, earning cheers from the crowd. Yang Daocheng puffed out his chest proudly, even more so than Yang Tie.
Leng Jian's leg techniques were impressive; his front kicks, outside kicks, spring kicks, stomps, and sweeping kicks were all executed with neat and beautiful movements, once again drawing enthusiastic applause from the playground.
Wearing matching sailor shirts and overalls, Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu put their hands in their pockets and watched for a while before pulling out one hand and playing rock-paper-scissors with their heads touching.
Xiao Xiu put the cloth on Luo Yan's stone. Luo Yan clenched her fists and stared at Xiao Xiu. Xiao Xiu silently turned the cloth into scissors.
Yang Tie protected his chin with his fists, while Leng Jian swung his legs back and forth with practiced ease, shouting, "Come on!"
Luo Yan raised her hand and gestured to Luo Shicheng and Chen Yuanshan, who then stood inside the protective circle.
Cold War Country caught a glimpse of the sarcastic remark, "Don't worry, Tie Dan and Xiao Jian will spare them..."
Before the word "love" could even be uttered, Luo Yan charged forward like a cannonball, delivering a series of punches to Yang Tie and Leng Jian, sending them flying into the air, crying and tumbling before being caught steadily by Luo Shicheng and Chen Yuanshan.
Luo Yan shook her little fists, put her hands in her pockets, and walked back to Xiao Xiu's side.
The playground was deathly silent, with only Yang Tie and Leng Jian's terrified cries echoing in the air.
Wow! The officers and soldiers, realizing what had happened, burst into applause.
"Truly worthy of being called a hero!" Zhuang Nanxing was astonished and personally called out to two new recruits who had just entered the army camp, "You two, come here."
The recruits were only seventeen or eighteen years old. Apart from being involved in gang fights in the village, they knew nothing. Fighting two little kids was not considered bullying as long as it wasn't a simple contest of strength.
Xiao Xiu discussed with Luo Yan, "Let me practice this time."
Luo Yan's hands were still a little itchy, but since she was the younger sister, she had to give way to her brother.
Luo Yan nodded, and before the two greenhorns could even stand properly, Xiao Xiu kicked them away in a series of kicks.
However, Luo Shicheng and Chen Yuanshan did not go to pick up the two greenhorns who had flown away.
The two green recruits fell to the ground and lay there for a long time, unable to get up.
Yang Tie and Leng Jian, who were still crying, stopped crying immediately when they saw that the two new recruits were in an even worse situation than them.
Now, no one dared to underestimate the two little kids anymore, but even fewer were willing to come out and practice.
Zhuang Nanxing frowned as he looked at the two little ones and spoke.
"How about this, let's finish this quickly. You two can choose your opponents. If you win, we won't hold you responsible for injuring Xu Tai and Cheng Yichen."
That's more like it. Luo Yan was quite satisfied. She casually pointed at Yang Daocheng, who was defying her father, and then Xiao Xiu pointed at Leng Zhanguo, who was holding Leng Jian and checking if he was injured.
Yang Daocheng and Leng Zhanguo, who were called out, froze. As regimental commanders, it was not a glorious thing for them to win against two children. If they lost, they would lose face and how could they lead troops in the future?
Luo Shicheng glanced at it coolly and said magnanimously.
"I brought my two children here only to prove that it was indeed the two of them who did the beating, and the most basic requirement for injuring someone is strength..."
As he spoke, Luo Shicheng waved his hand, and several soldiers brought over several stacks of bricks.
Use bricks to build a support according to Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu's height, and place five bricks horizontally on both sides.
Breaking bricks with bare hands is something even veterans can do, but breaking five bricks at once is something not all soldiers can do, let alone a toddler whose two little hands are not even as long as their fingers.
Zhuang Nanxing pointed to the brick and said, "Forcing growth is not advisable; one brick is enough."
The force required to break a brick is enough to break a person's bones, and he didn't want his two adorable little children to get hurt because of the adults' reckless actions.
Luo Shicheng offered no explanation. Xiao Xiu stepped forward and slapped the five bricks, causing them to break in half. Everyone gasped in surprise.
Zhuang Nanxing gasped, "Alright, that's enough. We don't need the girl anymore."
Luo Yan had long seen that Yang Daocheng and Leng Zhanguo were targeting her father, so how could she let them still have any illusions? She stepped forward and slapped the bricks with her little hand, but none of the five bricks broke.
The little girl was only three years old, and it was already quite impressive that she could defeat two boys who were older than her. No one laughed at Luo Yan; instead, they all praised her for her bravery.
Amidst the praise, Luo Yan gently poked the seemingly intact brick with her little finger, and it shattered...
Five bricks shattered into several pieces and fell to the ground.
The hot summer night wind blew across the playground, leaving beads of sweat on everyone's foreheads.
Zhuang Nanxing smacked his lips for a long time before affectionately calling out to Luo Shicheng, "Little Luo..."
Luo Shicheng picked up Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu, one in each hand, and said, "I won't accept them. They won't be included in the staff. My child still has to go to kindergarten tomorrow. Goodbye, sir."
Before the words were even finished, the person had already disappeared.
After buying groceries at the cafeteria, Luo Shicheng took the two little ones and ran home.
Hua Li prepared the meal and waited for the adult and two children to arrive home before serving the food and placing it on the table.
Opening the lunchbox, I found braised eggplant, crucian carp and tofu soup, plus minced meat stewed with eggs and stir-fried pork made by Hua Li—a very generous spread.
Aunt Shi and Aunt Zheng have already returned to the Sun family, so Hua Li doesn't need to worry about Sun Bailing and Xu Tianzhong anymore and can eat in peace.
After finishing their meal, Luo Shicheng washed the dishes, while Hua Li began studying with her materials. The phone rang, and Luo Yan answered it.
Xia Suya smiled happily when she heard the childish "Hey!"
"My dear Yan Yan, let your dad answer the phone."
“Dad…” Luo Yan waved the phone in her hand at Luo Shicheng in the kitchen.
Luo Shicheng wiped his hands with an apron and came out to answer the phone.
"Shicheng, when are you going to bring Yanyan back? It would be best if you could bring Huali and Xiaoxiu along too."
Luo Shicheng knew that this was his parents' way of making it up to him and Luo Yan, and said.
"Mom, I'm busy right now. Let's talk about it later."
Are you angry with your parents?
