Chapter 201 Entering the Mountains

Before Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu could reach the back door, Yang Tie and Leng Jian caught up with them.

"Luo Yan, Xiao Xiu, are you going into the mountains?" Leng Jian asked.

Xiao Xiu nodded.

Yang Tie said, "Don't go there. There are wild boars in Qingshan. My mom almost got gored by one when she went to the vegetable garden this morning."

Upon hearing about wild boars, Luo Yan's eyes lit up. She and Xiao Xiu fooled Yang Tie and Leng Jian away and hurriedly ran out the back door, but behind them, a pair of resentful eyes were fixed on Luo Yan.

Luo Yan seemed to sense something, turned around and glanced behind her, but there was no one there.

After exiting through the back door, Xiao Xiu walked ahead, vigilantly surveying the surroundings, constantly on guard against wild boar attacks.

They didn't find any wild boars even after reaching the riverbank.

As Luo Yan walked along, she noticed many cultivated vegetable plots along the roadside, planted with various vegetables, which she guessed were all grown by Guan Qiongzhi.

However, most of the crops in the field had been destroyed by wild boars, and the scene was truly devastating.

Arriving at the riverbank, the tree branch used to tie the landing net yesterday was still there. Xiao Xiu tied the net to the branch again and put it in the water...

Luo Yan first entered the space and glanced at the mother pheasant incubating chicks, but the mother pheasant was not behaving herself and was pecking at the food placed in the space.

After placing the apple that the pheasant had pecked at next to the chicken coop, Luo Yan realized that if she wanted to raise livestock in the space, the first step was to solve the problems of isolation and safety.

If things are placed into space by thought, then can we also divide them into areas?

Hearing Xiaoxiu calling her from outside, Luo Yan came out of the space.

Xiao Xiu used a net to catch several fish and put them in a bucket, then called Luo Yan out to see.

Luo Yan was troubled again when she saw the fish. If she put the fish directly into the spiritual spring, how would she drink water in the future? Where else could she put it if not in the spiritual spring?

Xiao Xiu put the net into the water as he spoke.

"We should dig a fishpond to raise fish, or we should ask Uncle Luo for help."

Dad's so busy he definitely won't have time, I'd better think of a solution myself.

As she was pondering, Luo Yan noticed something unusual about the space. She scanned it with her spiritual power and found that a large fishpond had appeared out of nowhere.

Xiao Xiu also noticed the fishpond at the same time. The two exchanged a glance and simultaneously had an idea.

Luo Yan used her mind to draw a boundary around the mother pheasant, and the mother pheasant was indeed unable to leave the boundary she had drawn.

Xiao Xiu had an idea to expand the fishpond further, and the fishpond instantly doubled in size.

The problem was easily solved, and Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu happily high-fived.

Xiao Xiu quickly scooped up a lot of fish and shrimp with a landing net and put them into the fishpond in the space, which took less than half an hour.

With the fish caught, it was time to head into the mountains for some wild game. Xiao Xiu and Luo Yan went into the mountains one after the other, with Xiao Xiu leading the way as always.

After walking a few steps, Luo Yan's arm was scratched by grass leaves, causing both pain and itching.

Luo Yan grabbed Xiao Xiu and took out long clothes and trousers from her space for the two of them to change into. Then she used strips of cloth to tie the trouser legs and wrists tightly.

After fastening their belts and putting on their hats, the two little ones began their mountain picking adventure.

Shepherd's purse, purslane, dandelion, lamb's quarters, wild celery, mushrooms, wood ear fungus, and bracken are a bit old, but we can try storing them in the space to see if they will sprout new shoots.

Hazelnut trees, red pines bearing pine nuts, walnuts, hawthorns, wild plums, wild grapes, wild strawberries, wild mulberries, wild sesame seeds, spicy strips...

Spicy Strips is a tiger-striped keelback snake, commonly known as a pheasant neck. After Luo Yan put it into her space, it was discovered by a mother pheasant who wanted to peck at it but was blocked by an invisible barrier and could not get close.

Seeing this, Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu were very happy and took out their sodas to toast each other in celebration.

The two of them had been busy all morning, so they decided to sit down and rest.

When Xiao Xiu collected wild strawberry seedlings into her space before, she also picked a lot of ripe strawberries. She washed them clean with spiritual spring water and put them in a bowl for Luo Yan to eat.

The wild strawberries weren't big, only slightly larger than Luo Yan's thumb, but they tasted particularly fragrant and slightly sweet, which suited Luo Yan's taste perfectly.

Luo Yan urged Xiao Xiu to eat as well, but Xiao Xiu only ate a few and then stopped.

Xiao Xiu took out a sesame seed cake, tore it open, put a sausage inside, and handed it to Luo Yan. Luo Yan took a bite of the sesame seed cake and sausage, then a bite of wild strawberry. Mmm, so satisfying!

After filling her stomach, Luo Yan felt a little sleepy, so she went into the space with Xiao Xiu to take a nap.

There was no bed in the room, so Xiao Xiu spread a blanket on the floor and lay down to sleep with Luo Yan.

Luo Yan closed her eyes and vaguely thought, "In the novels I read before, the spaces were always accompanied by villas. Why doesn't her space have one?"

Suddenly, Xiao Xiu exclaimed, and Luo Yan opened her eyes, startled by the noise, to find herself in a villa.

Luo Yan was shocked, then delighted, and went to find a bed.

In the three-story villa, Luo Yan chose the master bedroom on the second floor, and the second bedroom for short rests. The third floor was reserved for Luo Shicheng and Hua Li.

Luo Yan lay down on the soft bed, and fell asleep as soon as she closed her eyes. When she opened them again, it was an hour later.

Luo Yan stared at the ceiling, trying to figure out what she wanted to create. But after thinking for a while, nothing appeared, and Luo Yan was disappointed.

Was it too advanced for her? Or was it beyond her comprehension?

After all, she only knew the external aspects and was completely ignorant of the internal workings.

Villas are different. Even if you've never lived in one, just look at movies and TV shows, especially modern dramas. Villas that cost less than a small fortune to build are considered low-class.

Luo Yan scratched her head in deep thought, her smooth braids becoming all frizzy from the scratching.

Suddenly, Luo Yan had a flash of inspiration. She often watched videos of things like hand-made plasma cannons, eight Mach rings, telescopes, and drones—items she frequently encountered.

Although these are not finished weapons, as long as the principles are there, there is no fear of not being able to develop a genuine product.

Just then, Xiao Xiu knocked on the door and came in.

Remembering her main task for the day, Luo Yan stopped thinking about anything else and continued collecting.

Emerging from the space, Luo Yan walked to a mountain stream and spotted a cluster of vibrant wild daylilies not far away.

Daylilies are both beautiful and delicious, so I must add them to my space.

The female pheasant saw the daylily and wanted to peck at it, but still couldn't touch it.

Luo Yan suddenly realized that with such a large space, she couldn't possibly remember to feed the chickens every day. Instead, she could create a natural environment and let the chickens find their own food. Wasn't this just like the free-range chickens that some merchants in the original world were promoting?

Luo Yan started placing the readily available flowers and plants in the area where the mother pheasant was, and Xiao Xiu followed suit after discovering this.

Not only the environment, Luo Yan also caught some grasshoppers and earthworms that chickens eat and put them in.

After finishing her work, Luo Yan looked up and saw that the sun was already setting; it was time to go home.

Xiao Xiu let Luo Yan go into the space to rest, and then walked towards the outside of the mountain.

With nothing else to do, Luo Yan closed her eyes and rubbed her hands together, imagining everything: a plasma cannon, eight Mach rings, a telescope, a drone—and sure enough, they all appeared.

Just as Luo Yan was feeling happy, Xiao Xiu suddenly appeared in the space, his face unusually pale.

“There’s a bear outside…” Xiao Xiu’s voice trembled.
