Chapter 215 The Knife

When the Qian family heard Luo Shicheng say that Qian Song would be restored, they were all dumbfounded. They watched Luo Shicheng and Chen Yuanshan leave, and not one of them thought of trying to stop them.

"Uncle Luo, Uncle Chen..."

Qian Zhaodi stumbled over and grabbed Luo Shicheng's leg, pleading.

"It's all my fault, please don't blame my father, please don't send him away."

As Qian Song watched Qian Zhaodi pleading with Luo Shicheng and Chen Yuanshan, while their beloved son and daughter looked at each other with disdain and secretly watched the show, he suddenly felt like a joke.

Sun Huizhen, who was previously fearless, is now afraid when she sees that Luo Shicheng is serious.

“It’s my fault. You can hit me or scold me as you please, just please don’t let Qian Song go back.”

Qian Song's hometown is so remote and isolated that going back would be tantamount to ruining his future.

"No!" Qian Zhaodi cried, "Don't hit my mother, hit me instead."

Under Qian Zhaodi's desperate pleas, Luo Shicheng reluctantly agreed to let Qian Song go, but if he found Qian Zhaodi being mistreated again, Qian Song would be fired immediately.

The Qian family was deeply grateful and saw Luo Shicheng and Chen Yuanshan off.

Sun Huizhen carried Qian Zhaodi to Daya's room and asked Daya to return all the things Hua Li had given to Qian Zhaodi.

Da Ya refused, so Qian Song personally threw her into the storeroom and made her stay there until she regained consciousness.

Qian Erpang, like his elder sister, refused to return the malted milk powder and paintbrushes to Qian Zhaodi, and was similarly thrown into the storeroom.

Within a night, Da Ya and Qian Erpang had both behaved themselves.

Wearing the fine cotton nightgown given to her by Hua Li, Qian Zhaodi lay on the soft, cloud-like mattress, holding the painting drawn by Luo Yan and smiling sweetly. She then added a stroke to the sunlight in the painting with her paintbrush, turning the line into a knife, flashing with unpredictable sharpness.

Luo Shicheng and Chen Yuanshan returned home to report, earning unanimous praise from their father-in-law, mother-in-law, and daughter-in-law.

Luo Shicheng picked up Luo Yan and asked, "Why do you want me to give Qian Song another chance when Qian Zhaodi pleads for him?"

Yes, he received guidance from his daughter before he set off. His daughter drew a picture of Qian Zhaodi and him, meaning that he would only agree to let Qian Song go if Qian Zhaodi pleaded for him.

Luo Yan blinked her big eyes, pointed at Hua Li, and then patted herself.

Luo Shicheng didn't quite understand, but Hua Li did, and translated it for Luo Shicheng.

"What Yan Yan means is that Qian Zhaodi, who is in trouble, is just like us, her mother and me, back then. So, helping Qian Zhaodi is helping us when we were desperate."

Luo Shicheng fell silent for a long time.

Luo Yan had no interest in seeing Luo Shicheng sad. She broke free from Luo Shicheng's embrace, grabbed Xiao Xiu, and ran out to play.

Yang Tie and Leng Jian secretly carried small buckets toward the back door, but unexpectedly ran into Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu who were running over.

"Are you going to catch fish too?" Leng Jian asked Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu in a low voice.

Luo Yan had a bit of a headache. She wanted to go fishing with Xiao Xiu, but she didn't plan to bring anyone else.

Seeing that the two were carrying buckets of water, Xiao Xiu knew they were definitely going. Before he could say no, Luo Yan nodded first.

Because of Grandma Kong, the back door is locked and no one is allowed to enter or leave at will.

Yang Tie led the way, walking east along the courtyard wall until they found the dog hole blocked by a large stone at the base of the wall.

Yang Tie and Leng Jian tried to push the boulder for a long time but couldn't move it. Xiao Xiu told the two to move aside and casually pushed the boulder aside, which made the two of them shout in surprise.

"Xiao Xiu, how did you become so strong? Teach us!"

To take care of the two mentally challenged individuals, they couldn't jump over the wall and had to climb through the dog hole. Xiao Xiu was in a bad mood and refused to answer the mentally challenged individuals' questions, instead climbing out of the dog hole first.

Luo Yan followed, followed by Yang Tie and Leng Jian.

After looking around and finding no trace of wild boars, the four of them headed towards the Dai River.

After eating his fill of meat, Leng Jian couldn't stand the bland food every day anymore, so he encouraged Yang Tie to come with him to catch fish. To his surprise, they ran into Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu, and he was so happy that he laughed like an idiot all the way.

Knowing about Leng Jian's family situation, Luo Yan went to the river and threw stones, catching eight fish in a row, which she then shared with Yang Tie and Leng Jian.

Yang Tie and Leng Jian jumped up with joy and put the fish into their own buckets.

Xiao Xiu said, "You guys take the fish back. Yan Yan and I will catch a few more fish and then head back."

Yang Tie and Leng Jian agreed immediately, then staggered toward the back door carrying their water buckets.

Xiao Xiu was worried and followed the two of them until they crawled through the dog hole back to the east courtyard before returning.

This time, Luo Yan didn't kill the fish directly. Instead, she stunned them with pebbles, scooped them up with a net, and put them into the fishpond in her space.

After a short break, I doubled my speed and finished in less than half an hour.

Luo Yan pointed up the mountain.

Xiao Xiu saw that there was still plenty of time, enough for a trip up and down the mountain, and nodded in agreement.

The two changed into long sleeves and trousers, and ran up the mountain hand in hand.

They ran into a red pine forest to collect pine cones, and then went to pick hazelnuts and walnuts.

Although it's not the right season and there aren't many things to eat, a lot of seedlings were transplanted into the space. Given the growth rate of crops in the space, they should soon have more nuts than they can eat.

Two hours later, the two little ones ran down the mountain. Passing by a grove of chestnut trees, they stopped to collect chestnut seedlings into their space.

Suddenly, a foul gust of wind swept in. Luo Yan, who was bending down to pick chestnuts, leaped up and pulled Xiao Xiu to jump onto a tree. Then, a huge creature pounced on the tree and rammed into it like a madman.

Luo Yan looked down at the tree and saw a huge wild boar.

The wild boar had small, red eyes and kept ramming into the tree trunk, bending it in no time.

The tree trunk creaked under the weight, as if it could break at any moment.

Luo Yan released her grip, leaped onto the wild boar's back, and with a flash of cold light in her hand, pierced the boar's back with a sharp blade.

Wild boars have thick hides and tough flesh. Luo Yan's knife wasn't very sharp, so she had to use skillful force to stab it in. Unfortunately, the blade wasn't long enough to reach the heart, and instead, it drove the wild boar mad with pain.

Xiao Xiu jumped down and landed on the wild boar's head, his fingers like steel hooks digging into the boar's eyes, causing the boar to scream in pain.

Xiao Xiu grabbed the wild boar's tusks with one hand to prevent himself from being thrown off, and continued to stab the boar's eyes with the other, gouging out the eyeballs and then stabbing them in again until the brain matter flowed out of the eye sockets.

Meanwhile, Luo Yan, with her two short legs, firmly gripped the wild boar on her back, pulling out and stabbing the knife in with both hands, not stopping even as blood splattered all over her body and face.

The wild boar's eyes were swollen into two large holes, its brain matter mixed with blood gushing out. It was stabbed countless times in the back, its blood staining the surrounding grass red. Finally, it collapsed from exhaustion.

Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu rolled on the spot, then stood up and continued.

Luo Yan plunged the knife into the wild boar's belly, while Xiao Xiu grabbed both ends of the wound and tore it apart forcefully.

As the wild boar let out its final, mournful cry, its foul-smelling intestines spilled out of the ripped wound in its abdomen.

Luo Shicheng and others who came up the mountain to look for their children witnessed the two children killing a wild boar weighing over 300 kilograms. They stood frozen in place, feeling a sense of unreality, as if in a dream.

After Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu finished off the wild boar, they looked up and saw that each other was covered in blood, and they both gagged.

Luo Shicheng was the first to come to his senses, stepping forward to grab Luo Yan and demanding, "Where did you get the knife?"

Luo Yan was startled, "Dad?"

Xiao Xiu turned to run away, but Chen Yuanshan grabbed him by the collar, leaving him suspended in mid-air with his legs flailing back and forth in vain.
