Qian Zhaodi walked alone to the east courtyard, asking everyone she met how to get to the Kong family's house.
From afar, Qian Zhaodi saw a group of children chattering together. Curious, she looked over and saw that it was Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu handing out candy.
Qian Zhaodi walked closer and timidly called out to Luo Yan. Luo Yan looked up, saw that it was Qian Zhaodi, and handed her the only piece of candy she had left.

Xiao Xiu and Kong Dahong ran one after the other to the door of Grandma Kong's room, but Feng Dingxiang and Luo Yan were not there.
Kong Dahong pushed open the half-closed door and went in. The old lady Kong, who had been woken up, lay on her side on the pillow, her eyes falling on the bag in Kong Dahong's hand.
