Chapter 227 The Ending

Luo Yan opened her eyes and found herself still sitting on a park bench, the novel she was following on her tablet had already finished airing.

"Are you Miss Luo Yan?"

A man in a black suit with a friendly face walked over and politely asked Luo Yan.

"I am, and you are?" Luo Yan was certain she had never seen a man before.

"Old Mrs. Shen wants to see you. Please come with me."

For some reason, the face of the old woman who had spoken to her before flashed through Luo Yan's mind.

Where is she?

“708, 7th floor, Overseas Chinese Private Hospital”.

"Okay, you can go back first, I'll be there soon."

Luo Yan wasn't that carefree; she didn't just get into a stranger's car and take a taxi to the hospital alone, where she met the old woman lying in the hospital bed.

"You've come..."

When the old woman saw Luo Yan, she struggled to raise her withered hand, and Luo Yan went up and took it.

"So, have you changed?" the old woman asked Luo Yan anxiously.

Luo Yan was certain that her transmigration into the book was the work of the old woman. However, apart from the somewhat hellish beginning, this transmigration journey wasn't too difficult for her, and Luo Yan still told the old woman about it.

"Yes, I succeeded. Hua Li was reunited with her parents. When I returned, her grandparents held their wedding the next day."

As for Luo Yan's father, Luo Shicheng, he took Deng Liren, who had bullied Hua Li, with him to participate in the Sino-Vietnamese War.

Also, Hua Li adopted a little boy named Cheng Dehuai. Cheng Dehuai protects Luo Yan like an older brother, and they are doing very well.

Upon hearing this, the old woman's eyes welled up with tears, and she smiled with relief. She instructed the lawyer standing beside her to read the will, which stated that all of Shen Suyin's estate would belong to Luo Yan.

Such an old woman was actually Luo Yan's maternal grandmother, the proud peacock-like Shen Suyin.

"You, you..." Luo Yan didn't know where to begin.

The monitor emitted a piercing alarm, but Shen Suyin's face remained serene. She held Luo Yan's hand tightly, her voice barely audible.

“I didn’t return to China until A-Ling was seriously ill. I only had time to see him one last time. I learned from him that when he found our daughter, his daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law were all gone.”

I was too stubborn and made one mistake after another. I told the author about my mistakes and wrote them down, hoping that they could live happily in a parallel universe that I cannot see.

Until I saw your comment, saying that this tragedy was actually caused by her personality, and that if Hua Li had been stronger, the ending would have been different.

So I found you, and you did it.

Doctors and nurses rushed in, and the nurse asked Luo Yan to go out first.

Shen Suyin released Luo Yan's hand, her eyes shining with happiness, as if she were talking to Luo Yan or just murmuring in her sleep.

"A-Ling said that I am his mistress, and always will be, but he left too quickly. I don't know if he heard me say that he is also my forever A-Ling."

"But that's alright, I'm going to tell him myself."

As Luo Yan stepped out the door, the electrocardiogram monitor showed a single line.

Luo Yan accepted Shen Suyin's estate, including the research institute wholly owned by Shen Suyin.

Standing in front of the shuttle, the researcher explained it to Luo Yan.

One side of the shuttle connects to a designated travel space, while the other side allows users to input the personal information of the person traveling through it. Travel can be completed at any time without the person being present.

It turns out that when she answered Shen Suyin's question, it was Shen Suyin who was making a final confirmation. After she said that things could be changed, she suddenly transmigrated into the book the next night while celebrating.

It's not like she's the only one leaving a comment, so why does it have to be her?

Is it just because she happens to be named Luo Yan?

"Can this show what happens at every point in time?" Luo Yan asked the researcher.

"Sure, which time period would you like to see?"

Luo Yan thought for a moment, "Let's see what happens ten years after I come back."

The researcher operated a bunch of buttons that Luo Yan couldn't understand, and then the huge screen displayed Luo Yan, who was thirteen years old.

Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu, who had grown into a young man, walked into the school gate together. Xiao Xiu first took Luo Yan to the junior high school section before returning to the classroom.

As soon as Xiao Xiu entered the classroom, Yang Tie teased her, "Luo Yan knows the way, why does she have to be taken by you?"

Xiao Xiu sat down and stuffed his schoolbag into the desk drawer. Leng Jian, who had come over, also said something.

"Yan Yan used to be so amazing, how did she suddenly become like this... Ouch, why did you hit me?"

Luo Yan instructed the researcher to switch the screen to Shen Suyin and Sun Bailing.

Perhaps it was the nourishment of love that kept Shen Suyin from changing much over the past ten years; she remained beautiful and proud.

Sun Bailing, who has remained largely unchanged, has retired and now spends his days revolving around his daughter-in-law.

Xia Suya and Luo Zhaoxing have also retired. Every day, their daily routine involves calling Shen Suyin and Sun Bailing to discuss bringing Luo Yan to Beijing to study when she goes to high school.

The scene shifts again, showing Hua Li, now the owner of the spatial jade pendant, using the plants and animals left behind by Luo Yan to establish breeding farms and plantations, researching many excellent plant and animal varieties and promoting them nationwide.

Since neither of them had any intention of remarrying, the two maintained their marital relationship.

After the Sino-Vietnamese War ended, Luo Shicheng was promoted to the youngest division commander, and he and Hua Li continued to live at Hua Li's maternal home.

Because Chen Yuanshan's wife cooked particularly delicious Sichuan cuisine, Chen Yuanshan, who had become a battalion commander, often brought his wife and children over. The aunt would wash and chop the vegetables, while Chen Yuanshan's wife would cook them.

It was a pity that Xu Tianzhong was not found. Luo Yan asked the researchers to search for Xu Tianzhong.

The search results surprised Luo Yan; Xu Tianzhong and Pang Wanqing had actually become a couple.

The two moved into Chen Yuanshan's vacant courtyard, adopted an abandoned baby, and lived a very happy life.
