Chapter 47: Dad Wants to Stand Up for His Daughter; Luo Yan Doesn't Need It

Liu Jingqiu not only beat Hua Li's child, but also spoke ill of Hua Li to the neighbors behind Hua Li's back. The contemptuous looks from everyone almost pierced through Liu Jingqiu.

Liu Jingqiu grabbed his things and fled in panic, while Wu Cuihua stood there regretting her actions.

Seeing that Liu Jingqiu had run away, Luo Yan continued to deal with Wu Cuihua, pointing to the mud on the windowpane.

"Daddy, daddy, brother hit me."

When Mo Xian returned, he overheard the gist of the story and learned that the mud on Luo Shicheng's windows and doors was done by his third son. He went up to apologize to Luo Shicheng and Hua Li.

“It is the father’s fault if the son is not taught properly. On behalf of my third son, I apologize to Battalion Commander Luo and his wife, and of course, to little Luo Yan.”

Mo Xian is an upright person, and Luo Shicheng has always had a good impression of him. But today, Mo Sanshan dared to lay a hand on Luo Yan, so this matter cannot be resolved with just an apology.

Luo Shicheng wanted to support his daughter, but Luo Yan didn't.

Luo Yan first looked at Mo Xian with her bright black eyes, and then suddenly giggled after Mo Xian apologized.

"Uncle, give me a hug."

His brat bullied the little girl so much, yet she was still so affectionate towards him. Mo Xian's heart almost melted, and the tough guy reached out to Luo Yan with tenderness.

Luo Shicheng refused, but Luo Yan leaned half her little body out and insisted on being held by Mo Xian.

Reluctantly handing Luo Yan over to Mo Xian, Luo Shicheng walked up to Wu Cuihua and stared down at Mo Sanshan.

Luo Shicheng is particularly frightening when he doesn't smile; even adults are afraid of him, let alone children.

Mo Sanshan felt uneasy under Luo Shicheng's gaze, which was even more terrifying than being beaten with a rattan cane by his father.

"I was wrong, I won't bully my sister anymore, sob sob sob..."

Mo Sanshan dared not cry loudly, holding his breath as tears streamed down his face.

Hearing this, Luo Yan added fuel to the fire, pointing her little finger at Mo Sanshan and then at her own cheek, "Wife, wife."

Upon hearing this, Wu Cuihua felt a chill run from the soles of her feet to the top of her head, and she lowered her head, not daring to even look at Luo Shicheng.

Some of the quick-witted neighbors who were watching immediately burst out laughing.

"Oh my god, they even schemed against a three-year-old toddler, what a heartless person."

"That's right, the landlords and rich people have all fallen from power, and she's still trying to raise child brides. Bah!"

If this label of being a landlord and feudal remnant is attached to her, not only will her future be ruined, but Mo Xian's future will also be over. Wu Cuihua is terrified.

"No, I just really like Yan Yan. I even said I wanted to arrange a marriage between our children, but Battalion Commander Luo and his wife didn't agree. There's no such thing as a child bride."

When you were talking about it, you didn't seem afraid at all. Now you do, but it's too late.

Luo Yan pointed to her little skirt, "Brother, no no no..."

Everyone else didn't understand what it meant, but Mo Xian did.

"Wu Cuihua! What exactly did you say to Lao San?"

Wu Cuihua never wears skirts. If she sees other women wearing them, she will scold them for being indecent. Without even asking Mo Xian, she knows that her third son must have said in front of the girl that he wanted to marry her and that he wouldn't allow her to wear skirts.

With just a few words, Luo Yan completely exposed Wu Cuihua's true colors. Wu Cuihua was terrified of Luo Yan and bowed deeply to her.

"It was Auntie's fault. Auntie apologizes to you. From now on, Auntie will definitely keep a close eye on Lao San and never let him bully you again."

"That sounds nice, but he'll never change his ways," Luo Yan said, gently touching Mo Xian's icy face.

Mo Xian is a good person, and an upright soldier. She cannot let Wu Cuihua harm Mo Xian.

Alright, let's let Wu Cuihua off the hook for now. Hopefully, Mo Xian can educate his wife and children well.

Luo Yan looked bewildered, staring blankly at Wu Cuihua who was bowing and apologizing to her. Suddenly, she clapped her little hands and laughed, revealing a few white baby teeth, innocent and carefree.

"Auntie, give me a hug."

Wu Cuihua was stunned when she saw Luo Yan reaching out to her for a hug.

She allowed her third son to bully the baby and even said so many nasty things to him, but the baby not only became close to her husbands but also wanted her to hold him.

Looking into Luo Yan's pure, watery eyes, Wu Cuihua felt ashamed for the first time.

Wu Cuihua pulled her son off her back and threw him on the ground, then reached out to take Luo Yan from her.

Luo Yan and Wu Cuihua were being affectionate and affectionate, with Luo Yan calling Wu Cuihua "Auntie" in a garbled way. Mo Xian glared at his wife, who couldn't tell right from wrong, and Wu Cuihua felt even more ashamed to face the baby.

Hua Li stepped forward, took the baby back, and said, wiping away her tears, "Wu Cuihua."

"Sister-in-law, even if you're the only reason my Yan Yan is closer to you than to her father, you can't treat her like this. How can you be so heartless?"

Mo Sanshan, who had been thrown to the ground by his mother, clung to Wu Cuihua's leg and cried. Wu Cuihua lowered her head and apologized while crying with snot and tears streaming down her face. Mo Xian, feeling ashamed, picked up his brat and dragged his wife home.

After the farce ended, the neighbors who had been watching comforted Hua Li, who was still crying, and then dispersed.

Hua Li held Luo Yan in her arms and asked Luo Shicheng, "Are you leaving or am I leaving?"

Without Luo Shicheng protecting Liu Jingqiu, how could Liu Jingqiu dare to bully the mother and daughter again and again? Fortunately, the neighbors were there today, and Liu Jingqiu and Wu Cuihua did nothing to Luo Yan. What if Liu Jingqiu were to make a move against Luo Yan without warning one day?

What's particularly hateful is that Luo Shicheng actually locked up Luo Yan, a three-year-old baby, at home and didn't care for her at all; it's simply unforgivable.

Luo Shicheng also knew that it was his fault. He shouldn't have left Luo Yan alone at home, and he shouldn't have helped Liu Jingqiu too much, causing Liu Jingqiu to have inappropriate thoughts.

"I'm sorry..." Luo Shicheng apologized.

Hua Li refused, saying, "If you won't leave, I will."
