Chapter Ninety-Three: The Hidden Viper

Xia Suya and Luo Zhaoxing left on the same day Luo Shicheng was discharged from the hospital. Before leaving, they applied for a telephone to be installed at Hua Li's house...

The two of them talk on the phone at least once a day. They don't ask about Luo Shicheng's situation or care whether Hua Li wants to get a divorce. They just need to hear their eldest granddaughter call them grandpa and grandma every day.

Luo Yan's little mouth was as sweet as honey. Although she couldn't say anything too complicated, just one sentence, "Yan Yan loves Grandma, Yan Yan loves Grandpa," was enough to make Xia Suya and Luo Zhaoxing smile.

Luo Yan's head injury healed very quickly; the scab had already fallen off, and she could no longer find a reason to stay at home, so she had to hold her nose and continue going to kindergarten.

Luo Yan arrived at the kindergarten only to find that An Xiaotong was still there...

Liu Jingqiu locked An Xiaotong in the house, but unlike Tian Chunhua, she left plenty of snacks and half a pot of cold boiled water in the teapot, so An Xiaotong's actual hunger lasted no more than two days.

Moreover, Liu Jingqiu was extremely lazy. There was no water in the water tank or bucket at home. After An Xiaotong finished drinking the water in the teapot, she went to look for water in the bucket, fell in headfirst, and fainted from thirst and hunger.

So Luo Shicheng's nightmare was a lie. An Xiaotong didn't drown in a bucket like Luo Jiao did back then when she was starving and thirsty. She was still able to jump around when Luo Yan came to kindergarten.

However, Lin Qingping paid special attention to An Xiaotong this time. As soon as An Xiaotong left her sight, she would go to find her, mainly to prevent An Xiaotong from having a chance to bully Luo Yan.

An Xiaotong tried several times to find Luo Yan to avenge Liu Jingqiu, but Lin Qingping stopped her each time, giving her an unfriendly look.

Lin Qingping also sensed An Xiaotong's malice, but what could a five-year-old child do even if he was angry? Lin Qingping didn't take it seriously at all.

The children in the small class started singing and crying again, while Luo Yan continued to look out the window.

Finally, the teacher led the children out for activities. Luo Yan, as the leader, walked at the front of the group and was led out by Teacher Zhang to the shady spot where small stools were placed.

Teacher Zhang led the way in clapping and singing nursery rhymes, but Luo Yan thought the head-shaking and hand-clapping motions were incredibly silly, so she resolutely gave up.

Suddenly, a figure pacing back and forth outside the kindergarten fence caught Luo Yan's attention.

She was seeing that person for the first time, but something was off because he kept peeking at her through the fence.

Luo Yan kept glancing at him, but the other person didn't notice that Luo Yan was also looking at him.

Just then, An Xiaotong, who was also playing in the yard, ran towards the fence, calling out, "Uncle! Uncle!"

An Xiaotong's voice was quite loud, and Luo Yan heard it clearly.

So he's An Xiaotong's uncle.

An Xiaotong's uncle came to the kindergarten to see her. Was he looking for an opportunity to get revenge on her and her mother?

No, she had to find a way to remind her mother.

Luo Yan followed Teacher Zhang and started swaying her head, clapping her hands, and singing, while her eyes kept glancing at the uncle and nephew interacting intimately through the fence.

As soon as An Xiaotong reached the fence, the man waved her back and turned to leave, as if he was afraid of being discovered by others.

An Xiaotong walked back dejectedly. When she saw Luo Yan singing under the shade of a tree, she suddenly ran over and pushed Luo Yan.

Luo Yan steadied herself with a little effort, but An Xiaotong, instead of pushing Luo Yan, fell on her bottom and started rolling around on the ground crying.

At this moment, the man outside the fence turned back and found An Xiaotong lying on the ground crying. His sinister eyes were fixed on Luo Yan, who was sitting on a small stool.

Ever since An Xiaotong falsely accused Luo Yan of stealing money, Teacher Zhang has had no good impression of An Xiaotong. However, since the person fell in front of her, she had no choice but to go forward and help An Xiaotong up.

Since Liu Jingqiu was arrested, An Xiaotong's personality has become increasingly strange. She won't allow Teacher Zhang to help her and even spits at Teacher Zhang.

Lin Qingping was looking everywhere for An Xiaotong when she found An Xiaotong running to the small classroom and rolling around on the ground. Her face darkened.

An Xiaotong didn't dare offend Lin Qingping, so she scrambled to her feet and pointed at Luo Yan to complain.

"Luo Yan pushed me down. Luo Yan bullied me."

Teacher Zhang was so angry she laughed.

"What the teacher saw was you suddenly running over and pushing Luo Yan, but you fell down instead of moving yourself... Lying isn't good, An Xiaotong, do you want to be a bad kid?"

"I'm not a bad kid!" An Xiaotong shouted. "It was Luo Yan who pushed me."

Although Lin Qingping didn't think Teacher Zhang would be so biased as to lie and frame An Xiaotong, it was impossible for a five-year-old to push a three-year-old.

Lin Qingping asked An Xiaotong, "Did you push Luo Yan or not?"

An Xiaotong couldn't deny it, so she could only pout and nod.

Lin Qingping was quite surprised, but she still spoke patiently.

"Regardless of whether Luo Yan pushed you or not, as the older sister, you shouldn't bully younger children, you know that?"

An Xiaotong glared angrily at Luo Yan.

"She's bad, and her mother is even worse, so I'm going to beat up bad people."

"You're the bad one..."

Hearing the commotion, Mo Sanshan ran over and saw that it was An Xiaotong bullying Luo Yan, so he immediately retorted loudly.

“Your mother has been arrested by the police. You were born from your mother. Your mother is a big bad guy, and you are a little bad guy.”

Lin Qingping quickly covered Mo Sanshan's mouth.

The kindergarten was worried that An Xiaotong would be affected, so they concealed the news of Liu Jingqiu's imprisonment. Not only the children in the kindergarten, but even the teachers were almost unaware of it.

Mo Sanshan's shout essentially ripped off An Xiaotong's fig leaf. It was somewhat better that the younger children couldn't understand, but the middle-grade children and the older children who had gathered around to watch the commotion immediately erupted in chaos.

Seeing that the situation was getting out of control, Lin Qingping immediately called a small meeting, told them about An Xiaotong's mother being sentenced to prison, and asked the teachers in each class to appease the parents and do their best to keep An Xiaotong in kindergarten.

A teacher asked Lin Qingping why she insisted on protecting the criminal's daughter. Lin Qingping replied...

"It is true that her mother was a criminal, but her father was a hero who sacrificed his life for the country. We cannot let a hero die with regrets, but rather we must let his child return to the right path as soon as possible."

An Xiaotong was simply led astray by Liu Jingqiu, so Liu Jingqiu's imprisonment was the best opportunity to correct An Xiaotong's values, and Lin Qingping did not want to give up.

By the time school let out in the afternoon, the news that An Xiaotong had a criminal mother had spread throughout the kindergarten, and everyone's gaze towards An Xiaotong had changed.

An Xiaotong noticed the change in everyone's attitude towards her and felt even more uneasy. This unease instantly turned into anger when she saw Luo Yan, the team leader, come out.

Knowing she couldn't push Luo Yan away, An Xiaotong pounced on her, took off Luo Yan's hat, threw it on the ground, and stomped on it while yelling.

"Little bald head, ugly monster, lies and peees, mom is bad."

The children around Luo Yan were both surprised and amused by her unusual hairstyle, and they all clutched their stomachs and laughed.

Xiao Xiu ran over and saw Luo Yan being bullied. He took off his own hat and put it on Luo Yan, then rushed over and pushed An Xiaotong away.

An Xiaotong was pushed back several steps by Xiao Xiu and almost fell, but was caught by a pair of large hands.

The man picked up An Xiaotong and glared fiercely at Xiao Xiu, who was pushing An Xiaotong. Luo Yan immediately recognized that this man was An Xiaotong's uncle.

Luo Yan stepped forward and shielded Xiao Xiu behind her. Her calm, unwavering eyes met the man's gaze, and he felt as if he were being stared at by a ferocious beast, instinctively backing away...
