Chapter 34 Su Tao's Future Plans

Looking at Su Tao, who was originally depressed, and seeing the change in her expression, Song Tanglan shook his head helplessly while drinking the sugar water. He thought that he had only made a suggestion and there was no need to be so excited.

Seeing Su Tao like this, he couldn't help but laugh at himself. He could live such a good life now, all thanks to her family!

Su Tao did not notice the change in her expression. Instead, she drank the sugar water while thinking about whether this method would work and whether the money she had was enough to support her future life. She was still very tempted by Song Tanglan's proposal.

However, she had too many things to consider, the most important of which was money, and she was afraid that she would not have enough money.

She always knew that it would not be easy to return to the city after going to the countryside, and she had to make plans for her future.

Before she went to the countryside, her family said they would send her some things to supplement her income, but she couldn't pin her future on her parents, after all, they didn't have a good life either.

If she didn't make a plan now, her parents would have no choice but to support her in the future, and then she would...

Thinking of the scene of herself starving to death, Su Tao shook her head frantically. She felt terrified when she thought of that scene.

"By the way, Lanlan, do you know where to exchange the wardrobe and washbasin rack?"

Song Tanglan paused when he heard her question and shook his head honestly.

Although her room was fully furnished with all kinds of furniture, these were not purchased by her, and she didn't know where to get them in exchange.

"How about we wait until my second sister comes back and ask her? They're all at work now and we don't know who to ask."

Su Tao thought about it and nodded. She didn't continue talking about these topics, but instead started chatting about the gossip of the Youth League Institute.

Although she hated the atmosphere in the Youth League House, there was too much gossip to read there.

Especially the open and covert struggles among the female educated youth were enough for Su Tao to talk about for an entire afternoon. Song Tanglan took out some melon seeds and nuts, and the two chatted with relish, sharing the news they had obtained with each other.

When Song Tangcheng came back, he heard the two people laughing very happily. He parked his bicycle and said.

"You two are chatting!"

Song Tanglan heard the noise outside the yard and answered happily, "Yes, second sister." Seeing the person coming in, she made room for her to sit on the kang.

When Su Tao saw Song Tangcheng, her eyes lit up and she simply greeted him. She had just been chatting with Lanlan about things in the team, but they only knew one side of the story.

She realized that she and Song Tanglan knew nothing about life in the countryside, but Song Tangcheng was different. She had lived in the countryside for two years and got married. She might know more about these things than the two newbies.

"What are you talking about?"

Before Song Tanglan could reply, she heard Su Tao's somewhat excited voice.

"We were talking about the Youth House, Second Sister Song. Speaking of which, it's my first time living with so many people, and I'm a little uncomfortable. Plus, there's nothing in the Youth House, so I was just about to ask you where I could get a new cabinet or something."

Su Tao came this time to inquire about the situation of the brigade. The old educated youth were unwilling to tell them more, and they didn't know anyone in the village, so they could only ask Song Tangcheng.

Song Tangcheng didn't say much when he heard this little thing. After all, there were people in the village who exchanged furniture, vegetables and the like. These phenomena were very normal in the village and could not be considered as speculation, so he spoke frankly.

"It's just a small matter. I'll take you there later."

Su Tao was a little nervous at first, but when she heard that she agreed, she immediately smiled. However, when she heard her next words, she waved her hand and said.

"No need to go through so much trouble, just tell me directly. I took a look around the brigade when I first arrived."

Song Tangcheng thought that it was getting late and the other party didn't need his help, so he told her the address.

There was only one carpentry shop in the Red Star Brigade, so if she needed to replace boxes and cabinets, she had to go to his shop. As for sacks, backpacks and the like, Song Tangcheng introduced her to several shops with particularly good craftsmanship, and even told her which family had the best vegetables grown in their vegetable gardens.

With the quality of those old educated youth, this new batch of educated youth might go hungry if they don’t change their dishes.

After hearing her detailed introduction, Su Tao felt very grateful. They were all educated youth, but the old educated youth in the Youth House were unwilling to pay attention to them. They had not even had a meal in the Youth House, which showed that they did not have much food and the vegetables they grew were only enough for themselves.

There was nothing she could do to help them, so she told them to go to the brigade to change jobs themselves. Su Tao thought it was normal for them to do so, but she could at least tell them their location. However, they were unwilling to pay any attention to these new educated youth.

In order to have enough to eat in the future, she plans to buy more vegetables.

Since Song Tanglan went to the countryside, even the boxes and backpacks needed for the house were prepared for her by her second sister and brother-in-law.

So she didn't have any worries about this. She just listened carefully and understood the situation in the village. Although she didn't need to change anything, she still had to understand some social customs.

"Second Sister Song, I'm worried that I won't be able to get used to living in the Youth Hostel. I'd like to know how much it would cost to build a small house. It doesn't have to be a fancy one, just something similar to where Lanlan lives now."

Su Tao thought about it and asked. She really needed to think about it carefully and find out how much it would cost. If it was too expensive, she would be willing to bear with it.

The price is right and she wouldn't mind building a small house of her own.

When Song Tangcheng heard this, she was a little surprised. There were many educated youth who went to the countryside from the city, but she had never heard of any educated youth who had such ideas. They all tried various ways to return to the city, and very few of them took root in the brigade.
