Chapter 49: The Battle for the Child

Grandma Cui had already seen through Wu Sanmei's little thoughts and shouted angrily: "Get lost!"

"Grandma Cui, don't be ungrateful. Your family has been empty for a long time, and you are paralyzed. Xiao Cui needs someone to take care of her, right?" Wu Sanmei calculated, "Leave Xiao Cui to me!"

As they were about to take her away, Xiao Cui didn't want to go, and she cried loudly: "Grandma, I don't want to go, I want grandma, grandma..."

Seeing Xiao Cui crying so hard, Grandma Cui was so excited that she almost fell off the bed. Yang Zhaozhao quickly supported her and said, "Don't be excited, Grandma Cui. Li Yiling and I won't let them take her away."

Li Yiling protected Xiao Cui behind him. Xiao Cui ran to Grandma Cui and hugged her and cried.

Wu Sanmei came prepared this time. He suffered a loss last night, so he wanted to kidnap the person today, regardless of whether Grandma Cui agreed or not.

"Are you trying to rob us? This child belongs to my sister, and thus to me. Someone come quickly! They want to take my child away!" Wu Sanmei howled, and a dozen people waiting outside crowded over.

The others were so frightened that the nurse ran away.

When the nurse Cui Nai came back with the water, she saw the situation and shrank into a corner, not daring to move.

Yang Zhaozhao saw money symbols appearing on their heads and knew that they were hired by Wu Sanmei to act as thugs, thinking that they could snatch the person away with their numbers.

This scene frightened Grandma Cui and Xiao Cui. The two of them hugged each other. Grandma Cui was drooling and was already paralyzed. If she had to watch Xiao Cui being taken away, she would have been so angry that she would have died.

Grandma Cui's mouth was crooked and she was so anxious that she couldn't speak. She looked at Li Yiling and stared at Yang Zhaozhao, hoping that they understood her thoughts and would never let Wu Sanmei take Xiao Cui away.

Grandma Cui knew that if Xiao Cui was taken away, they would have to give her a house and money if they wanted to see her. As long as she had it, they would take it. Even if she didn't have it, they would have to have it themselves.

Realizing that they were coming with great force, Grandma Cui held Xiao Cui tightly.

Yang Zhaozhao saw what Cui Nai was thinking and gave her a comforting look. He stood in front of them and stared at Wu Sanmei who was confident: "If you want to snatch me away, I won't agree."

Li Yiling stood next to Yang Zhaozhao in a domineering manner, in a protective posture, and said violently: "It seems that the beating last night was not enough."

Wu Sanmei was so upset that he said, "I remember the grudge we had last night. Today, we are all brothers from the same family. Don't even think about running away."

"Brothers, what are you still standing there for? Fight." Wu Sanmei gave the order.

A group of evil-looking men rushed over with their fists clenched. Seven or eight of them stared at Li Yiling, the rest stared at Yang Zhaozhao, and Xiao Cui was stared at by Wu Sanmei.

A swarm of people rushed in, and the small ward was packed with people in an instant.

A melee broke out. After eating the Merciless Iron Hand candy, Yang Zhaozhao and Li Yiling's fighting power exploded. The seven or eight people were no match for Li Yiling at all. He beat them one by one with one punch.

After all, there were so many people, and Li Yiling suffered a lot.

The same thing happened on Yang Zhaozhao's side. There were actually people who didn't follow the ethics of martial arts. Everyone was unarmed, but one person actually took out a brick and hit Li Yiling with it.

If this hits your head, it will definitely break your brain.

When Yang Zhaozhao saw this, he took a run, jumped up and kicked him.

With a thud, a brick fell to the ground and the person was kicked away.

"......"

Li Yiling turned around, saw the cool and heroic Yang Zhaozhao, and smiled.

Yang Zhaozhao raised his eyebrows and said, "Be careful!"

"Okay!" Li Yiling knew that these people deserved to die, so he could fight if he wanted to, but if they wanted to kill him, then don't blame him for having a hard fist.

As for Xiao Cui, Wu Sanmei pulled her into his arms. She cried and struggled. Wu Sanmei got angry and slapped her in the face in front of her grandmother: "If you cry again, I'll beat you to death!"

Grandma Cui looked at Xiao Cui, whose face was swollen and whose nose was bleeding. She was dazed and wanted to fight Wu Sanmei to the death. She only hated that her body was useless.

Just as Yang Zhaozhao tried to help Xiao Cui, a loud shout came from the door: "Stop, police!"

The word "police" was still quite intimidating. Upon hearing it, everyone at the scene stopped what they were doing and looked towards the door at the same time.

Zhou Mingwu had a gloomy face, and looked at the group of people fighting with fierce eyes, and finally fell on Yang Zhaozhao and Li Yiling: "What's going on?"

Wu Sanmei was about to explain and clear their names, but Zhou Mingwu pointed at Yang Zhaozhao and said, "Go ahead."

Wu Sanmei: “…”

Yang Zhaozhao straightened his clothes, smoothed his hair, and tidied his appearance before speaking and telling the story of how Wu Sanmei had kidnapped someone for money and a house.

Wu Sanmei was anxious: "I am Xiao Cui's aunt, dear, I feel sorry for her, what's wrong with letting my short-lived elder sister take care of her daughter?"

"I'm doing good things, why doesn't anyone understand? I'm not doing this for money or a house." Wu Sanmei said hypocritically.

Grandma Cui looked at the policeman and knew that she had found the person in charge. She wanted to speak, but unfortunately her words were unclear and Zhou Mingwu couldn't understand her.

Grandma Cui was so anxious that she burst into tears.

Yang Zhaozhao comforted her: "Grandma Cui, let me tell you, don't worry, the police will take care of it for you and will never let Xiao Cui be taken away by that unscrupulous aunt."

The unscrupulous aunt was furious, pointing at Yang Zhaozhao's nose and yelling, "You stinky woman, you are an outsider who is so anxious for me to take Xiaocui away, you have bad intentions!"

"Shut up!" Zhou Mingwu knew Wu Sanmei had bad intentions. He glared at Wu Sanmei and asked Grandma Cui, "Old lady, is Xiao Cui your granddaughter?"

Grandma Cui couldn't speak, but she could nod. She nodded.

Zhou Mingwu asked again: "Is that Xiao Cui's aunt?"

Grandma Cui nodded.

Zhou Mingwu continued to ask: "You are paralyzed and you really can't take care of the child. The child is too young and needs someone to take care of him. What do you think..."

Before she finished speaking, Wu Sanmei excitedly said, "I am willing to take care of her. She is my sister's child and my child. I will raise her."

The child is in our hands, so whether there is a house or not is just a matter of a word, right?

Thinking of this, Wu Sanmei was very happy.

Grandma Cui refused and shook her head.

Zhou Mingwu understood: "If you don't let your aunt take care of Xiao Cui, who do you want to leave her to?"

Grandma Cui looked at Yang Zhaozhao, then at Li Yiling, and as if she had made up her mind, she slowly raised her trembling hand and pointed at Li Yiling.

Li Yiling secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He was willing to take Xiao Cui with him and didn't want her to be bullied.

Yang Zhaozhao felt a little regretful. In fact, she also liked Xiao Cui, but it was a pity that Grandma Cui didn’t trust her very much.

Xiao Cui felt relieved and hugged her grandmother.

Wu Sanmei exploded: "No, I don't agree!"

"Since the old man wants to entrust the child to you, the child will stay with you in the future. Please take good care of her." Zhou Mingwu made the decision.

Li Yiling nodded: "Officer Zhou, don't worry, I will take good care of her."

"Brother Li." Xiao Cui took Li Yiling's hand, smiled gratefully at him, and said to Zhou Mingwu, "Thank you, police officer."

Zhou Mingwu was heartbroken. He turned out to be his uncle.

This kid must have something wrong with his eyes. He is obviously only a few years older than Li Yiling.

He is the older brother and he is the uncle, so there is a generation difference between them!

Xiao Cui didn't know how upset Zhou Mingwu was. She happily held Li Yiling with one hand and Yang Zhaozhao with the other: "I will be a good boy in the future."

Yang Zhaozhao touched Xiao Cui's head as a reward.

Wu Sanmei cried angrily: "Comrade police officer, have you been bribed by them? They have no relatives or friends, how can they raise my sister's child? You are selling the child!"

Zhou Mingwu's face darkened when facing the accusation: "I'm telling you, slandering the police will lead to jail time. What do you think happened to me?"

Zhou Mingwu had an aura of his own in a police uniform, and he was even more terrifying when his face turned black. Wu Sanmei was frightened.

Yang Zhaozhao knew that the police had to be involved in this matter, otherwise it would be useless to beat them up. They were thick-skinned and greedy, and would not cry until they saw the coffin.

Zhou Mingwu made the final decision: "The matter of the child has been decided. If you dare to make trouble again, you will all go to the police station for a few days to sober up."

When Wu Sanmei left, the look in Yang Zhaozhao's eyes was full of resentment, as if filled with poison.

Yang Zhaozhao narrowed his eyes, not afraid of Wu Sanmei's warning look.

After they left, Zhou Mingwu looked at Yang Zhaozhao and said, "Okay, you've driven them away. Shouldn't you come with me?"

Yang Zhaozhao sighed, knowing that this trip was inevitable.

Seeing that Zhou Mingwu was about to take Yang Zhaozhao away, Xiao Cui cried anxiously: "Uncle police, my sister has been arrested!"

Yang Zhaozhao: “…”
