Chapter 298: Preferring Sons to Daughters

Carrying the big backpack, she opened the door, walked out of the yard and disappeared.

She planned to go to the back mountain to find some wild fruits to eat.

Anyway, there is no place for her in this house anymore.

If I stayed there, all I would get was roll of eyes and calculations.

Out of sight, out of mind. Might as well go up the mountain!

There are many wild fruits on the back mountain in this season.

The taste is a bit astringent and not very delicious.

The villagers usually don't eat it unless they have no other choice.

Cui Xiaoyu was so hungry that she was no longer picky.

We climbed up the back mountain and found wild grapes, wild persimmons, and countless wild sour dates.

The taste is really hard to describe.

However, in order not to starve to death, Cui Xiaoyu closed his eyes and stuffed the food into his mouth.

As she ate, tears streamed down her face.

The grievance was like a tornado, sweeping through every nerve in her body.

Life is often hard and tiring.

But she was unwilling to die like this.

No, why should she die?

She is not the one who is wrong, she must live on with strength.

Walk out a path that belongs to her!

She took a big bite of the wild sour jujube and her heart became firm again.

She ate only about 50% full and couldn't eat any more.

After wiping her mouth and hands, she found a shady spot under a tree, lay down on a rock and took a rest.

A gust of wind blew, and the leaves rustled.

…..

When the sun was about to set, Cai Hongmian walked out of the house humming a little tune.

Her two sons were about to get home from school, so she had to hurry and prepare dinner.

The school is quite far from home, and the children don’t come back at noon after going to school.

Lunch is prepared in advance and brought over, and dinner and breakfast are eaten at home.

Worried that her sons wouldn’t eat well, Cai Hongmian got up early in the morning to make breakfast for them.

There are still a few pieces of bacon and sausages in the kitchen cabinet.

Later, she plans to cook some rice and stir-fry two meat dishes to eat with it.

"Er Ni, come and help me light the fire!"

When Cai Hongmian passed by the house next door, she shouted into the house.

It’s not that Cui Xiaoyu is not needed, but her family’s dinner is not from the same pot.

The four of them ate white rice.

That Cui Xiaoyu only deserves to eat some steamed buns.

It’s too late to hide, how could I call her?

"oh!"

Cui Erni was originally going to refuse.

But she was afraid that Cai Hongmian would beat her, so she had to get up despite her uncomfortable body.

However, overall, she was not in a good mood.

Every time I make something delicious, it is usually eaten by my dad and my two younger brothers.

All she could eat were the scraps and what they had left over.

Having something to eat is better than nothing, so she didn't dare to worry too much.

After chopping and frying for a while, bursts of fragrance wafted out of the kitchen.

The busy mother and daughter had no idea that the water tank had been drugged.

When the two boys from the Cui family came back, a large table of delicious food was already set up in the main room.

Stir-fried bacon with garlic sprouts, stir-fried sausage with green peppers, eggs and tomatoes, minced meat and pickled beans, plus a plate of small greens...

"It smells so good, is today a festival?"

Cui Dapeng sniffed the aroma of food in the air and couldn't help but drool.

"Silly child, can't you eat something good even if it's not a festival?"

Seeing her two grown-up sons, Cai Hongmian instantly transformed into a loving mother.

The tone of voice was so gentle that it could squeeze out water.

“Mmm, delicious!”

Without even washing his hands, the younger Cui Erpeng grabbed the meat from the plate and stuffed it directly into his mouth.

He was eating and talking at the same time. He hadn't finished chewing the meat in his mouth yet, so his words were unclear.

"Cui Erpeng, the meal isn't even ready yet, and you're already eating. Are you a starving ghost?"

Cui Erni, who was helping to serve food, instantly became angry.

She stomped her feet hard, glared at Cui Erpeng, and screamed angrily.

“A little bit…”

Cui Erpeng was not afraid of her at all. After chewing the meat in his mouth, he made a face at her.

After swallowing a few pieces of meat, his hands and mouth were covered with grease.

With a loud slap, Cai Hongmian slapped Cui Erni on the back of the head.

"Shut up! No one thinks you're dumb!"

What a money-losing guy, all he does all day is stare at two little kids, fighting over food and drink, and doesn't he feel ashamed?

"Mom, you're so biased!"

Cui Erni curled her lips and defended herself unwillingly.

Cai Hongmian glared at Cui Erni, and she immediately shut up in fear.

"Dapeng, take your brother to wash his hands. After washing your hands, we will eat!"

She changed her expression again and gently instructed Cui Dapeng.

"Well, little brother, follow me!"

Cui Dapeng is eleven years old this year, two and a half years older than Cui Erpeng.

So, in comparison, they are much more sensible.

Cai Hongmian sat down at the table and waited for her two sons to wash their hands.

After a while, the two returned.

"Are you hungry?"

Cai Hongmian pulled out the stools and let her two sons sit down.

Then, he picked up the chopsticks and started to put the meat into the rice for both of them.

"Yeah, I'm hungry even before school's over!"

This time, Cui Dapeng nodded and agreed with her.

Teenagers are growing up, and the lunch they bring to lunch is cold by the time they eat it.

We barely finished eating, but after a while in the afternoon, we were all hungry again.

These days, there are no snacks to eat, and I have to rely on three meals a day to survive. It would be strange if I wasn’t hungry!
