Chapter 25 I can't wait!

Her luck started to turn bad about two weeks ago.

She discovered this because the prey she found on the mountain was becoming increasingly scarce.

From the original 14 or 15, to the later 8 or 9.

Today was even more outrageous; I only found four wild rabbits, and they were all small rabbits weighing four or five pounds each, with hardly any meat.

She also knew that every time she gained something, the people around her would suffer misfortune.

But since it's the people around her who are unlucky, not her, then it has nothing to do with her.

At first, she thought it was a problem with the person she was with, but even after changing the person, she saw him less and less.

If things continue like this, she even suspects that if she lets things continue unchecked, she might find fewer and fewer things.

Whether her family eats it or not is irrelevant to her; she doesn't want to lose her prey to earn money for food, which would lower her quality of life.

She mentioned in class a while ago that her family was going to buy her a watch next semester.

If there's no prey, there's no money.

No money, no watch, which means she'll be laughed at by the whole class, and she can't bear that embarrassment.

I glanced at the bracelet on my wrist, thinking that Gu Rong's words were very accurate...

Take off the bracelet from your wrist, place it on the bedside table, kneel on the floor and pray with your hands clasped together.

She wouldn't have believed this before.

But if it really works now, she doesn't recommend paying more.

She was spoiled from a young age. Even when going up the mountain, if she complained of being tired, someone would carry her. She never experienced any fatigue.

So after kneeling for only a few minutes, Han Yanru felt a lot of pain in her knees and couldn't stand it, so she lay down on the bed.

She put the bracelet on her wrist, thinking that she was lucky, much luckier than others, and that no one could compare to her.

So what others have to kneel for a whole day to get, she only had to kneel for a few minutes, which should be enough.

Thinking this, Han Yanru lay on the bed, and when the aroma of meat wafted in from outside, she quickly got up and went out to eat.

Gu Xing was worried about Gu Rong, fearing she wouldn't adapt well, so he thought he should finish his work as soon as possible so he could help Gu Rong cut grass for the cows.

Seeing that it was almost noon, and worried that Gu Rong was hungry, he left work early and went home.

Looking at the locked door, I thought my sister hadn't come back.

Thinking that with Han Xinyun there, Gu Rong should be fine, she prepared to cook first so that Gu Rong could eat as soon as she returned.

As I entered the courtyard, I saw the paper in front of Gu Rong's door. Looking at its contents, I couldn't help but feel worried.

However, thinking that Han Xinyun hadn't contacted him, his sister must not be injured, so he didn't bother Gu Rong.

Going to the kitchen, as Gu Rong requested, I stewed the rabbit and kept it warm so that it would still be hot when Gu Rong woke up to eat.

Gu Rong slept soundly, and when she woke up it was already past four in the afternoon.

After getting up, I went straight to the kitchen and looked at the rabbit meat inside. It looked like it hadn't been touched.

Seeing that it was getting late, Gu Rong didn't eat anything first, but just ate some biscuits and waited for Gu Xing to come back.

She didn't have to wait long; around 4:30, Gu Xing returned.

When they came back, they were still carrying the basket they had ordered.

Not long after they finished eating, Cao Baobao and Pu Tao came over.

They ate together at the educated youth compound, and the two of them just took advantage of the time to come over, grab what they needed, and leave.

Gu Xing also told the two where to get the baskets, and that they could pick them up themselves later.

After the two left, Gu Xing inquired about the rabbit: "What happened to the rabbit?"

Gu Rong spread his hands, looking completely innocent: "After completing the mission, I just strolled around the mountain for a while."

I saw that the rabbit was quite silly, just standing there without moving, and I easily caught it with one hand.

Gu Xing had only encountered this situation with Han Yanru, and couldn't help but worry: "Did you run into anyone? Were you injured?"

Gu Rong shook her head: "Yes, it seems to be Xin Yi's cousin and brother. I wasn't injured, but the women with them were quite injured."

I think you told me that I grabbed the rabbit and ran away, without going with them.”

Even though her younger sister was alright, Gu Xing couldn't help but worry when she heard that she had met Han Yanru.

I couldn't help but say a few more words: "If you want to go for a walk in the mountains in the future, wait for me to finish work and go with you. Don't go in by yourself, okay?"

"Don't worry, brother, I'll be careful. You don't need to worry," Gu Rong said, changing the subject to avoid Gu Xing continuing.

"If I want to go to the commune, do I have to find my own way? Can I rent an oxcart from the village?"

Gu Xing explained: "Every five days, there is an oxcart that goes to the commune. We have to gather at the village entrance at five o'clock in the morning."

If you want to go somewhere else, you can borrow the brigade leader's bicycle, or pay 1 yuan to hire an oxcart. What do you want to buy?

"You're getting married soon, and as your only relative, I have to help you with the arrangements."

Yesterday I went to the village entrance and asked the aunties there. They said there were some things we didn't have and we had to buy them.

"You're busy at work every day, but I'm relatively free here, so I can go shopping." Actually, if she could, she wouldn't want to move at all.

But if there are things you can help with, then help out.

Moreover, if she goes to town, she can walk around and pick up some things she needs.

Her bag is only so big; it can't just go out without taking in anything.

And that sickle, the ones in the village are too old and worn out, she wants to get her own to save herself the trouble.

Gu Rong had just arrived in the village and was unfamiliar with everything, so Gu Xing was worried about letting her go to town by herself: "I'll take care of these things. You can use your time to find Xin Yi and ask her if she needs anything."

She's 17 now, which is about a year in modern times, so she's considered an adult.

Gu Rong felt somewhat helpless seeing Gu Xing's obvious unease.
