Chapter 26 My Future Wife

Gu Rong stared at A Xi in confusion: "A Xi, what's going on? You gave me a pirated book?"

Ah Xi explained tremblingly, "No, Master, because Gu Jiazhen went to the countryside, she changed the original course of the book, so the world has changed, therefore... the book is no longer accurate."

"Really?" Gu Rong's gaze swept over the two people opposite her. "Then who are they? We should at least introduce them, right?"

"Wait a moment," Ah Xi quickly opened the panel and frantically searched.

Whether it was because her gaze was too intense or because she was too conspicuous, the two men met her eyes and nodded as a greeting.

Although they didn't know each other, they would eventually be from the same village, so Gu Rong nodded politely and sat down to wait for A-Xi's explanation.

One of the male educated youths, after making eye contact with Gu Rong, kept his gaze fixed on her.

The other person standing next to him nudged his shoulder: "Alright, stop looking. It should be the village now. If you like it, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future."

The man looked away, rolled his eyes at his friend, and quickly walked to Gu Rong's side: "Hello, lady, my name is Chu Jianshu, and I'm a new educated youth."

I'm 19 years old, handsome, with no bad habits, and three generations of my family have been in the military. I fell in love with you at first sight. Do you have a boyfriend? If not, can I be your boyfriend?

Looking at the somewhat abrupt person in front of her, Gu Rong was completely bewildered: "Huh?"

Seeing her expression, Chu Jianshu smiled and said, "I've fallen in love with you at first sight. Can I be your boyfriend and then your husband?"

"You're being a pervert, you idiot!" Gu Rong raised her hand and slapped the man across the face before turning and leaving with a dark expression.

Chu Jianshu was not angry at being hit; instead, he smiled and touched his slapped face.

Seeing his brother inexplicably going to the countryside and then inexplicably harassing people there, Li Chengyang was a little confused: "Brother, what are you doing? What are you doing?"

Raising an eyebrow at Gu Rong's retreating figure, Chu Jianshu said smugly, "My future wife, isn't she beautiful?"

Li Chengyang raised his hand and patted Chu Jianshu's forehead: "One slap didn't make you stupid, so why are you talking nonsense?"

"Spare the rod and spoil the child, you wouldn't understand even if I told you," Chu Jianshu rolled her eyes at Li Chengyang, turned and walked to the car, saying to the man inside:

“Go back and tell my dad that I’ve found a boyfriend here, and that he’ll send me more money every month from now on, otherwise I’ll go back to them.”

"Yes," the man nodded repeatedly upon hearing this, and quickly turned the car around and drove away.

Watching the car speeding away, Li Chengyang shook his head and clicked his tongue, saying, "See? Your old man really has exiled you. It'll be hard for you to go back now."

“Exile is fine. Let’s go, the brigade leader must be getting impatient.” Chu Jianshu withdrew his gaze, rolled his eyes at Li Chengyang, and followed Han Zhenglian toward the educated youth compound.

Upon arriving at the educated youth compound, Chu Jianshu, looking at the surrounding environment, immediately took out his money and rented two rooms, one for himself and one for Li Chengyang.

He didn't bring much with him, and since it was still early, he didn't plan to pack up right away.

Instead, he called out to Han Zhenglian, "Captain, wait a moment," and offered him a cigarette, "Captain, I'd like to ask, was that woman from our village?"

If someone else asks, Han Zhenglian has no interest in answering.

But he dared not slack off when it came to Chu Jianshu.

Don't let this seemingly unreliable person fool you. According to people in the commune, Chu Jianshu's grandfather, father, and uncles hold considerable status in the capital and are not people they can afford to offend.

If he could get this connection, his life would be worthwhile.

Han Zheng accepted the cigarette and replied with a smile, "I'm a bit older than you, you can just call me Uncle Lian."

The person who just saw that was a sent-down youth in the village named Gu Rong. His brother was also sent to the countryside in the village. They have a house at the end of the village and don't live here.

"Really?" Chu Jianshu frowned, but only for a moment, before looking up at Han Zhenglian: "Captain, are there any remaining plots of land at the end of the village? I'd like to buy one and build my own house."

The village would have some income from selling the land, so Han Zhenglian readily agreed: "Yes, it does, and the procedures are easy to handle. It's just that getting bricks for building houses is difficult."

"You just need to approve the slips, I'll handle the rest myself," Chu Jianshu glanced at the sky, it was still early: "Uncle Lian, it's still early."

I'm quite curious about the village, so I don't need to go too far; I can just wander around the end of the village and the foot of the mountain behind it.

Han Zhenglian knew perfectly well what the other party was thinking; it was obvious that she had her eye on Gu Rong and wanted to make her presence known.

If he could bring the two together, Chu Jianshu would definitely thank him, and that would establish a relationship: "Of course, no problem."

When Li Chengyang saw that Chu Jianshu was about to leave, he insisted on following him.

When I reached the end of the village and looked at the desolate surroundings, I didn't understand what was so interesting about visiting this place.

But when the brigade leader led them into a house at the end of the village and saw the women sitting in the courtyard, he immediately understood the significance of this 'stroll'.

Seeing the people coming in, Gu Rong frowned and called out, "Brother, the captain has brought his men over. Come out and greet them."

After saying that, Gu Rong turned to go back to her room, but Chu Jianshu immediately called out, "Hello, comrade. My name is Chu Jianshu. We just met. May I ask what your name is?"

"None of your business," Gu Rong said, glaring at the other person before turning and running back to her room.

Gu Xing walked out of the kitchen and looked at the two unfamiliar people: "Captain, who are these two?"

Han Zhenglian explained: "The newly arrived educated youth in the village wanted to learn about the village, so I took them around. We ended up here, and since someone was home, I came over to say hello."

If they were ordinary educated youth, he would never have seen the brigade leader so enthusiastic; it was clear that the two of them were not ordinary people.
