Chapter 4 Beating Up the Original Owner's Father

After a shopping spree, I finally finished selecting all 100 items at the last minute and paid in one go.

The money in the account shrank instantly to 153.62 yuan.

Fortunately, she has plenty of things in the space, and the one thing she has in abundance right now is money.

After his retaliatory spending spree, he quickly finished the food in his bowl, wiped his mouth, and left.

Judging by the time, Gu Qiang should be home by now and should go back to watch the show.

Because she was full and satisfied, Gu Rong was in a great mood.

As soon as I reached the door, I saw several women chatting about the Gu family.

"You tell me, how much money will the Gu family lose? Gu Qiang was so angry that he hit his little girl."

"No matter how much that little girl bullied the guy in front, he never said a word."

"I'd guess it's at least that much, considering the family in the previous house was quite wealthy."

"That can't be right. They donated it all back then. That family later went overseas and cut ties with Rongxin. How could they possibly have left any money?"

"Why not? Rong Xin was the most favored daughter in the family back then, so they would definitely have left her some good things. Gu Qiang is in his current position because of the Rong family."

That's all the stuff they had. When they sent people to investigate, no one could find it. They moved here because their previous home was destroyed, and they had no choice but to move.

Otherwise, think about it, why would a group of people move to this small courtyard instead of staying in a perfectly good large courtyard house?

"What you said makes sense. That's the situation inside. Should we try to stop them? What if someone gets killed?"

"It's none of our business, we can just watch the show. Have you forgotten the time when his eldest son and daughter were beaten, and the neighbor went to help, only to be retaliated against later?"

"No need to stop them, they've already stopped inside."

Standing outside the crowd, I could hear the noise coming from inside, mixed with Gu Qiang's insults and Gu's mother's crying.

Gu Rong, her face beaming with excitement, pushed aside the people gathered at the doorway: "Family members, make way! I'm from the Gu family. Let me see what's going on."

"Everyone's watching, don't push."

"Don't push, don't push, someone stepped on my foot."

Gu Rong used her agile footwork to dart left and right through the crowd and quickly squeezed to the door.

Looking at the courtyard, there was an angry Gu Qiang, and Bai Rou and Gu Jiazhen trembling beside him.

Previously, because of Gu Jiazhen's birth, Gu Qiang got what he had always wanted and treated her very well, never losing his temper with her.

Gu Jiazhen said with some grievance, "Dad, don't be angry. Mom and I didn't expect anyone to dare to steal things in broad daylight."

The important thing now is to find someone to call the police, catch the thief, and get everything back.

Bai Rou looked at all this and thought about these things. She couldn't let her and her daughter carry this on their backs. Her eyes lit up and she said, "Brother Qiang, Xiao Rong is acting strangely today."

She used to stay home all the time except when she was at school, and she never talked back to us. But today, not only did she talk back, she hasn't come home yet, and some things are missing from the house. I suspect...

Sometimes, it's better to leave things unsaid, intentionally giving people room for imagination.

Gu Qiang hadn't originally thought of that, but considering the Rong family's former status and position, it wasn't impossible for them to keep one or two servants.

He felt that Rong Xin's belongings were more than just what he had left behind; the Rong family must have left something else.

This is also why, even though he felt that Gu Rong and Gu Xing were a stain on his reputation, he didn't send them away.

However, after Rongxin's death, his eldest son distanced himself from him. Later, he signed up to go to the countryside and even threatened to expose his affairs if he didn't treat Gu Rong well.

However, those who have been sent to the countryside in Heilongjiang Province and have no power are unable to investigate the situation in Beijing.

So over the years, he used Gu Rong's name to ask for a lot of grain and money, and even made Gu Rong write letters to let him know that she was safe.

He doesn't actually lack these things, but he doesn't like being threatened, and he just wants to make things difficult for Gu Xing.

Gu Xing certainly couldn't take those things from the house, but the Rong family had once been deeply entrenched in Beijing, and he didn't believe they didn't have some backup plan.

The more Gu Qiang thought about it, the more frightened he became. If it really was the Rong family who made the move, then what about the things in his basement...?

Gu Qiang's heart pounded. He looked up at the people at the gate and met Gu Rong's gaze: "What are you still standing there for? Get in here and explain. Did you steal the things in the house?"

Meeting the gazes of those around her, Gu Rong walked over confidently and said, "The things in the house will all belong to me and my brother after you die. I'll just wait for you to die, why would I steal them?"

After all, how can you call it stealing something that belongs to a scholar?

Moreover, these things originally belonged to the original owner's mother, that is, to the original owner and her brother. Gu Qiang and the others used them all these years, but she didn't ask them for them because she was afraid of exposing herself.

Hearing Gu Rong curse her to die, she realized that Gu Rong was just like her deceased mother, unable to bear seeing him do well.

Gu Qiang was furious. He picked up a stick and started hitting Gu Rong, yelling, "You, you, you unfilial daughter, I'll beat you to death!"

A stick as thick as an adult's arm was struck straight at Gu Rong.

The onlookers at the entrance were all frightened.

Gu Qiang was clearly going all out; if he really hit the root, the person would be crippled even if they didn't die.

The original owner still had some affection for her father, Gu Qiang, but harbored resentment towards Gu Jiazhen and Bai Rou.

But Gu Rong now doesn't care who he is; as long as she's happy, that's all that matters.

Seeing the stick in front of him, he quickly swallowed a powerful pill, caught the stick with his hand, and with a forceful pull, struck Gu Qiang with his backhand.

While hitting her, he shouted, "These five blows are for my mother. Right after she died, you married Bai Rou and brought home Gu Jiazhen, your illegitimate daughter."

These five blows were for my brother who suffered in the countryside. Over the years, you've used my name to ask him for so much money and food. You're a beast.
