Chapter 19: Change Class

The next day, Gu Qiu did not go to school and was ordered by his brothers and sisters to stay at home and read books by himself.

Gu Xia still had to continue going to school, so she took Gu Dong to the Yuhong class when she went out.

Gu Chun went to the school again. She didn't plan to look for Gu Qiu's class teacher. If that teacher really cared about Gu Qiu, he would not have turned a blind eye to her experience.

She went straight to the principal's office, knocked on the door, and went in to see Principal Chen of the elementary school.

When I opened the door, I saw a middle-aged man sitting at the desk. He was wearing glasses and of medium build. Maybe because he was a teacher, he had a very easy-going temperament and made people feel very friendly when they saw him.

"Hello, Principal Chen, excuse me for disturbing you. I'm Gu Chun, the older sister of Gu Qiu from Class 1, Grade 5. I came to see you today because I have something to discuss with you."

Principal Chen was also a little surprised that few parents would come directly to his office.

The girl opposite was wearing the uniform of a textile factory worker. The gray clothes could not hide her elegance. She had two pigtails, bright eyes, and a polite smile on her face.

"Hello, Comrade Gu Chun, please take a seat. What do you want to discuss with me?"

Principal Chen is always very patient when dealing with students' parents, for he is worried that there may be any problems with the students' studies.

"I want to tell you something. My sister, Gu Qiu, has always been a very good student. From first grade to now, she has always been in the top five. She is also quite introverted and never gets into conflicts with others."

"But a while ago, a few classmates started bullying her. They took the lead in isolating her and piled the seat next to her with miscellaneous items. Yesterday, they even brought people to block her outside the school."

"I just want to ask you, is it true that your school's education system produces students with such low quality?"

Principal Chen was also surprised to hear Gu Chun's words. He always attached great importance to students' studies. He also had some impression of this student Gu Qiu, who had always had good academic performance.

The fifth grade is the graduating class and will be promoted to junior high school next year, so a new teacher was specially transferred this year, and the two head teachers are responsible for Class 1 and Class 2 respectively.

If I remember correctly, the fifth-grade class teacher was Ms. Lu, a recent graduate of the Workers, Peasants, and Soldiers University. I'd never heard her report anything like this. Logically, as a homeroom teacher, she shouldn't have failed to notice this.

However, this does not mean that Teacher Lu deliberately allowed students to isolate and bully their classmates.

"Comrade Gu Chun, I understand the problem you've raised. But I can't just take your word for it. Wait a minute, I'll ask the class teacher, Mr. Lu, to come over and ask her in person."

Gu Chun nodded in agreement. She didn't expect Principal Chen to believe her just based on a few words.

Her goal was to confront Teacher Lu face to face. With Principal Chen around, things would be much easier.

Lu Chunmei was also confused as to why Principal Chen suddenly came to see her.

She has been teaching at this school for some time and has not had much contact with Principal Chen.

After all, her status as a worker-peasant-soldier college student was a bit fishy. Her father got her a place through the back door, and she didn't study hard when she was in school.

Principal Chen talks about focusing on studying all the time. She hates these old pedants the most.

"Principal Chen, what do you want me for?" After entering the principal's office, she saw a textile factory worker who was quite good-looking. He couldn't be a relative of Principal Chen.

"Teacher Lu, this is the parent of Gu Qiu, a student in your class. She heard that Gu Qiu was bullied by his classmates, and she wants you to confirm whether this is true."

Of course Lu Chunmei knew about this matter, and she felt a little guilty after hearing this, but she still said stubbornly:

"There's no bullying at all. As the class teacher, how could I not know this? I'm not saying anything, but Gu Qiu is just too arrogant. He keeps his head down all day and doesn't want to talk to anyone."

Principal Chen squinted his eyes and looked at her. He had seen countless people, and seeing her behavior, he knew that she was deliberately letting it go.

Gu Chun sneered: "Oh? You didn't bully her. Then let me ask Teacher Lu, why is the seat next to Gu Qiu empty? And why is there so much stuff piled up there, and you, as the head teacher, have never noticed it?"

"Parent, please pay attention to your attitude. I am Gu Qiu's teacher."

"The seat next to you is empty because a classmate transferred to another school. No one wants to sit with your Gu Qiu because she's so unpopular. All those things piled up belong to other students. Why should I care?"

Gu Chun was so angry and amused by her self-righteous attitude. How could he learn anything in a class with a teacher like that?

"Teacher Lu, you know you're Gu Qiu's teacher, so why did you pretend to be blind while watching her being bullied? Why do you keep accusing Gu Qiu of being arrogant and unpopular? She's the victim, and instead of blaming the students who isolated her, you turn around and criticize my sister. What kind of teacher are you? Are you qualified to be a teacher?"

Lu Chunmei had never suffered such humiliation before. She had always regarded herself as a worker-peasant-soldier college student and felt that she was superior to others. Now, she was being pointed at and scolded. Did they think she was someone who could be easily provoked?

"I'm not qualified to be a teacher? I'm a worker-peasant-soldier university student. I'm not comparable to some random person. You say I'm not qualified to be a teacher? Fine, then your sister Gu Qiu shouldn't come to my class anymore."

Lu Chunmei had always been competitive and would not tolerate anyone being better than her. Once she entered this school, she was a popular college student. She was also good-looking and considered herself very popular.

Those little kids are so unfashionable and annoying to look at. If being a teacher wasn't a stable job with the possibility of marrying a cadre in the future, she wouldn't want to teach elementary school students.

But among them was Gu Qiu, who had a unique temperament and was always so confident and calm when he raised his hand to speak.
