Chapter 33 Call the Police 1

"What's going on?"

"It was your third aunt who persuaded your grandmother to marry you to her cousin's brother-in-law.

She said her brother-in-law's house is not far from where you are, and he seems to be a fool."

Gu Xia's face turned red with anger when she heard this: "Uncle, why did that grandma marry my sister off? I don't agree."

Gu Chun patted him and said, "Axia, listen to your uncle first."

"Your third aunt gave your grandma a bad idea. She said to get the betrothal gift first and then ask their family to find a few people to marry you."

"He also said that you should give the job to your third uncle's Gu Dabao."

Gu Chun tapped the table with his fingers: "Uncle, do they mean to take me away by force?

Aren’t they afraid that I will call the police?”

"They plan to take you to the wedding hall first. By then, you'll be married and it will be too late to regret it."

Gu Chun sneered. Are you planning to force a sale?

Girls of this era value their reputation and will not divorce easily. Once they get married, they may not regret it for the sake of their reputation.

Uncle Gu quickly told his daughter-in-law's solution: "Your aunt asked me to tell you, see if you can find a few people to help stop them from taking you away.

I'll stay and help you, and I'll testify for you later that your father has been adopted by our second uncle, and your grandmother has no right to marry you off."

Gu Chun laughed inwardly after hearing this. This aunt was a nice person. She was not afraid of getting into trouble just because their parents had both passed away.

This uncle is still afraid of his wife.

"Uncle, I'll do as you say. You stay and testify for me later. But I don't plan to ask anyone for help. I'm going to call the police directly."

"By then, Grandpa, Grandma, and Third Aunt might all be arrested, and you..."

Gu Chun was a little hesitant. After all, they were Uncle Gu’s biological parents. He was afraid that he would not be able to bear it and would be embarrassed.

Uncle Gu shook his head: "They brought this upon themselves, they need to be taught a lesson.

Since we were little, they've treated your dad and I as if we didn't exist. Sometimes I'd even get some food and drink, and your dad and the others didn't care at all."

"Everyone is gone, and they still want to plot against you, a child. It's really disheartening."

Uncle Gu actually saw a lot of things clearly after the family split up.

He was treated like a workhorse at home since he was a child. He could work in the fields at the age of twelve or thirteen and earn work points as an adult.

But despite his efforts, his parents still loved the third son, Gu Jinbao, the most.

His second brother and he were like the grass in the field and the mud on the wall.

Fortunately, he married a strong wife who divided the family property for him.

He had someone who cared about him and a caring little cotton-padded jacket. It was not until the family separated that he realized what the warmth of home was.

As for his second brother, he has been like a child without parents since he was a child.

Later, he became his second uncle's son and his life became better. He was admitted to a factory and got married.

I thought I would live a good life from now on, but I didn't expect it to be gone like this.

Even though he was dead, his parents were still plotting against his second brother's children.

It's so heartbreaking that he wants to marry his niece to a fool just to take her job away from her.

He began to doubt whether his second brother was his biological son.

"Chun'er, go ahead and call the police. I can testify for you. Your father's job is definitely not theirs, and your grandma has no right to marry you off."

Gu Chun felt relieved after hearing him say that. Some people should be killed all at once to avoid them coming out to disgust others for no reason.

The next morning, Gu Chun went to the factory and first found Director Liu. After all, this matter was also for her job, so she needed to explain it to the director first.

After hearing this, Director Liu slammed the table and said, "How dare they... We made it clear at the time that your job has nothing to do with them.

Besides, they are not your grandparents in name only, so why should they marry you off?"

"Gu Chun, don't be afraid. If they come, I'll call the comrades from the factory security department to help you stop them."

Director Liu really sympathized with Gu Chun. Not only did he lose his parents, but he had finally gotten back on track, and then someone came to mess things up. This child was truly plagued by misfortunes.

Being looked at with sympathy by the old man, Gu Chun got goose bumps all over his body and quickly said, "Director, thank you in advance. I'm not afraid. I'm a good citizen who abides by the law, so I plan to call the police."

Director Liu clapped his hands and said, "Yes, you should call the police. It will be even better if they can help you. They probably don't want to go to the Public Security Bureau either."

Gu Chun nodded, asked for leave and went to the Public Security Bureau.

As soon as I entered, I saw a policewoman sitting in front of me. She stood up and asked, "Little girl, what's going on?"

The female police officer was also very surprised. After all, people are quite afraid of the Public Security Bureau nowadays, and no one would walk in so brazenly.

"Hello sister, I'm a worker at the textile factory and I'm here to call the police."

"Hello, then come with me first and I'll make a record."

After entering the office and sitting down, the female police officer asked, "Little girl, first tell me your name, where you live, and why you came to the police."

Gu Chun nodded, acting like a little lamb: "Hello, my name is Gu Chun, I am the propaganda officer of the textile factory, and I live in Chunguang Courtyard in Bali Hutong.

I came back to report this to the police because my grandparents in the countryside are planning to marry me off to a fool so they can get my job."

The female police officer frowned after hearing this. Grandpa and grandma from the countryside married their granddaughter from the city to a fool?

Is it just for work? What about this girl's parents?

"Little girl, what about your parents?"

Gu Chun's eyes were red, tears welling up in his eyes: "My parents passed away at the beginning of this year while trying to save the factory's supplies. I took over my mother's job."
