Gu Xia Extra 12: Rushing to the Battlefield

When they returned to headquarters from Africa, they were all covered in dust and dirt.

This trip is not easy at all. They have to disinfect and protect themselves every day and work more than ten hours a day.

When we came back, everyone was so tired that they wanted to lie down.

But according to the organization's predecessors, such a mission can only be considered elementary, and they will face a more dangerous situation next time.

No matter whether it was dangerous or not, the first thing Gu Xia did when he returned to the hotel was to take a shower and change clothes.

When I went downstairs, I met Linda who was going out to eat. "Hey, Gu, where are you going?"

"Go make a phone call."

Linda was very interested in Gu Xia's plan to call back to China, that mysterious country.

So she asked if she could go with her, and Gu Xia agreed.

The call was connected and it was An An who answered the phone.

"Hello, hello, this is Gu Chun's house."

The sound is so cute.

Gu Xia smiled unconsciously: "An An, it's me."

"Wow, it's my uncle! Uncle, where are you?"

"My uncle is in France. How is An An doing recently?"

“…”

Gu Xia chatted with his family for a long time, and Linda stood by and listened.

Although they didn't speak the same language, she could see a happy smile on Gu Xia's face.

He seldom smiles, but he looks really good when he does.

Linda stared at his face for a moment.

When Gu Xia heard An An say on the phone that she was learning English, she told her that she had a foreign sister and asked her if she wanted to chat with Linda.

An An happily asked her uncle to give the phone to her little sister as soon as possible.

Linda took the phone and greeted An An, listening to her speak to her in children's English.

She suddenly understood why Gu Xia was so happy when she called. It turned out that hearing a child's childish words could make people feel much more relaxed.

She answered An An's questions patiently, and the two of them actually chatted a lot.

After hanging up the phone, An An proudly told her father that her English was very good and she could even chat with her foreign sister.

Little did she know that the foreign sister was just trying to accommodate her.

"Thank you for chatting with An An." Gu Xia could hear An An's happy laughter through the microphone.

Linda is very patient with children.

He discovered this when he was in Africa. She would take care of the children and feed them one bite at a time.

Her eyes always hold the warmest affection.

In Gu Xia's eyes, she was like a fairy from heaven, with a compassionate heart towards the children in the human world.

Linda thought of An An's childish words and said with a smile, "I like her so much, An An, she's such a cute child."

She likes children very much. She thinks children are the most innocent and kindest animals in the world.

Gu Xia talked to her about An An and took out a photo from his wallet to show her.

It was a photo of An An and Ze Chuan.

"Oh my god, she's really cute in person, and this little boy, he looks like you."

Many foreigners also have face blindness towards Asians.

But Linda doesn't, she can tell the difference between Gu Xia and other Asians.

Although the two children look somewhat similar, they also have differences.

For example, the little boy was a mini version of Gu Xia, and she thought he was so cute the moment she saw him.

Gu Xia introduced his two nephews to her, talking about their personalities and their preferences.

He also likes children, which Linda has known for a long time because she once heard Gu Xia talk about the little girl in the small mountain village.

If you don't like children, how can you be so careful and care about a child's feelings?

They found a restaurant to have dinner, and when they came out, Gu Xia asked her if she wanted to go to the mall with him so that he could pick out gifts for the children.

Linda happily followed.

She also gave advice and chose suitable gifts for the children.

An An and Tian Tian’s is a Barbie doll, and Ze Chuan’s is a remote-controlled airplane.

I also bought some small bean buns and milk candies as gifts.

"Thank you for accompanying me to the mall today. Good night."

"Good night." Linda said goodbye to him and went into her room.

Gu Xia put the address on the gifts and sent them out the next day.

Today's news: A civil war broke out in country x, with 200 casualties on the first day.

"You all saw the message, right? The next mission location is right here. If anyone doesn't want to go, you can quit now."

No one who comes here wants to retreat.

The entire group signed a voluntary pledge.

The day before boarding the plane, Gu Xia still called home.

He didn't say anything, but Gu Chun knew that he was going to do something dangerous.

"Be safe and I'll wait for you to come home."

At this point, this was all she could tell him.

Gu Xia felt full of remorse, but still moved forward.

On the second day after the civil war broke out in x, Gu Xia and his group arrived at the airport.

After getting off the plane, everything was still calm.

At this time, it was still a small-scale war, and at least in big cities, people could still maintain normal life.

They rested in the capital of country x and learned that the war broke out mainly in the southern region.

Yesterday and today, more than 500 people were killed or injured.

Rescue efforts were urgent, so the entire team immediately drove to the southern region under the escort of soldiers.

It was already night when we arrived at the hospital.

The infrastructure here was destroyed and the hospital activated the backup power supply.

It was dead silent outside.

There was wailing everywhere in the hospital. Due to insufficient wards, many people just lay in the corridor crying.

The cruel reality is right before them.

This time they did not feel uncomfortable anymore. They had only one belief in their hearts: hurry up, faster, and save people.

"Hurry! That patient is dying." Gu Xia ran over and saw the patient who was bleeding profusely.

She took out some hemostatic powder from her bag and sprinkled it on his wound.

The bleeding stopped soon, and when he was about to turn around to look for something, someone handed him disinfectant.

Following the hand, I saw it was Linda.

He nodded, cleaned the wound with disinfectant, and stretched out his hand again. Linda handed him the surgical needle.

After the wound was sutured, the patient's vital signs had returned to normal.

Gu Xia breathed a sigh of relief, looked at Linda and smiled.

Other members also went to rescue the patients.

The group of people rushed on their way without stopping for a moment to rescue the injured.

In the end, when I felt sleepy, I just leaned against the wall and took a nap.

The next morning, someone came to deliver water and food to the hospital.

Gu Xia ate the bread with a mouthful of water, gobbling it up ravenously, obviously hungry.

Same thing with Linda.

On the third day of the Civil War, the fighting in the South intensified.

More injured people were sent here today and the hospital is overloaded.

They could only set up tents outside the hospital and continue to provide rescue services.

There are not enough doctors and nurses, and they wish they could be torn into eight pieces to do their job.

What’s more, there are not enough medicines!
