The days passed, and there were still two days left before the college entrance examination.
"Taotao, have you heard? Tomorrow the village can send us to the county town to see the test site by tractor." Hu Xiao said excitedly to Su Tao.
"Really?" Su Tao stopped writing the test questions and replied in surprise. She had been thinking about going up to the examination room with He Chuan early tomorrow to check it out, so as to avoid being confused and wasting time on the day of the test.
"Well, I went to see the examination venue with the villagers in the car, and Jiang Dashi helped me arrange accommodation in the county, which made it convenient for me to go to the examination venue the next day." Hu Xiao said shyly.
"That's great. I don't plan to go back. I'll find a guesthouse in the county to stay for one night when I get there." Basically, everyone is the same, unless their home is in the county. It's too late to rush from the village on the day of the exam.
"You don't have to stay in the guesthouse. I have a place to stay in the county. We can stay there. It's not far from the examination hall." He Chuan heard Su Tao and Hu Xiao talking.

The place He Chuan was referring to was the temporary storage space he and Jiang Dashi had rented for their cargo. In reality, Hu Xiao and Su Tao could have lived there together, while He Chuan and Jiang Dashi could have stayed in the transport team's dormitories.
Out of selfish motives, He Chuan wanted to stay with Su Tao before the Gaokao and go to the exam together the next day. So he discussed it with Jiang Dashi, who arranged for He Chuan to live with Hu Xiao in a separate place. So He Chuan ended up living with Su Tao.
"Oh, you still have a place to stay in the county?" Su Tao said pleasantly. Not having to stay in a guesthouse was the best thing. The guesthouses of that era were truly terrible. Not only was the hygiene terrible, but the quilts and covers weren't changed daily like they are today. They were usually only changed after different people had slept in them for a long time and they became particularly dirty. If it weren't for the lack of options and the reluctance to travel back and forth, Su Tao wouldn't have bothered to stay there.
"Then let's meet at the village entrance tomorrow and go to see the examination room together." Hu Xiao waved his little hand and walked towards the door.
"Yeah, see you tomorrow."
On the next day, Su Tao got up early to pack his things, including clothes and exam supplies.
"Have you packed up everything?" He Chuan asked Su Tao as he looked at him busy.
"Everything is here. Admission tickets. You and I have prepared three pens each, in case one breaks during the exam or the pen runs out of ink." Su Tao patted the package and said.
"Not bringing your books anymore?" He Chuan raised his eyebrows and asked.
"Well, forget it. It's the last day. We've seen everything we need to see. There's no point cramming at the last minute. After we've looked at the exam room today, we'll go back and have a good rest. We'll adjust our state for the exam tomorrow." The mentality for taking an exam is very important. In later generations, we've seen too many people who read all night before an exam and couldn't sleep due to nervousness, which affected or delayed the exam the next day.
He Chuan took the package and put it on his back. He took Su Tao's hand and said with a smile, "Let's go."
The village car is only responsible for taking everyone to the county town, and after arriving, everyone has to make their own arrangements.
