Chapter 126: Choosing a Gift (1/2)

Chapter 126 Choosing a Gift

Su Tao and He Chuan went downstairs and parted ways with Su's father. Su's father was not going in the same direction as them. He was in a hurry to go to work, so he got on his bicycle and rushed in one direction.

Su Tao watched his father disappear around the corner before turning his head and saying to He Chuan, "Let's go."

Su Tao and He Chuan walked around their home for a while before finally settling on a guesthouse. It was affiliated with a coal mine and the accommodations were average, a little worse than the others they had chosen, but it was close to Su Tao's home.

"Are you sure about this one? Or maybe we should just go with the one we had earlier?" Su Tao frowned as he looked at the guesthouse. The conditions were indeed rather shabby. The entire room consisted of a bed and a table with a kettle on top. The walls were a bit yellow, and there were some black mold spots on them.

"Here's the place, it's about the same. Besides, I'll be at your house during the day, and I'll just come here to sleep at night." He was a rough guy, so he could live anywhere. When he was driving a truck, he'd lived in many places worse than this.

Su Tao couldn't persuade the man, so he had to give up. The two of them went to the post office again to pick up the clothes and bedding they had mailed last time and put them in the hotel they rented.

He Chuan also checked and found out that the betrothal gifts he asked Jiang Dashi to mail had not arrived yet. He would ask again in a couple of days. Since the marriage proposal had already been made, the betrothal gifts had to be delivered as soon as possible.

"We're going to your uncle's house this afternoon. Let's go to the department store and buy some gifts." Seeing that the hotel matter was basically over, Su Tao turned around and suggested.

"Okay, I'll listen to you. My uncle's family is very simple, with my uncle, aunt, a cousin and a cousin." He Chuan said with a smile. Even if Su Tao didn't mention it, he would have planned to do so later.

Su Tao brought He Chuan to the most famous department store in Beijing. The mall was divided into three floors. The first floor mainly sold food, tobacco, alcohol, and daily necessities. The second floor sold textile fabrics, clothing, shoes and hats, gold and electrical materials. The third floor sold high-end and valuable goods such as clocks, radios, and music instruments.

"It's still the same as before, no changes." He Chuan sighed as he looked at the familiar building.

"Have you been here?" Su Tao was a little surprised.

"You forgot, I also grew up in Beijing when I was a child. I didn't go back to the countryside with my father until I was almost a teenager." He Chuan looked down at Su Tao and said.

"That's right, look at my brain. Your uncle's family is from Beijing, so you must have lived in Beijing before. This department store has been around since 1955, so of course you have seen it." Su Tao said with sudden enlightenment.

He Chuan looked at the buildings and the people passing by, and his mind flashed back to when he was a child, when his father took him to the department store. Before the accident, his family was well-off, and his father never lacked food and clothing for him, often taking him to buy new clothes and delicious food. But now, things have changed, but people have changed.

Su Tao and He Chuan walked into the mall and bought some regular gifts like cigarettes and alcohol on the first floor. He Chuan wanted to buy some skin care products for his aunt and cousin, but Su Tao stopped him. "I have a lot of skin care products. I'll take some out for my aunt and cousin. My products are better than these."

He Chuan looked at Su Tao's delicate little face and the silky skin he touched on the night of their engagement, and his face flushed. Su Tao's skin care products in bottles and jars were indeed very effective.

Since they didn't need to buy skin care products, the two of them went to the second floor, which was filled with fabrics and clothing.

The two of them were strolling around randomly when He Chuan's eyes suddenly lit up and a wedding clothes counter came into view. Various red dresses were neatly hung on the counter.

"Taotao, we are going to have the wedding soon. Let me buy you a wedding dress." He Chuan turned to Su Tao with a smile and said.
