Chapter 137: Marriage Negotiation (2/2)

He Chuan and Su Tao would go back and forth between Su's father and mother respectively, occasionally interrupting and offering suggestions.

After the meal, the women had basically settled the matter. On the men's side, Father Su and Uncle He Chuan were both drunk.

So this scene appeared at the door: He Chuan was holding his father-in-law, and two guards were supporting Qi Maoxun who was unconscious.

Aunt Wang Man still reluctantly took Su's mother's hand and said, "Then let's set it for next weekend. I'll ask you to go with me to inspect the hotel tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay, sure." The cotton mill Su's mother worked at was getting worse year by year, its performance declining. It was only with the support of the government that it was able to stay afloat. Business wasn't heavy, so taking leave was easy. The factory manager agreed, and since personal leave didn't pay anyway, the manager was happy to save money.

"See you tomorrow then." Wang Man saw that the guard had already sent them all to the car, and hurriedly said goodbye to Su's mother and her family.

He Chuan and Su Tao watched their uncle's car drive away before turning back. Fortunately, the restaurant was not far from home, so He Chuan, holding Su's father, staggered slowly and slowly to the house.

The next morning, Su's mother went to the company early in the morning to report and asked for a week's leave. She would go back to work after Su Tao's wedding.

When I was going back and just walked downstairs to my house, I saw He Chuan's aunt Wang Man getting out of a black car.

Mother Su hurried over to greet him, "Why are you here so early?"

He Chuan's aunt Wang Man smiled and said, "You're just too busy. Come over early and try to book a hotel today."

"Then come over to my house and sit for a while. I'll pack up and leave soon." Su's mother invited her warmly.

"Great." Wang Man also wanted to see what kind of family could raise a wonderful person like Su Tao.

Walking into the shabby and smoky upstairs, Su's mother felt a little embarrassed. If she had known earlier, she would have asked He Chuan's aunt to wait downstairs. But it seemed impolite not to invite her upstairs to sit down when she was already downstairs.

Mother Su turned to Wang Man with some apology and said, "This is an old house, a bit dirty and messy, be careful where you step."

Wang Man didn't seem to mind at all. She waved her hand and said, "It's okay. I came from a poor family before. Everyone in our generation has experienced hardships."

When Su's mother opened the door, Su Tao and others were having breakfast.

Su Tao also looked at the person behind Su's mother in surprise and exclaimed: "Aunt, why are you with my mother..."

Wang Man smiled and said, "Didn't you say you were going to come see your mom to book a hotel today? I just happened to run into her downstairs, so we came up together."

"Aunt, have you had breakfast? Do you want to eat with us?" He Chuan came and opened a stool for Wang Man to sit on.

"No, I came earlier." Wang Man sat down gracefully and spoke.

Su's mother poured Wang Man a cup of tea and went into the house to clean up.

After a while, she packed up her things. Actually, she just packed some paper and pen, worried that she'd forget things as she got older, so she could write down the pros and cons of hotels so she could compare them. She also packed some money, as she might need a deposit to book a hotel. Mother Su had thought of all this.

"Let's go." Mother Su smiled at Wang Man, then turned to He Yanzhi who was standing beside her and called out, "Yanzhi, let's go."

Because Su's father still had to go to work, He Yanzhi was worried about leaving the house alone, so she simply went with them.
